Incredible place, incredible people, incredible food & cusine with soul more than heart. An unforgettable experience.
I want to share my experience with other guests to be careful with this agriturismo. I am explaining the facts and let you make your own opinion. I had booked for three weeks in this place last summer in August. Unfortunately, I had to cancel for personal reasons. An Italian friend here in the chianti is a perfect friend of the owner's son — which, if I understood well, also works there. My Italian friend called to explain I couldn't come and asked if it was ok to cancel the booking (I had made via booking. Com) and to be paid back. All fine, all clear, they agreed, big laughs and sweet goodbyes. This happened a week before my booking should have started.
I contacted the owner (mother of the son) a couple of days later, who denied everything and said, "What you decide with my son is not of my business; you didn't cancel through booking, so no money back. " We tried contacting the son, who said his mother is a bit harsh sometimes, but he will talk with her. I tried again to reason with the mother to meet me in the middle, at least getting half the price back, as we canceled a week before.
We are a year later; nothing happened; I waited to write a review to see if something could be handled between the son and my friend, who ultimately says he is avoiding his calls. Ultimately, I lost 1, 653 €, which is… a lot of money, at least for me.
Booking tried to help me contact the owner and reason with her, but they couldn't help me more because I didn't cancel via booking. Com.

A corner of paradise at the doorstep of Siena, Castello di Grotti will keep a special place in our hearts. A genuine Italian hospitality, stunning view on the Tuscan landscape, the quiet of nature and the magic of a legendary castle have made our four days here special. Don’t forget to ask about their extra vergine olive oil, an excellent and exclusive production from this extraordinary land. Highly recommended. Grazie di cuore!
