My stay at this hotel was from July 2nd to July 6th, 2025. On the first day, I arrived very late at night after struggling with poor public transportation. I had to ask a stranger to help me get to the hotel. Because of this, I told the hotel manager I wanted to cancel my booking. He was friendly at first and told me it was no problem I just needed to send a message to Booking. Com and he would approve the cancellation. I’m honestly glad I didn’t cancel and decided to stay. On the second day, I tried to explore the area but couldn’t. I rented a bicycle from the hotel, but it was in poor condition, and I ended up spending the whole day on the road. I decided to leave the next day, but again due to lack of transportation, I stayed one more night. On the third day, I informed the manager that I would check out on July 5th instead of July 6th. He again said no problem in a very friendly way and told me everything was fine. I also told him I had messaged Booking. Com, and he said he hadn’t received anything yet. On July 5th, when I was ready to leave, I found the hotel door locked. I had to wait until after 7:00 AM, missed my bus, and couldn’t even have breakfast so I wouldn’t miss my flight. After many calls and knocking on the door, it was finally opened. I reminded the manager again that I was leaving early and asked him to respond to the Booking. Com message. He said again: Everything is fine. However, after returning to my country, I received a message from Booking.

I loved staying in Albergo Sala, it was an amazing experience to wake up in the middle of the mountains and surrounded by nature. The hotel had a problem with the plumbing so they relocated us to a great apartment, we slept incredibly good. The owner was the nicest person I’ve encountered, he helped us with absolutely everything and made sure we were comfortable and had a good stay. Breakfast was good and abundant as well.
It is tricky to drive to Valbrona but if you are considering it, take this as your sign to do so.

Very nice hosts and a very local feeling.
The hotel is old but the feeling is warm and colocial.
The breakfast is a mix of the normal dry stuff, and well prepared coffee and eggs.
Parking is a bit tricky if you dont have a very small car.
