We have just arrived after 12 days of rushing from place to place! This will be the calm we need. Delicious dinner and I expect similar breakfast, in an atmosphere of solace. We will explore the nearby towns and lake and enjoy the peace and quiet.

A small piece of heaven on earth. We have visited this amazing place for the first time. It will definetely not be the last. The surroundings are so beautiful and Alessio and his family took such good care of us. We’ll be back next year for relaxation, good food and wine as well as sightseeing in the lovely Umbrian region.

Welcome to heaven. Lots to do if you wish or simply chill out in the beautiful gardens or wonderful swimming pool. Every meal is an event that delights. Alessio and the family welcome you and create an incredible place that you never want to leave.

This is such a beautiful & relaxing place. Breakfast was top notch every morning. Dinners were superb! Alessio & family are so warm & welcoming. Met a very nice couple from the U. K. Who return there over & over. We can see why. Views! Food! Peace! Solitude! Umbria! What more could you ask for? I hope we are lucky enough to return also.

Beautiful and well organized.

If you want to see Assisi, this agriturismo is the perfect place for you. Very nice, caring and spacious complex with magnificent views. The house has only a few rooms, so you are quite undisturbed. The rooms are new, air conditioning very generous. Excellent cuisine with a multi-course menu in the evening. But the whole thing also has its price. With dinner and drinks you can quickly find 2 people in the region of 300 euros.

That we are back staying at Alessio's delightful hotel just 5 weeks after our first visit speaks volumes in itself. We were introduced to Santa Maria degli Ancillotti by friends in April during a tour of the area. A one night stop was simply not enough and we quickly changed plans already in place for May to allow us a slightly longer stay. The word hotel is probably not quite right for Santa Maria degli Ancillotti. Situated on a hillside overlooking Petrignano and within a very short distance of Assisi, it is more just a fabulous place to stay. About 10 rooms in total each consisting of a double bedroom with adjacent lounge area and private bathroom. The rooms are newly decorated and modern but combined with more traditional furniture. The bathrooms are modern with high quality fittings. The rooms are set in grounds which combine Olive groves, open grassland and a large swimming pool and patio area with more than enough sun beds and shades. The whole establishment is kept in immaculate order, I'm just a little disappointed that we were too early in the year to see all the Roses at their best. Breakfast and Dinner are served either outdoors under a large pergola (with wind shutters) if the weather permits or in a traditionally styled Restaurant if necessary. All the food is home made (even the yogurt) and is prepared by the owning family ladies, Alessio's Mum, Wife and Sister each preparing one or more of the courses.

Alessio is an amazing host making you feel welcome and at your ease.
The property itself is beautiful, quite and well maintained. It is ideal to discover Umbria — Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia… Also Frasassi Caves, Fabriano…
The rooms are good size and the bathroom we had was very big and well equipped — everything is up to modern standards… We felt at home!
Pool area is a wonderful oasis to relax.
Breakfast is served to the table. You can do the Italian breakfast, go for the full one with eggs etc. Or try to keep it healthy with yoghurt and fruit.
Dinner is home made and delicious. Alessio introduces the dinner-menu for the evening during the breakfast. Good wine. Compliments to his mother, sister and wife for the great cooking.
We hope to be back one day :)

The best place to visit for tranquility, beautiful views tremendous food and altogether a unique experience. The family are so kind, helpful and very genuine people who make you welcome from the first greeting to leaving. All rooms are kept in beautiful condition with 100% cleanliness throughout.

We here, ornate walking, everyone is very friendly. Our day and have a good time at the bar, bartender Claudio exceeded all of our expectations. However, everyone here makes us very happy.

Alessio, Inez, Suzy, mama, and papa are the most gracious, congenial hosts. We had a wonderful time. The accommodations were very comfortable and kept immaculate. Poolside, under one the cantilevered umbrellas, was a great way to take siesta. The hillside surroundings were picturesque. But perhaps the most pleasurable part of our stay was the food. The meals we had at Santa Maria Degli Ancillotti exceeded any of the other meals we enjoyed on our trip, and we loved taking the meals on the patio overlooking the town below. This is a destination that we would choose again and confidently recommend to friends.
