Had a wonderful night 2 years ago. Recently I will go to Japan and I plan to stay in this peaceful town and the lovely hotel for about a week.

Very welcoming and friendly guest house with amazing views of Mt. Fuji right from your window. Traditional style Japanese room, basic but very warm and comfortable. Private Onsen booking for families or couples. Breakfast/ dinner area with log fire and bar area/ terrace at the back with great views (great to view fireworks if you are there at the time) Owners very helpful with local information, Thank you we will be back.

When we arrived at the Guesthouse Sakuya we were quickly greeted by both the friendly staff and the absolutely stunning view. The traditional japanese room was pleasantly open, comfortable beyond measure and the futons offered us the best sleep we have had for weeks, or perhaps even longer. The bathhouse was amazing, with the bath being so warm a person might melt in it if they're not careful. Both the dinner and the breafast were beautiful and delicious and offered a taste of what traditional japanese cuisine might be like. The Guesthouse was a great experience and we can imagine it being the perfect choice for someone interested in hiking in the national park around Mt. Fuji and then recovering and relaxing in the calm, almost stereotypically japanese atmosphere. Addition: The staff also spoke and understood English much better than we have come to expect from Japan.

Far from Kawaguchiko station but can call them to pick you up to hotel. Warm welcome by all staff. Dinner and breakfast only 800 and 700 yen, delicious and worth to try it.

Very nice place, with an excellent host, always willing to help with information and good services. Don't expect luxury, but it is comfy, clean and the rooms have a great view of Mount Fuji. Optional Japanese style breakfast (@ ¥700) is great. There is an onsen that can be used individually at night. It is far from the center, but there is a pick-up service at restricted hours. 15 minutes walk to the lake where one can have a gorgeous view of Fuji.

My second stay at the sakuya guesthouse. It in a beautiful countryside setting with a beautiful view of Fuji-san across the lake. The host are lovely and exceptionally hospitable. The rooms are clean, dinner is nice and the onsen great to wind down after a busy day.

Great Japanese guesthouse with Mt. Fuji view and private onsen time. Cozy, clean with comfy bed and hot shower. It's far from the main station, but they offer a pick-up and drop-off service to/from the station and bus no. 22 stop. Friendly staff who can communicate well in English. Dinner set and breakfast set are delicious (optional/pay extra but still good deal: ¥800 for dinner & ¥700 for breakfast). It's really a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
