Beautiful lake that looks almost emerald green… Possible for various excursions… The simplest is the one that goes around the lake… Boat rental option to cross the lake and possibility to eat on site as there is a small bar.

It is the largest natural lake in the Dolomites. Its waters, very cold, in summer assume an emerald green color. An easy path allows you to turn all around us. You can also rent rowing boats. In high season it is preferable to visit it in the early hours of the morning.

This place is majestic. Drive right to it, park, and talk a walk. Go early to avoid crowds and see the lake at its finest. You can walk around the lake, rent a wooden row boat, or just relax and enjoy the view. Parking is paid, fair price. There is a small cafe where you can get treats or a beverages. A gift shop as well with some cute gifts. There is also a hotel right on the lake, we did not stay there but hope tol in the future. This place is worth a stop, either for an hour or 4.

Wonderful! Although unfortunately the lake had not been much seen that it was covered by a blanket of snow. But it was still gorgeous. I would definitely recommend a visit, maybe in spring/summer.

It's magical here! Come in any weather, you will like it. It is possible to park for free immediately to the right at the entrance, not reaching 10 meters to the paid parking, nobody checks. Bring your pets, let the lake and cafes. There is a possibility to walk or swim on the boat right up to the foot of the cliff, from there chic view. There are still lakes nearby, but the bries are the most high-octane!

In Trentino Alto Adige There are 100 beautiful lakes but without a car park with 500 parking spaces… Maybe you should look for a more original place. Try and you will be satisfied!

Parking nearby is paid (5 euro), a little further there is free. On the territory of the complex there is a bar with average prices by European standards; Free toilet; You can rent a boat (the price of the question is 20 euros per hour or 12 euros for half an hour) ; The hotel overlooks the lake (about 150 euros a day).

Beautiful lake, widely described and so much praised by not being able to make original reviews, but only to confirm the beauty of the place. Only reporting, and advice, is to avoid the summer weekends and all the month of August for the chaos of people, the difficulty of parking and for the long queues, leaving the valley, in reenter the road of the Pustertal.

In practice the main reason for my holiday in the area has fully reflected my expectations.
Visited in mid-November, I was fortunate to see it nestled between the peaks and the snow-capped woods, but not icy.

Wonderful lake in the Braies Valley, just below the Puster valley, halfway between Dobbiaco and Bruneck. Splendid water color given by the low temperatures and possibility of following the walk around all the lake Percorrendolo easily. Great place to stay for lunch for a picnic in the green vegetation around.

Undoubtedly magnificent place, if you arrive in the early morning, when still the sun has not invaded the valley where the lake is located, you can enjoy the reflection, on the crystal clear water, of the peaks that surround and create a breathtaking spectacle.
A non-difficult path makes the whole tour of the lake and allows you to enjoy a vision at 360 °. At the entrance of the area there is a large hotel with bar and restaurant open to all and a small jetty where you rent paddle boats for a romantic ride right in the middle of the water mirror.

Beautiful lake! If you are in South Tyrol, you should walk around here. The circular trail around the lake is also suitable for the untrained. It was just stunningly beautiful!

Super beautifully located mountain lake for summer. — or winter holidays.

The Pragser Wildsee, or Lake Prags,  Lake Braies  (Italian: Lago di Braies; German: Pragser Wildsee) is a lake in the Prags Dolomites in South Tyrol,  Italy. It belongs to the municipality of Prags which is located in the Prags valley.

Unfortunately very crowded tourism. Otherwise the landscape and the drehort very nice. For hiking please take sturdy footwear with you. Partly steep ascents around the lake.

Truly spectacular! One of the nicest places ever visited. It has a large paid parking lot and a nice path that runs around the lake. In the summer there is the possibility to rent a small canoe and get a ride in the lake!

Romantic and well-run place, immersed in nature, between the mountains and the woods. Spectacular lake that will remain imprinted forever in the memories of the visitors. I stumbled upon a grey day so I couldn't appreciate the colors it boasts, but anyway the walk around the lake is nothing short of crowded. More than a walk in the mountains it seems to be in the city center. To find peaceful walks you have to take the path that is detached from the main one. To be seen once, but overrated.

A pearl. I Rarely go back to places 2 times, but this time I will make an exception. I saw it in The summer and definitely will be back in the winter. Beautiful the scenic Lake tour that you can comfortably walk in an hour. The Whole Val Pusteria is still a masterpiece of nature.

A charm. Beautiful Place, magical. To Go back! The walk around the lake is suitable for almost everyone. Sore Note parking fee at €6 independent of the dwell time.

In Winter the lake is icy and you can walk over it. There are also those who try to skate with discreet success (besides it is a quite rare experience). We Recommend you bring your own skates (I don't know if you can rent a spot).

Lovely Lake! I was There the week before Christmas! The Lake was icy and the panorama leaves everyone's mouth open! There is a path that goes around the Lake but you have to be careful at certain points there is plenty of ice but still a lovely place to visit if you pass in Val Pusteria!

This review is only about the lake in December** During winter time this place is magical (see photo). The water freezes at — 13Cdeg and you can literally walk on snow&ice and reach the edge were the mountain and the lake meet each other. With nice weather you get amazing colors. In Xmas time you can enjoy a ride on a two horses open sleigh. To reach the place there's a road with superb views to the Dolomites, and at the end of it there's a parking area (not free, I do not remember the cost, because I only remember the beauty of this place was so worth the price! ).

Super place! Here in summer you have a beautiful view and a great hike around the lake. The café on the edge of the lake is also very nice, as you can take a break directly at the lake. You have a bathing facility and also enough parking spaces. For me a highly recommended place.

The beauty of Nature, enchanting with changing variables, deserves to be deeply lived and enjoyed. The Tour of the lake is for everyone, almost, and also allows the visit of a hut. Absolutely stunning lake! Reflections are beautiful and the scenery is to die for! I highly recommend coming in winter time, the snow made the mountains gleam and there were little to none for crowds. Thoroughly enjoyed our hike around the lake.

Visit early in the morning, to catch the sun shining onto the mountain. During noon the sun is directly behind. The hike to the top of Seekofel is one of the most spectacular hikes in the Dolomites. Definitely take it if you have the skill, time and energy! (~7hr hike on a steep trail to reach the top and go back to the lake)

Hotels still closed as out of season. Beautiful and imposing structure in a wonderful location on the Lake of Braies.

Lunch at the restaurant. Inviting menu with ridiculous portions.
Water bottle 1/2, 50 in 2 liter. Water from the Alps in pitcher just for hotel guests.
Strudel with ricotta improponible. All concluded with a non-accomagnato pre-receipts from tax receipt.

The hotel was built in the late 19th century. A very romantic place.

We had lunch at the restaurant of the Hotel Lago Di Braies Monday 19 October 2015 during a trip to the Lake. The restaurant is pleasant, Tyrolean style with wooden tables and benches. It's not huge and we, mindful of crowding of previous visits, at 12 o'clock we walked in and asked for a table. The charge is a Veneto … err … true … but that was very kind with us. Maybe for the time, our boss arrives very fast: we chose from the menu is not too extensive but rich of typical mountain deer goulash with polenta and mushrooms, I and my husband polenta with Bacon and melted cheese. Hearty divine flavours. We finished the meal with a slice (ona) of strudel and my husband with a slice of sacher torte (giant) and a coffee. All for € 24 in my opinion spent a great time! Two small notes: 1) this time we did not find speck spätzle and melted cheese on the menu that I like so much: — (2) there was a couple with a beautiful boy, then I conclude that is allowed access to the restaurant also to our friends at 4 paws!

Beautiful lake. You should walk the whole trail around the lake in order to grasp all the beauty. Pteferable hours are the afternoon. We've been there at the end of September. It's a must!

Here 2 worlds collide:
The House was opened in 1899, to allow the "rich and famous" on the idyllic Lake views in the mountain world of the Dolomites. Great statesmen have here submitted the hand. The location is a dream and the hotel has charm.
Today multi-bed rooms is not blends by the different room categories — which with shower and WC on the floor "with" on the other side — a "two-tier" society operated one and single — and double rooms on the. In the beautiful dining room for dinner, it is then quite bizarre when an abgewrackelter mountain hikers squats (start and end apparently some multi-day tours) with tank top, shorts and Flip-Flops next to tie and tie.
The food was ok, we felt the service as bad. You had to move coffee for breakfast on two machines, tools such as mirror — or soft-boiled egg was not possible and the whole thing was getting a certain character of the canteen. Annoyed we are that we were allowed to sit only as guests on the terrace between 12-15 h if we order something to eat. We have the hotel christened "out there only jug".
The latter is due to the fact that turns this Idyll in the course of the day in a small "Königswinter". Crowds flock to the Lake, souvenir shops are booming, and the sheet metal avalanche rolling through the Valley of the bag.
You should visit this beautiful place only outside of school holidays. Maybe right then also the price-performance ratio.

Disastrous. We had seen mixed comments but we said, "is a historic, patience if it will be a bit rundown. However it has a wonderful view, a story behind and we are people easy. Let's try ". They put on the fourth floor, pretty much the attic of the shining. Microscopic room, faulty lock, super view over the Lake (ok) but the bathroom. The bathroom really remembered the pictures of postwar Italy. Dirty walls, chipped, number 2 single microscopic bubble bath, 2 towels. And I was thinking to 86 € x 2 + 10. But the best part is that the room was pure still to do. Left a mess from previous tenants and thus presented to new ones. The draw on helpful reminder but when the next day, after Sackey in the mountains we still to do (at 3 pm) has taken the ira and we left the hotel in advance.
