Two years ago together with friends. You can breathe an atmosphere of cordiality. If we then put an excellent kitchen what more do you want?. Well-kept and comfortable rooms. Panorama that is a refreshment for the soul. At dusk a thousand lights come on in the villages below … It looks like a crib. I can't wait to go back. Schignano is the country where I spent part of my childhood and adolescence. Suggestive place that deserves to return to its maximum splendor.

A magical farm with animals with a mesmerizing view. We had lunch there. The food is simple, hearty and rustic. Good homemade wine. Pleasant hosts!
For two with three dishes, one dessert, wine and grappa spent exactly 60 euros.

We only spent one night in this hostel and it's a shame, their food is delicious, a real pleasure to eat as well (except for the extra pounds).
As some reviews point out, the rooms are not the most spacious but we found them comfortable and above all clean.
Special mention to the staff, everyone is very friendly and helpful.
We would love to come back and have a good time here.

… Wonderful… the place is gorgeous, a well maintained and very quaint place, we were there as restaurant customers. Fixed menu for August, great in quality, freshness and quantity, with vegetarian alternative. We were well and pampered. It's worth a visit. The area is full of walking trails. Maybe next time we even think about an overnight stay. Good job, thank you and next.

We spent 40 euros apiece.

Amazing place to have lunch/dinner in. The view is breathtaking, food is fresh and homemade and the owners truly take care of their guests. Just be careful to not get the wrong path to get there! Easy to be mistaken by the GPS and going through a hell of a street.

Splendid farmhouse. Magical place with simple dishes made divinely and with an excellent quality price. Fresh and self-produced food, from wine to vegetables to cheeses to pasta. The owners and staff are masters of friendliness. I will always go there.

This farmhouse is a risen Alpine, thanks to the courage, tenacity and technical competence of the owner, Emanuele, who has restored, expanded, enriched and embellished, to make it a structure articulated on several buildings, small, as Villas, used as hotel accommodation, next to the primary structure, which has become a dining area, below the house of Emanuele himself. The wonder of this farm, which produces most of the food it offers to its guests, is that it is in the midst of nature… In the morning you can feel the presence of animals, both wild and domestic (goats and farmyard animals, depends on the season…) ; They feel or see each other… With the good weather, the goats, which produce so much good milk from which comes the tasty cheese produced by the Marnich, graze free in the meadows above the cottages. The environment is rustic, but the tranquility of which you enjoy is priceless. The owners always try to welcome the best customers, which is not always easy, given the very varied backgrounds. I have in fact always met many foreigners, Europeans and not (including Australians, Americans, Indians…). The guestbook is full of "autographed experiences"…
The food is excellent and the creativity of Giulia, especially in recent times, has given a personal "touch" to the menus, produced with organic food and attention to health, even the most "special" (celiac, for example).

New Year's Eve 2018 in 4 families, very welcoming, friendly staff, genuine food, very cheap price, mountain huts skilfully recovered, all wrapped up in the nature that frames the lake Como. All the rooms are rustic in stone living and the bedrooms vividly coloured! With the snow is not really easy to reach, I think in spring or summer is a lovely place! Recommended for mountain lovers and walks or even just to "pull the plug" when the stress is too much!

Despite an epic arrival at the Gite (Snow storm, Rebel GPS), our stay was perfect!
We were very well received, the food was perfect, our room was perfectly clean, the wake up view of the Snowy Valley was outstanding!
In winter take a good look at the weather before going up to the gite to install your snow chains and above all do not follow the GPS if it proposes you to cut by the village (the lanes are very very narrow).

Our girls here at Marnich live a fairytale, with the rustic rooms warmed by the warm light of the fires in the chimneys and we great we find peace for a break of unique relaxation!
Food and courtesy are no less. Recommended!

Farmhouse Type Mountain hut, you have to climb a little ', the road walkable without problems but a little ' out of the way and in the middle of nowhere.
Location Nice, both for the view but especially for the very rustic structure all in stone, nice atmosphere. Food good but not great, my risotto with pumpkin in particular was heavy and dripping with oil, in any case I have not found a good value for money. In particular 20 euros for 4 grapnels seems exaggerated.

Absolutely fabulous, great home cooking with produce from the farm and surrounding farms in the valley. Great views, but only 20 minutes from lake Como.

We spent a perfect week at this Al Marnich hostel located on the heights of Lake Como. We chose our rooms directly on the hotel site and opted for half board. What a good choice!
Certainly the place is deserved because it is accessed by a small steep mountain road though charming. But once you are up there, what a joy! A breathtaking view of the valley, which can be admired both from the terrace of the restaurant and from the terraces of the rooms or from any point of the area, day or night.
Everything we expected from this place, we found it, and much more.
— A very friendly warm welcome (a beautiful and delicious heart-shaped raspberry cake for my birthday on the evening of our arrival) : The hosts, the pater familias: Emmanuel, la Mamma: Giulia, Antonio and Linda, the family, and the whole team that Working in the field (culture, miscellaneous work, household, kitchen…) are very kind and generous.
— Tasty food concocted with talent by Giulia: every day different dishes and, in half-board, remarkable portions: antipasti (Succulent salami, among others), first dish, second dish, and dessert. Giulia cooks exclusively natural, often organic products, many from the family farm. We love Italian food: We were not disappointed!
-Impeccable cleanliness in the rooms, very functional. Thank you to the people in charge of the household who are also very friendly.

The best goat cheese I have ever eaten and the pizzoccheri with homemade pasta, a goodness!

The place has a nice atmosphere, the food is great, but the waitstaff is totally disorganized. Watch out for prices difference between the bill and the menu.

Very interesting hotel. The rooms are a mix of old architecture, typical of the region, and modern touches, like led lighting. The views from the hotel are stunning, and the zigzag road way up the hill also reveals wonderful sights. Unfortunately it was raining on the way in, and Google maps chose a route that, while more direct, is an old trail paved with rocks, climbable only with a 4x4. I followed it blindingly, and almost got stuck because with the heavy rain the trail had turned into a stream. I did manage to back down the steep hill, as there was no way to turn, and a local told me of the right, more roundabout way. I did not try the dinner menu, because the road had worn me out. I had great hopes on breakfast, but it was only good, with fresh baked bread but not the variety of local foods I was expecting. In all a good experience, but beware of the trail.

Lovely place with great hosts an great food.

Small rooms but provided with every need, it is a farm so you will find some spider or ant, but nothing unacceptable. A bit far from the lake but perfect to stay in nature and in absolute peace. Finally very good food of the restaurant, with products bio and homemade.

Exceptional location and view. Nice welcome in French. Good food based on fresh homemade products or local products. Choice of 3 entrances, 3 dishes and 3 desserts. Meals taken on the terrace. The whole is laid out with great taste.

Unfortunately, there were a few problems, so that consists of 8 single rooms, with our reservation were 4 double rooms. The rooms are unusual and rustic, unfortunately the heating didn't so that's something damp and cool was.
The food was ok, but did not hit us from the stool. The wine was very good.

All round excellent. Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower and Wi-Fi, great views and absolutely AMAZING food! Highly recommend to those visiting the area by car.

Great property located in a beautiful environment, the owners make you feel like you were at home and cooking with local produce is tasty and genuine. The dining room with fireplace, exposed stone give a rustic appearance but very cozy. As for the bedrooms are located in separate buildings from the restaurant but at a distance of few meters, comfortable and well maintained. In summary, a farm where if I will have the opportunity to come back to the area I'll keep certainly account is definitly recommend to everyone.

We were invited to a dinner, fantastic food, atmosphere almost like a housewife. Stone walls and in the living room under a great fireplace. Some of us, after dinner they stopped to sleep … we were very happy!

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The view from the room is a joy to wake up to, and at night all the little villages light up the valley to make for a magical vantage point to enjoy the local wine and relax — I noticed in an old pamphlet Winston Churchill use to come to Schignano to paint. Due to the small farm there is lots of wildlife and the walk down to Lake Como, while taking two hours, is probably the best we did on our tour of Northern Italy. The staff are extremely conscientious and the place is informal and packed with character as you'd expect for a family-run business. I'd particularly recommend the house wine, which is only available in a carafe and we were told 'must' be drunk from bowels because it is the 'regional way', although we couldn't help but notice when dinner was finished the owner drunk it from a glass.

I had a lovely couple of nights here with my wife. We opted for one of the standard rooms and were a little jealous of the balconies the bigger rooms had, so would recommend one of the 'superior' rooms if your budget allows. The food was delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Truly welcoming place run by a very friendly family. The context is very rustic, as is the food which was tasty and flavorful. Even the farm animals they care to make your stay more enjoyable!
If I had to find a fault I would say that the heating of the room was excessive, but it was enough to close the radiators and the situation has normalized, so the environment is suitable for both the warmest I for the coldest.

We know the Marnich for several years and have always loved it!
The hotel and the rooms are really comfortable and well groomed, guests are followed carefully and often "spoiled" by the family of the owners: Emanuele, Julia and Antonio.
The food is good, natural, made with the use of organic food, ideal for those who want to taste delicate dishes without sacrificing the local flavour.
Also our dog Cora immediately made friends with Tio, the magnificent pastore maremmano which houses sympathetically each new guest.
Recommend this property where guests can relax in a natural landscape, full of picturesque views, discovering new trails of Valle d'Intelvi.
