Critical safety warning: especially solo females.
I booked a 4-night stay (7-11 June) at this b&b but was forced to flee after day 3 out of sheer panic for my safety. The owner, a 49-year-old man, relentlessly preyed on me from the day I arrived.
Almost immediately, he began bombarding me with offers to show me the city over a beer. On my third night, I foolishly agreed just to get him off my back. During that interaction I made it absolutely clear that I had zero romantic or personal interest in him, I even told him I like women, not men to make it unequivocally clear there was no possibility of a mixed signal!
Instead of backing off, his behaviour escalated into severe harassment. The next morning at breakfast, he immediately asked me again for a drink which I flatly refused. He then spent the rest of the day loitering outside my room, sending relentless and unnecessary texts, and offering creepy, desperate bribes like "half-price pool tickets" and "discounted room rate" to get me to extend my stay. I ignored what I could, and refused all others.
When I received another request to meet up, I explicitly told him to stop asking because I had already said no and he was making things awkward, he didn't apologise. Instead, he had the audacity to say I shouldn't refuse him because he had "shown me a good night".
At that point, I felt utterly sick and terrified of what he might do next as it was clear he did not respect guest's or women's boundaries.
