A lovely setting that disappointed on dining experience. Inconsistent service. Some of the food was good, some was fair. Lots of mosquitoes and flies on the patio detracted from our enjoyment.

Magical atmosphere with the mythical Joseph who puts love and professionalism in the preparation of the sublime dishes.

The history Giuseppe Basso, Class 1938, a native of Vernazza, leaves only 14 years from his country to embark as a cook and a treasurer on the ships of the owner Paolo Scerni of Genoa. For 13 years he turned the world wide and long and on his return to Vernazza he decided to open a restaurant called "Il Belforte".  
The inauguration is memorable. It was the 1965 and to be godmothers there were the mythical twins Kessler and the young, beautiful Catherine Spaak with her boyfriend then Johnny Dorelli. They were golden years, in which the jet set and the entertainment world orbled around the Cinque Terre. But the rise of the entrepreneur Cook Joseph does not end certain here. At the beginning of the years 70 Uncle Eliseo proposes to take the reins of his restaurant "Iseo" in Portovenere and, without a moment's thought, Joseph agrees. Here too the characters are not lacking: Alberto Lupo, Walter Chiari, Paolo Villaggio, Gino Paoli, Adriano Celentano, the Countess Cow Augusta and many others.
The secret of many famous customers reveals Joseph: "They entered the restaurant serious and they came out smiling".  
In 1997 the volcanic Cook thinks of another and opens an inn in the natural park of the Palmaria Island. Needless to say, this new intuition also turns into success.

A nice place, with friendly staff and good food… Certainly the rooms are not from Grand Hotel but they have their own charm.
The Taxi leading from Portovenere to the island is a nice touch.

Beautiful and amazing to eat.

The view was nice, but to charge 6 euro's of " pane e comperto" on a lunch of 13 euro's is ridiculous. That while the "pane" was hard enough to use it as a weapon! (Don't worry I didn't do that).

Take a short boat ride across the inlet to this seaside restaurant apparently frequented by many celebrities. Lots of covered outdoor seating nestled among the trees. A sweet breeze. Food is very good. Olive oil, great. Gluten free pasta pesto, great. Tiramisu is what tiramisu should be and the lemon sorbet should be on tap. Seafood appetizers were very fresh.

The taxi boat bothers the entire bay as it's the most noisy boat I ever heard and in the bay there are many boats at the anchor for the night.

Superb location in front of sea, from this location you can see the fantastic San Pietro's church and Doria's castle.

Very picturesque location on the island of Palmaria. Free transfer from Portovenere for reservations. Price quite high, but with some attention to the choice of the menu not back home in his underwear.

Nice place on the island of Palmaria. Boat taxi service avery 10/15 minutes will take you there. Very nice location and good food. Prices on the menu are adequate, just be careful if ordering fresh fish priced by weight… we had a surprise on that one.

A great night … The beds however should be oiled rather, continued to make gnic gnic.

Really good seafood and beautiful setting, inside and out. Worth the money, but be prepared to spend. But then you get rewarded not like five miles up the coast, and that's why it is five not four stars.

First time at locanda lorena eat great but on top and serve with the waiter definitely look too efficient and gentle enzo.
