Very nice experience if you take the full ticket because you will be entitled to a small guided tour but super documented with pros we have done it twice in 8 years and always as much fun 🥰

Great for family, hiking, DIY… I recommend to everyone experience and enviable landscapes.

I went there today with my husband and my children, very high prices, barely enough food, dilapidated and shabby structure, The tables were dirty, everything very degraded.

Gorgeous place, clean and very cozy rooms, great food and service.

Staff must bring what is required and not comment on what customers choose, almost mortifying them. I had asked on the pizza for the addition of buffalo mozzarella and it was not recommended to me saying that it was already a creamy pizza, I had not asked for them to remove the onions from the pizza instead I was tricked and they were taken away.
Dessert then I'm still waiting for it… Shameful… I am brought a dessert that is not what I requested, I send it back and… after an hour they still don't bring him…
I will never come back.

We stayed for New Year's Eve. Strategic place, a short walk from the cable car. The staff were very friendly, the place was friendly and clean. It eats great both at the restaurant and at the bar. Also recommended for families, we with two small children had a great time. We will definitely go again!

I was there today. A gorgeous place is a good pizza friendly staff. Only a flaw you have to renovate the rooms.

It's a good place. Off-season is very well catered for. Ideal to get back from the hike that should be done mount up. Get exhausted and be able to order a hot coffee to warm up and rest your legs, priceless. Warm and with all the comforts.

Yesterday I was with my friends up in the mountains at the Wisdom shelter.
It was a wonderful day, we had a great time and almost returned kids in the snow!
At lunch we were at the restaurant who were greeted with so much courtesy and kindness not to mention the good food and especially the maccheroncini with wild boar sauce and the unique meat dishes and much more. In the end they also paid us coffee and an exquisite dish of cannolicchi stuffed with chocolate and custard that I had to sacrifice to finish them. All framed by a beautiful panorama and a warm atmosphere… what to say: unique!

Excellent breakfast and restaurant food is delicious grazie mille.

Lovely friendly staff and all speak good English, they rang us when we were on our way and told us we needed snow chains as there had been heavy snow, when we told them we didn’t have any they organised a nice local man to meet us half way and he even puts the snow chains on for you, it was well worth it nothing is to much trouble for the locals and the food in the hotel was lovely lots to choose from, A +++ we will definitely return.

Great location Beside the unhindered of the cable car. The staff were very helpful and the staff were very helpful. The only thing that left us a little disappointed and is the Notivo for UI not do 5 star is the food. A lot of choice in the menu, nice dishes to see, but too abundant and quality a little small side.

Rifugio Sapienza is the starting point for climbing the Etna. The structure, in addition to the cable car for the ascent allows you to relax by eating something or just admiring the view.

It is what you have when you are treated like a tourist more there were few people in the restaurant and still we pulled out all the cold food we were charged for more the price of the wine.

Incredible place! Incredible views! Worth to visit in your life! If you don't want to pay for excursion, do it by your self: first by car and then walking. If you go during winter time, be ready to a strong wind!

Very nice room cozy indoor temperature optimum, free Wi-Fi;p Ersonale Fantastic, very courteous and helpful; Food Great breakfast Plentiful (council horse meatballs and mixed grill and in the afternoon a nice hot chocolate with sprinkling of cinnamon) we were in four some friends of mine took other but their judgement was positive… For those who want to spend days in complete relax council to go around Tuesday/Wednesday…

Great place, nice and friendly staff, you eat big, how to feel at home! Cable car very close and convenient for excursions in autonomy! Council, mixed barbecue with addition of horse meatballs! Awesome! Definitely!

I was hungry, I went to buy a Arancino to share with my boyfriend and arrived at the cashier I heard the fateful words "3 euro" at the hi said, "Look that I took one not two" and he "Sisi 3 Euro"… 3 EUROS A ARANCINO? Are we kidding? Not even too good… 6 Euro 2 Arancini? It's a robbery. Okay you want to rob the tourists but so it's embarrassing… Needless to say that the successive times I opted for other places because if a arancino costs 3 euros I leave to my imagination the price of the menu.

Long wait until you get to the lift otherwise very interesting but once seen is enough.

There is everything local bar. It's been a while but I remember that I always had a good time. With all the typical local products etc.

Here you can catch the cable car to Etna. The price for all 63 euros per person. There is free Parking, where the run local beggars and require a tip for showing you where to stand. Feel free to send them to the garden. In the zoo garden. There is a restaurant, the prices are too high.

At approx. 1950 meters altitude is the mountain hut, which provides the visitor with everything necessary, toilet inclusive.

It's a good place. Off-season is very well catered for. Ideal to get out of the walk.

Because of the off season we got our room for 65 euros a night. The concierge was very helpful and gabe us a map for hiking etna. We were able to check in early and store our bags until the bus came the next day. They also allow room service to be ordered at their front desk from their restaurant. Only minus was that breakfast was basically gone by the time we got there (30 minutes after it opened… snooze you lose)

Great place to visit to go up Mount Etna with lots of little souvenir shops and restaurants. Of course as this is the Touristy spot it was busy and expensive. We loved it though and would go again.

There is nothing to complain but low wall soundproofing. The rest conditions were of high level. I enjoyed staying in the hotel.

We couldn't really find a place where to get information about different tours/things to do. You have to go to the tickets office and ask there with all the queue behind you. Nice experience though. A lot of place for parking.

Very welcoming. Service at the restaurant excellent and fast… dishes and abundant flow. Cost medium to high but are worth the amount… very good quality. Overall great place to spend an evening in the mountains/volcano.

I imagined that the prices were not contained, but I hoped that the pizza was good: unfortunately it was not so!
Regardless of the type of flour you take, the dough becomes so hard that cutting it becomes an enterprise. Surely it is the lack of leavening, also because I have been all night drinking water!
Too bad the tourists are convinced that that's the pizza!
The ingredients… I'd say enough to reach her.

I was at Sapienza for lunch. The restaurant itself is stylish, comforting and welcoming after a day of hiking on Mt Etna. The staff were courteous and friendly. The cuisine is typical of what you would find in Catania and elsewhere on the mountain however prices are more than you might expect in the city. In any case we had a fine meal and would eat there again.

A great climb to Etna. Shoes, warm clothes for climbing in the lease. Organized everything perfectly.

Not to be missed in Sicily.

Thoroughly enjoyed the view, even from just the top off the cable car. They even provide the option for people to buy the bus ticket at the top of the cable car area if you change your mind. There is good food, restrooms and souvenirs at the upper cable car station. We bought a panini and drinks to eat on the ride down. It was a great lunch break. Very friendly and you can get by easily with speaking only English.

Great pizza, great appetizers. Nice room and friendly service. When making a reservation (via mail) were courteous and fast. Good.

A wonderful, unique in many ways. Breathtaking volcanic typically. At the retreat you can eat fairly reasonably priced.

Go there before climbing the mount Etna in the funicular, a little expensive, but normal for the location, ideal for taking the last coffee before the climb.

The food was good. We both ordered pizzas which were large enough to feed a very hungry person, so we probably should have split a single pizza, though our waiter told us that they were personal pizzas. They gave us some free cannoli and called a cab for us which was very nice.

I went there and got much more of a classic refuge. The staff and very friendly and helpful. Great for Bike tours.

Excellent tasty food. A cosy restaurant. The prices are normal. 12-18 euros per dish. Good meat menu. Liked the lamb and bisteca.

We arrived on Saturday morning at the retreat, we were warmly greeted by the staff, training me my wife and the baby to 2 years. Despite being a refuge is Child Friendly.
Fully available to fulfill any request (from milk to pupa to SOBI) very nice and professional. The shelter is well maintained but the highlight is definitely the restaurant capable of churning out tasty pizzas also at 2000metri!
5 star hotel breakfast with homemade cakes and fresh croissants. Choice of Italian or American.
Staying in the tree you are entitled to 30% discount to climb the cable car. A great saving definitely.
Overall I am happy and will be back as soon as possible. Shame about the snow now almost non-existent but it's still on 13 April!

Pizzeria at high altitude! Stellar pizza. Very good and very well seasoned. The dough is from 10 e lode.

Used the restaurant and bar one night. Table for one. Food good. Service swift. Staff good. Some English spoken. Bar basic and relaxed.

Stop for anyone visiting the Etna and the craters. The area is well served, expensive prices.

Restaurant pasta bad with hair attached on the dough. After I pointed out is not matter to anyone.

Well equipped retreat, offers a very good reception service catering to tourists who stay. Is the meeting point for all lovers of etna, between skiers, climbers and hikers.

A meeting place. From here if you want you can appreciate the ascent of Mount Etna. We start with the cable car to take if you want 4 x 4 or use their legs to see the craters.

We arrived for the first time at the Rifugio Sapienza without knowing what awaited us, the welcome was the most optimal, in the room felt surrounded by the order and cleanliness, inside a room complete with every comfort.
The hotel was very friendly and helpful to your every need, for all your needs without ever venedoti in against you to feel a "weight".
The animation is genuinely nice class with live music and "tuned" to the evening.
For food goes one more word: the flavors are of our land properly matched and the portions are plentiful to say the least (joking with the Manager we have complained that he wanted to "kill" with goodness and the abundance of food! ).
I recommend it to everyone who wants to spend peaceful moments surrounded by the beauty that "our" mountain Etna has in store.
A praise to a dowry crucial that saw me directly concerned, namely the honesty of the Board that on every occasion demonstrated you don't want to ever take advantage of customer but want just to feel at ease pampered!
Highly recommended! And specifically I mean they GOOD!
