Mamaloco

The area is a little scruffy, to be sure, but behind the iron door, things get better and my room is large with great air con. There is a shared kitchen between 3 rooms but each is en suite.
Within easy reach of the main bus station, air bus and train station so going to Taormina for the day was a sinch.
The main problem I.
L had was checking in earlier than 3pm and communication. In the end l had a long lunch at the Moschetterini trattoria round the corner to fill the time.
My host Maurizio eventually texted me as he doesn’t speak any English e mio Italiano e non molto bene! But once in he showed me all the various key systems they use (electronic).
Wi-fi was non existant but he fixed that the following day when l saw him.
For a convenient, cheapish stay for a couple of nights, you can’t fault Mamaloco!

Location close to the train station and not that far from the city centre by foot. This accommodation offers you a room with ac, Wi-Fi and own bathroom with a shared kitchen. Our room was clean, moderately spacious with TV which didn’t work but apart from that it was ok. The kitchen has functioning fridge and sink. Cooker doesn’t work so in case you want to cook something (as we did) I suggest you not to. You can find there basic cutlery, pizza slicer, plates and glasses. No normally sized pans or pots. The lady who gave us keys was helpful and gave us good tip on the beach which is 5 mins walk form this place. Even though she doesn’t speak any English, she used translator which help basically all the time.
This is a good spot for sleeping and exploring the city for a reasonable price.
