We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa Cares that we returned two years later and were not disappointed. I've heard that there have been some changes and building updates since the director retired but it still has its charm. This is truly a hidden gem. Hope we can get back someday and do another tour with Paul. The best thing about these tours are you stay in one place and take day trips. No packing and moving every two days.

Enchanted place, with an excellent location and staff friendly and competent. Food superlative to zero km. Not to be missed.

Beautiful place and beautiful :) atmosphere.

The rooms are no frills and bathrooms are shared, however, the staff here rates 6 stars! The views of a quiet Tuscan valley below are beautiful once you ascend the steep driveway to Casa Cares. History abounds in this centuries old main villa, separate farmhouse boarding rooms, and chapel. Gathering places are available (most with fireplaces), and those working the kitchen provide meals for groups that reflect local favorites. Paul is American born yet fluent in Italian and a wealth of information about the property's history, the nearby town of Reggello's restaurants, and especially the popular museums, architectural wonders, and other great things to do in Tuscany's historic towns such as Piza, Lucca, Siena, Florence/Firenza and more. Giovanni manages the olive groves and vegetable gardens and willingly shares his love of sustainable farming practices, produce knowledge, etc. Finally, although not a 'gift shop' per se, they sell amazing olive oil produced on site, honey, and wines!

I absolutely love coming to Casa Cares. The villa is so authentic Italian, the food is outstanfing, and the people feel like family.

A perfect place for bit of time out. Located away from the busy citylife where is possibility to enjoy calmness and pure nature. People there are very kind and open-hearted, taking you under their wing momently you step on the property. Something so unique hidden, definately worth of discovering!

My husband pete and I had a fabulous trip to casa cares. This was my first time to Europe and felt so at home in Italy, Paul and Antoinette make the environment so welcoming and homey. The staff mostly volunteers were great. We were there when our son, Nick was there doing mission work for 6 months. What a great opportunity to see him and see how the villa is run. We were there when an American group was visiting and enjoyed traveling around with them, learning, helping out seeing the beautiful country. The work that is done there is indescribable and should be continued. The opportunities for young people is so important. I would love to go back as a volunteer and visit more of the country.
