Munta e Cara Albergo Diffuso

Place is nice and situated in a nice village but the hospitality and lack of passion make you wonder why this people choose to work in tourism at all. They make us pay 10 euro to store our bikes in a garage. Completely unnecessary and unfortunately playing right into all the stereotypes about Liguria. Never coming back.

Me and my husband wanted to have a short but nice vacation after all this chaos with Covid.
We saw this hotel on booking. Com, but we called the hotel directly.
They told us that they give the ugliest room to those who book rooms with booking. Com.
We had a rough ride going to this hotel. Its not easy to find because the roads are so narrow.
We checked-in and we find it strange that for the luggage service, it cost 2€ for each luggage. We told ourselves that we will carry our luggages think that the room is in the same building, but we made a mistake. We took steep and high stairs to get to our room because their rooms are scattered around the whole town. Even the breakfast room is in a different place. But that was not the worst.
We opened the door, and what did we saw? Another staircase before we reached the bedroom.
We were exhausted and all sweat up with all those stairs. The room has no air conditioning, it is humid and hot. There is no Wi-Fi, no reception of cellular network, the but bathtub was so high for my husband to hop on but the most disgusting thing in the room?
I took a quick shower before going to dinner. While I was drying myself with the towel the provided us. I saw a long piece of black hair on my shoulder. I was so long, I was so disgusted by it and almost throw up.
I saw another piece of hair under our bedsheet and more hair beside the bedside table. The worst nightmare!
I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you're looking for something out of the box, don't hesitate to visit Apricale and choose Muntaecara. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. You will stay at one of their many stone-walled medieval 1000-year-old houses tightly packed on top of a really high hill so be ready to leave your car outside the city walls and to walk up and downhill a bit. Don't expect all the comfort of a modern hotel. The unique experience will be your reward. And don't forgrt to drop by the Mare e Monti restaurant to try one of their exquisite mashroom pastas or pizzas.
