Hotel Cecile

The location of the hotel was very great, it was close to the Pisa tower. However, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The room is very noisy and old. They did not provide any slippers in the room.

Nice basic room within walking distance to the major attractions.
Self check in was easy and quick and the check out was the same.
You can leave your luggage in the hotel.
AC works fine.

This hotel was the worst travel experience in my entire life.
Firstly, the receptionist who should be responsible for answering phone calls and replying booking messages is not performing the job. For a week I couldn’t contact with anyone, and when it finally happened, she was writing in Italian to my English questions. In 2023 for me is unacceptable to have staff who cannot speak the most common language.
Secondly, the receptionist was incredibly mean. My flight was cancelled so I politely asked for the date change. The receptionist instructed me to call booking to make a change and she will accept that. But after that she rejected booking request. And did it again and again, and finally lied to the booking staff that she did not agree and didn’t answer the phone from me ever again.
Summing up, this hotel is run by greedy people, who cannot politely or freely communicate, they will have satisfaction from your troubles because it gives them the opportunity to steal your money and have your room for another guest. I have never been so disappointed with customer service in my entire life. Highly not recommend and avoid this hotel and people.

Good location. But very basic. Tired rooms no character. No staff in the hotel all self check in. Kettle in room with no coffee or water only tea bags and a packet of unmarked powder? Bathroom was a bit more updated but large brown damp patches on the ceiling.

The room itself was simple but clean with a modern bathroom. My room had an air conditioning unit but no instructions, no controller or remote control so could not use. Maybe it’s centrally controlled. 5 min walk to the tower and restaurants and shops.
All in all the hotel would have been fine except for the traffic noise. Unless you are in room ending in 18, 19 or 20 you will be facing the road and the windows offer NO insulation to the traffic noise. Do not expect to sleep outside of midnight to 7 am as the noise is just horrendous.
