Arnaboldi Palace

Arnaboldi Palace is a wonderful hotel which I can strongly recommend to anybody who wants to visit Pavia. It's a unique place, right in the center of the old town: we could see the Duomo from our window. The staff is excellent (thank you, Signore Paolo and Sergio! ), exceptionally helpful, the rooms are large and clean, the palatial breakfast room, which is the ballroom of the palazzo ballroom, is amazing.

Our stay at Arnaboldi Palace was unforgettable. The building is emaculate, particularly the main dining hall with its beautiful terraces facing out over the lively streets of Pavia. The service was phenomenal and personalized to fit our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Martina and Sergio in guest services were helpful and highly attentive to our needs, and they along with the host Paolo and Suzannah (the resident "guard" dog) were all very welcoming. The continental breakfasts were a lovely touch, and we highly recommend enjoying the aperitivo on the outside terrace in the evening. We had to check out before breakfast on our last day to catch an early train, and Sergio personally arranged for breakfast to be provided in our room before our departure. We were fortunate to get to spend several days here, and it was a lovely spot to return to after day tripping around Northern Italy. Every evening when we came back to the Arnaboldi, it felt like coming to a home away from home.

Very helpful service, even if it was a little too much. Great location and bombastic breakfast in an impressive room (gigantic chandelier included). However, I find it annoying that the water from the minibar is charged for and not worthy of this hotel.

We booked our stay in October, and couldn’t have been happier with this spot! The accommodations were five star, continental breakfast every morning in the salon was very nice. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owners, dog Susanna! The location of the hotel is very convenient To shopping and a short walk to the train. If I could give them six stars, I would! We miss Pavia already.

Everything at Palace Arnaboldi worked out perfectly! We loved the location, the breakfast, the spacious bedroom and bathroom and then the common living room to spread out and do our computer work.
Pavia was the final stop of our long vacation so Palace Arnaboldi was the perfect place for us to not only be able to visit other northern Italy destinations but then wind down and feel like we were in a home. Paolo and Martina were the perfect hostesses! Thank you for the most wonderful hospitality!
We will definitely recommend to our friends to stay and I hope to return one day!

It's more a luxury Bed. And. Breakfast than an hotel. They give you keys of the street door because there is no attendance at night. The place has only 6 guest apartment rooms sharing a huge lounge.
Located in the real center, it is difficult to access by car, and parking is offered by the hotel in a courtyard located in another building.
Rooms are big but not huge, and because of the historical building, windows aren't noise proof. It's a main problem because Strada Nuova has highly traffic of people talking until after midnight (3am on weekends).
Decoration is OK but 'special'.
Breakfast is served at table lounge. Continental with some pastries and eggs at demand. Good but service a little slow. Staff is very friendly.
At the end, a little expensive for what you get. If the building was an historical 'Palace', this hotel isn't a 'Palace'.

A fantastic and uniqe hotel experience in Pavia. My wife, our son and I chosed to stay a night in Pavia in order to be fairly close to the Linate airport the next day. So I booked a night at this hotel. I didn’t quite know what to expect before arriving but I was happily surprised by the friendly and personal service (thank you Paul and the team) as well as the likewise spacious and beautiful interior of the hotel. The breakfast was top notch. I will surely stay here again in the future.
Two things to be aware of when getting to the hotel:
1) the hotel is located inside the restricted driving zone in central Pavia but the hotel staff will arrange with a permit once you check in.
2) Google maps does not show a relevant route for driving to the hotel. Call the hotel and they will provide accurate directions.

What a wonderful hotel, a humble entrance and lift hides a grand hotel. There was so many things that impressed us during our one night stay at this hotel. From the stunning collection of Antiques, the high ceilings, the terraces, the bedrooms. However what really makes this hotel stand out is the outstanding level of service from Paulo. Due to the hospitalisation of one of my friends we did not arrive until the late hours, however at his own expense he waited up to greet us with a smile and assisted us with our bags. At breakfast despite his lack of sleep we were then greeted with a smile. He is the perfect host and gentlemen spending time with his guests and treating them like family and not as just another customer. I have a love for history and he took the time to answer my many questions and nothing was too much trouble from assisting us with the ztl to resolving an issue, all was dealt with above and beyond. We visited many hotels during this summer break however this kind and humble man stands out for providing the very best of service and a rare gem who places his customers at the heart of the business. This really is a gorgeous hotel. And breakfast is plentiful. We will definately return and stay longer next time.
