Ryokan very nice. Staff in the care. Very pleasant after the Tokyo frenzy.

Wonderful, location, facilities, food, staff. Found no fault. Couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. A must stay if visiting Japan. Wonderful way of experiencing Japanese living but with those little extras important to the western traveller. Thanks to all in Oyado Koto No Yume from the Kelly Family.

All very clean and new, I received as a king, will provide traditional clothing to that you pass through the village, we mounted the bed there is a hairdryer but do not put it in the description of the hotel, there are onsen small with the possibility of doing private and two breakfasts, one traditional japanese and one european.

Lovely place. Friendly staff. We were there with Master Three and they were great with him. Good location, close to some nice little eateries.

Have always wanted to stay at a Ryokan. So when we were visiting Takayama we decided to get this place for our stay. Well this is probably the best thing I chose during our trip. The staff itself was very nice, welcoming and friendly. It feels like home. The japanese breakfast is recommended. And the onsen was really nice in addition the had private onsen tht u need to book a day bfore. Overall we were very stisfied and worth the money I would say!

Place with much charm and tradition, where you feel the experience of the onsen and the traditional life of japan. Staff very helpful and willing to help and please you during the stay.

The best experience in Japan — worth!

Very great Ryokan right next to the train station (you don't hear the noise though). When you enter the Ryokan, you are pleased to remove your shoes and wear slippers. That make you feel already very comfortable while you do the check-in. They offer you a hot tea and ask you to chose a Yucata (traditional japanese cloth) that you keep for your full stay there. The rooms are really typical and the beds are installed while you are out for dinner. Even though we were skeptical about sleeping "on the ground", it was a really good surprise how well we slept. 2 breakfast choices in the morning (japanese/european). The personal is so nice and happy to help anytime.

First time experience of a Ryokan didn’t know what to expect except that it’s recommended part of trip to Japan. There is such a personal experience to this feels like you’re at home this is all down to the wonderful staff. Once you check in you can pick your kimono and they help you dress up in one (it’s not as easy as it looks! ) to take great photos in. If you leave the hotel you can borrow a jacket which I had compliments for :) Hotel is in a great location to the walking spots of Takayama and also the train/ bus station. The bathroom products are very lush and gentle to the skin wish I brought some before I left! Finally the hotel gave such lovely greats for our anniversary and made our stay very special.

This price is high, such as the installation of "remote mountain sakura" cost-effective, here just because the attractions near.

This Ryokan is very comfortable to stay at with a staff that looks after your every needs. The property is located within easy walking distance from the train station and accessible to transportation and many attractions in Takayama. A very easy environment to be introduced to your first Ryokan experience.

Great hospitality. Comfortable reception and room. Convenient location. Had a comfortable stay in a traditional Japanese Ryokan style room at this hotel. Staffs speak good English and very polite and helpful. It is catered a bit more for tourists who want to experience traditional Japanese Ryokan hospitality rather than local Japanese travelers.

From the reception, housing introduction, kimono wear, meal supply, and check-out goodbye are very polite and traditional hotel! Room large, tatami comfortable, equipment, Tanghuazan, breakfast soup and evening soup are going, very comfortable! Worth recommending and coming again! Hotel staff fluent in English, but also very enthusiastic!

Location was great. The breakfast was very average at best, but diverse. The onsen was the best part. Futons were comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The building was very clean. Price seemed steep for being the off season.

Service and courtesy are the highlights of the property (a traditional Ryokan), where you are assisted for any need. You leave your shoes at the entrance and inside you turn with slippers provided or barefooted on the tatami.
First we were greeted with a cup of green tea while we were described the property and hurried out of the check-in practices, then we were escorted to the room. The room was wide and clean, there are no fixed beds but for the night they come to prepare the traditional futons (which we found very comfortable).
In our reservation was also included the excellent traditional dinner, very varied and treated to the Perferzione also from the point of view of the presentation. For breakfast you can choose both a western menu (excellent but a little lacking on sweets) and Oriental. We also enjoyed the private onsen (available at an additional charge for 40 minutes) which is great for relaxing in the evenings. The property is close to the station, very convenient for those travelling by train and not far from the centre which is easily reachable on foot.

A nice experience. Very friendly from the first moment q gives you a tea and a sweet. Leave you choose a kimono, for q use while you stay. You can choose between breakfast, western or japanese, but even if you ask the japanese and I do not like (which is likely), they have fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, cereal, and coffee q you can still take. The vans to sleep very comfortable.

It was a pleasure to stay there, try the onsen, and getting dressed with traditional clothes. The japanese breakfast there and we liked it a lot, but hey, it was ok.

A really high-end Ryokan in Takayama! The half board experience is just great with typical Japanese and delicious meals. The public onsen is fine but it is also possible to privatize the 5th floor onsen for about ¥1100. The staff is really in the small care and a Yukata is lent to all the guests to stroll in traditional attire in the Ryokan and in town. Brefpas given but at the top!

For a unique experience! All the hotel staff friendly and very attentive, made us feel at home. The food buenissima, the room clean and spacious, the baths area very relaxing… All 10!

We loved everything! The staff is great, and there is lots of attention in every detail. The room is huge, very comfortable, with cozy lightning. The public and private bath are an amazing experience.

Oyado koto no yume was a great place to stay in Takayama, which is a good starting point for exploring this part of the Japanese Alps. We stayed for three nights, which gave us time to explore Takayama and for a day trip to Shirakawa-go. It is a ryokan located only 2 blocks from the train station, and 5-10 minutes from Takayama's historic district. In almost all of the rooms, you sleep on futons that the staff set up while you are at dinner and that are put away the following morning. If you choose, you will also be provided with a yukata (for men) or a kimono (for women) to wear in your room and at dinner; at breakfast, many people opted for everyday garb so that they could head out. You have a choice of a Japanese or a Western breakfast, both of which are extensive. We went with the Japanese breakfast, which was extensive and changed every morning. We also chose to have dinner here; they rotate the menu by table, having different dishes for a maximum of three nights. Again, it was beautifully presented, well prepared and ample. There are indoor public and private hot spring baths available; we enjoyed using the public bath. The staff was very friendly, and we had no problems communicating — their command of English varied from sufficient to very good. The other guests included both Japanese who wanted a ryokan experience in the Alps, and travelers from around the globe.

It is a very nice hotel with hot spring and excellent location. Both the breakfast and dinner with beef and taste good. The services are very good too!

Really nice ryokan, luxurious, comfortable and superbly located near the old town and the station.

This is the best choice for a real Ryokan experience in Takayama. The people who work there are very friendly and speak great English. I recommend enjoying the Onsen early in the hours when nobody is there-they are better than the private one they offer too. Breakfast is great-both the Japanese and Western (I would try both).

Hotel type traditional ryokan in the center of Takayama, with baths of the type onsen that can be booked to go to the whole family. When you graduate you do the checkin, in the lounge, sitting on couches and make you choose a yukata to be able to walk through the city to the traditional way during your stay there.
