The lobby and the room were beautifully appointed. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating when we had an early check out. I would highly recommend Hotel Palazzo Alexander.

I loved this quaint little place within the walled city. My arthritic joints did not love the bed, but the room was elegantly appointed. The staff were amazingly gracious and helpful.

Excellent stay, mario and david made us very welcome. Car parking very handy nearby. We hope to come back.

I want to express my tremendous enthusiasm for this hotel. The emBience and decor are superb. It is quiet yet everything is accessible. Customer care is nothing but outstanding. We were supposed to stay at another hotel for the second half of our stay but changed this and stayed at this one. If we visit Lucca again this is the only place we would stay at.

In spite of the prices, a glorious peaceful setting in Venice!

Great hotel, very centrally located, walking distance to the main attractions. Wonderful staff, friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor. Nice breakfast that include home made cakes. Good Wi-Fi. The bathroom in the room could benefit from some renovations, but nothing major.

We had a fantastic stay here in early may. Lucca is a beautiful place and the hotel made the experience perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak good English. The hotel is inside the ZTL however the hotel can arrange parking inside the walls and authorise your car to avoid the fine. Breakfast was nice and the hotel is convienient to walk anywhere. Highly recommended!

Absolutely charming hotel, beautifully decorated in true Italian style, centrally located in a little cobbled street near shops and restaurants. The staff are wonderful, so attentive and gave us plenty of ideas for our holiday. Highly recommend.

Ancient palace and very well maintained, beautiful location, the entrance of the palace is beautiful with marble effects of very nice color. The staff is very friendly and polite, we were accompanied in the room "a junior suite" very nice and with a really breathtaking view, in fact you can see the bell tower and the cathedral. Congratulations indeed.

Located in the historic centre of Lucca a few steps from the walls. Family Hotel with friendly staff, courteous, very welcoming and especially prepared on places to visit and why. The rooms are spacious, bright and genteel and the cleanliness is impeccable. The breakfast is rich and buffet. It is equipped with parking which, being not far away, is served by driver. Comfortable and relaxing environment suitable for everyone. Payment in cash, by ATM or by credit card.

Charming hotel with wonderfuli views from bedroom on top floor and great location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and even upgraded us to a suite! Lovely breakfast.

Friday 8 September 2017 to Friday 15 September 2017 PLUS POINTS This hotel is in a good location. We were given a nice room with a beautiful wooden ceiling, excellent air conditioning and a well appointed but small bathroom. The man who greeted us at reception and led us to our room was very polite and kind. He listened patiently to my Italian and replied slowly in simple ItalIan or excellent English (when necessary). The best shower in Italy! There was lots of hot water and the water pressure was consistently strong. Breakfast was served by an extremely helpful man who was fluent in both English and French. Our room was cleaned while we ate breakfast and extra pillows were provided without us having to ask. One of the major plus points is the preponderance of middle aged or elderly Americans spouting nonsense such as — "Oh, the thing about mosquito bites is that they itch. " Or the man who said in answer to a query about mosquito bites replied that he did not have a problem as he just "spaced them out" (followed by an all encompassing embarrassed silence as his compatriots in the (Special Needs) group pondered his statement). Or the same man stating categorically — "You know what one of my sayings is? (Please wait with great anticipation for this nugget of wisdom. ) "Why do you have to get old to enjoy some life? " We had to stifle our laughter until we got back to our room. Top marks for being ridiculously stereotypical.

MINUS POINTS Unfortunately, either the walls are very thin or we have very loud neighbours, the pillows are rather thin and the wall safe is very small indeed! There seems to be an irregular drip in the cistern in the bathroom. More annoyingly, it only seems to drop during the night! City Tax of €2.00 per person per night for a maximum of three nights cost €12.00.

Wonderful location, beside main shopping area, restaurants etc. Very comfortable hotel with a personal touch. Tastefully furnished Italian style. Peaceful colours of gold and green throughout, even the china. Staff lovely and very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. I've stayed in many hotels in many parts of the world but this hotel leaves all others in the shade. The hospitality and warm welcome we received from Mario was the nicest I've ever experienced. It was like visiting my brother in his home. Mario is this hotel. This hotel is Mario. So, if you like a warm, genuine welcome, come to this hotel in Lucca. If you have a car, Mario will park it then he will chat to you and advice you where to visit and bring your bag in the lift while accompanying you to your room. Also, this hotel serves the nicest croissants in Italy with pots of coffee and pots of tea in china pots!, brought directly to your breakfast table.

An amazing hotel with amazing people who work there. Very friendly and helpful with all our questions. The hotel was small and comfortable very clean and neat. Breakfast was fresh scrambled eggs, cheese, salami, breads, pastries, yogurt, It was a very comfy and welcoming hotel. Highly recommend it!
