Hotel Merloni

Our stay at Hotel Merloni was truly memorable. The location is absolutely amazing—surrounded by mountains and offering a stunning view. One of the highlights was the beautiful front terrace, lined with palm trees and other lush greenery. Sitting there, simply soaking in the scenery, was a peaceful and unforgettable experience.
The hotel staff deserve a special mention. They were incredibly polite, friendly, and always willing to help. This is what I call exceptional service—genuine hospitality that makes you feel welcome and cared for.
As for the food, I originally planned to have dinners in the town center, where most restaurants are located. But I quickly changed my mind. The hotel’s kitchen turned out to be a hidden gem. The meals were so delicious that I ended up wishing I had tried them from the very beginning.
In summary, Hotel Merloni exceeded our expectations. If we ever return to this area, we will definitely stay here again.

I was supposed to stay at this hotel from May 10 to May 11, but my flight from Israel was cancelled due to the war and the dangerous situation in the country. I informed the hotel on May 7 and explained everything in advance.
Despite this, the hotel refused to provide a refund or even a voucher for future use. I believe this is extremely unfair and unreasonable given the circumstances.
What’s even worse, I felt discriminated against based on my nationality. The attitude from the hotel was cold and dismissive, without any understanding or compassion.
Very disappointed and strongly discourage others from booking here.

Prepare yourself to hear everything from the corridor and rooms close to you, you are lucky if people around are quiet and polite. The shower was very small and was hard to make any move. The room was quite old, old tv, furniture, beds. Other than that I liked the atmosphere, the view, plants outside. It felt cozy.

The service was ridiculous! The hotel owners refused to give us a glass of ICE because we had not bought the WATER bottle from the. Later at night I had a glass bottle of a drink and I asked for them to lend me a bottle opener for 5 seconds to open my bottle and again they refused stating ironically that “ we have a bottle opener we are just not giving it to you because the drink was not bought here”
During breakfast, the staff was hovering like vultures over our heads to see how much food we consumed and once I had left a sandwich on my plate (I was having a break to let all the food digest) and the server came and rudely pointed out that I am not to take the sandwich with me up in the room (Again, I was just sitting there with my sandwich on my plate, not intending to take anything with me).
Overall the hotel amenities were decent, the location good for someone traveling with a car but the staff was incredibly inhospitable and definitely did not make us feel welcome.
Do not recommend unless you are ready to be constantly lambasted in italian (the staff refuses to speak english even though they all know it)

Amazing hotel, very clean, the staff is very nice and ready to help you when you need. Free parking, free swimming pool and Wi-Fi. Definitely recommend 5⭐️

Location is amazing just few minutes away from the lake view, the services are great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Rooms are aging with firm mattresses but everything works, a/c good, pool very good. Staff excellent. It's family run and very professional. Chef is part of the great service and Colombino looks after people very well.

I guess the first thing to point out is that this hotel is further from Menaggio than some websites would state. There's a bus service into the town but finishes quite early in the evening.
Hotel was lovely with a pool and nice deck area.
Room was clean and a reasonable size with a well equipped bathroom although shower is a basic stall.
Air con worked well.
Breakfast was good quality but basic and evening meals were if a limited choice but tasty.

It is very nice friendly staff and helpful great location.
