Chalet Garden

My son and I stayed at Chalet Garden in mid-March 2025.
We were accommodated in a ground-floor apartment. Overall, the space was decent, but it was quite dark. It was located next to the garage door, and whenever a car passed, it was noisy.
Upon check-in, they blocked an amount of 300 euros from my credit card as a deposit, which we were not informed about in advance.
The kitchen lacked an oven, which was a major inconvenience if you wanted to prepare your own meals. There was only a ceramic cooktop.
The apartment had clearly not been used for a long time, as several light bulbs in the kitchen and bathroom were burned out. Despite the owner's promise to replace them, no one did so during our stay.
There was no coffee or tea, not even as a welcome drink. The same applied to basic supplies—there were not even garbage bags.
The stairs had ice on them, which was not cleared.
And last but not least, the apartment is 950 meters from the Motolino lift cabin, meaning you cannot ski to it. Reaching the Teola station is also impossible on skis—for both locations, you will need a car or a bus.
When we raised our concerns, the owner responded quite rudely and arrogantly, which left me with an unpleasant impression.

I would not recommend this hotel.
I stayed in Chalet Garden Rododendro, which is part of Alpina Hotel.
Firstly, they charged 100 euro for an ordinary cheap PVC fridge shelf, which was broken when we moved in, the chalet was overdate, it was a small, old fridge.
Another issue, there were no cups for tea, we had to drink tea from the bowls.
Duvet!, the chalet isn't cheap, for that money we didn't even have a proper duvet or blanket, it was just a bed cover.
Ther apartment was very dark, there was not even proper light.
The mould on the wall, the guy who introduced the apartment said he didn't notice that, is very visible in the kitchen, such a large mould takes a long time to grow, so he definitely noticed that before.
Battery in the ski locker didn't work, I asked for a new one, but they didn’t have it, he should have checked it before we moved in, so our ski box was still open.
The sidewalk in front of the stairs was very icy, only our apartment, other apartments around were ok, I slipped a few times, he said that he sprinkled salt on it, strange, because the ice didn't melt, even a little bit. So I don't think so there was some salt.
Finally last issue, one person from our group was bitten, I don't know what it was, maybe bedbug or spider, four bites!, don’t think so it was a spider.
The staff behave very unprofessionally, it is a shame, because the hotel looks nice and has a good reputation, but the chalets are terrible.

Very nice place to stay, fantastic views of the mountains, good transport connections, 10 minute walk to the montelino ski lift.
