Agriturismo Ridocco is a place to visit for Godfather fans, photography lovers and travellers who are looking for an unwinding day away from tourist locations in Sicily. It is only one hour away from Palemo and two and half hours drive from Catania. It's at the door step of the original town of the Godfather village, Corleone. On the way to there from Catania, there are a few sites where the Godfather movie was filmed. The property is around 200 acres and has hundred year old Olive trees, almond trees and fig trees. The guest house is a beautiful stone building which has been owned by the same family for over five generations. It is a 200 year old Sicilian farming house. The original part was built in 1830 and the new part was established 100 hundred years ago. It showcases the old Sicilian farming residential construction. This makes Ridocco a destination of photography. With the love of animals, the owner has more than twenty cats, several dogs, and multiple horses on the property. Have a horse ride in the peaceful cool morning with sunrise. This experience in the hills of Corleone will make you appreciate the gifts from nature. The owner also treats the guests with well made breakfast and a four course dinner prepared by a professional cook. The whole experience is unique, relaxing and welcoming.

At dinner, we had the immense luck of sharing a table with a journalist from RAI who worked on a report on the rural accommodation of the island, with the brothers who manage the establishment and with his mother, an exceptional "Signora", cultured and distantly descendant — or so I thought I understood — of a Sicilian noble family. It was a curious evening.
