This was our first time staying at Tenuta la Santissima and in the Sienna region and it was nothing short of amazing! We traveled all over Italy for two and a half weeks, staying eight different places, including a posh villa in San Casciano and a 5-star, hilltop resort in Positano, and Tenuta la Santissima was our favorite place of all and by far the most memorable. So many things made is a special stay for us. First of all, the house is absolutely beautiful; both elegant and charmingly rustic; full of beautiful family antiques with a spacious guest suite, luxurious bathroom suite with tub and shower, a fireplace and an incredibly comfortable king-sized brass bed. We loved looking out the window at the countryside and up at the gorgeous wood-beamed ceiling both before and after sleeping each night. Even seeing pictures of the room and farm house beforehand didn't prepare us for how nice it would be. We definitely expected a lot, but it was so much nicer than we'd even imagined! The grounds of the property are gorgeous as well and you really feel like you are in the Italian countryside, which is exactly what we wanted to experience. There is a beautiful garden, in which Maria Theresa grows the wonderful, farm-fresh vegetables you enjoy during your stay, a large lawn area with lovely plants and trees, welcoming patios and so much more.
