The Ticket was not bought. There was No purpose just to walk down there. We walked around the perimeter and were satisfied! It's Something Incredible! Such a Legacy! But around the forum beware of "Gladiators" who are dragged to take pictures and then ask for 5 euros per photo. You Tell them that there is no money and they immediately from smiling friends become serious, and in general, if honestly like zabuldyg.
But we got in good weather and the playground was played by musicians. You could stand on the lookout and feel where you are now. Very inexpressible Emotions.

We are in front of one of the most important archaeological testimonies of the world, but sadly we must note that the fruition of space is very approximate. If you want to use the interactive guide you have trouble finding the numbered signs that indicate the various exhibits and the numbering is quite bizarre, there are no arrows that indicate the direction of the path! My digital guide has stopped at number 35 while the stations are many more. At the ticket office is not indicated the possibility to visit, making a special ticket, the House of Augustus on the top of the palatine and when you arrive on the spot, after about 2 hours, there is no possibility to buy an entrance ticket. In the archaeological site there are maps with all monuments numbered: Pity that the numbering does not correspond to that of the digital guide. In short, great confusion. I trust in the willingness of those responsible to take care of the revision of the visitation route.

Amazing placed — Colosseum and Roman forum With Roma pass, entry is free. Kids will need ticket. You would have it from Colosseum, retain and produce it. Rick Steves audio guides are amazing here. We had cut short as my kid couldn't bear the heat. Plan properly during peak season — sun cream, hats, lots of water etc. Go early. Overall amazing if you are a history buff.

This place is… magical! That’s really the best way to describe it. Admission to the Colosseum includes entry to the Forum. So many time you go to a site because it is historical but then it ends up being very underwhelming. Not this place. Not only is it important for obvious historical reasons, but there is also so much to SEE. The ruins are in such state that you know you are in ruins but that you can still imagine how incredible the place must have been in its height. And the gardens that fill the spaces in between — greenery and jasmine and roses — make you feel like you’re in a quasi-paradise. It was so beautiful it almost felt like a dream.

A place you should definitely visit! It is not necessary to take tickets and go inside the museum territory (if you are not a fan of excavation and stones). Everything can be seen from above, as excavations are 5 – 8 meters below the level of the soil. Above the picture is even more holistic and promising than at the level of excavation.

While the Colosseum gets much of the glory, the Roman Forum is where so much more history lives. My wife and I used an audio tour from our phones, but whether you use an audio tour or a tour guide, find a way to hear about how the Romans lived. Not as well preserved as the Pompeii ruins, these take a bit more imagination to bring alive. Yet they do. This small space was a center of Roman life and it is incredible that even today some of that lasts. Get tickets ahead of time and visit early or late in the day to avoid lines. There is so much more to see here than the Colosseum offers.

This fabulous archaeological area is located between the Palatine Hill, where the city of Rome, the Campidoglio, the lowest of the Seven Hills, Via dei Foro Imperiali and the Colosseum arose.
You can admire the remains of buildings and monuments from various eras of the oldest history of the Roman Empire.
To highlight, among the many works emerged, the temple of Vespasian, the Arch of Septoius Severus, the temple of Saturn and the three columns of the Temple of the Dioscuri (Sons of Zeus).

An inexpressible sensation of contact with the richest history of the Forum. A Scale that captures the spirit. Unlike the Conflict, crowds of people did not interfere with perception. Recommend. By the Way, a ticket for a visit to the Forum complex + Collision + Palantine Hill. Only at the ticket offices of the Forum there will be no queues, unlike the cash desks of the Conflict.

Take your time going through the forum when you go in. Do some research before you go so that you can appreciate what you are seeing. Remember you must do palatine hill and the Roman forum on the same day — the ticket lets you into the colosseum on another day if you like. Take water and snacks and take it SLOW. There’s a lot you can see from the outside of the forum without paying for a ticket. Worth seeing Trojans column and the different forums from the street perspective. HIGHLY recommend. You cannot miss this if you are in Roma!

Interesting Place. If It is possible to take the audio guide better. On A Sunny day it is obligatory to apply protection from a sun and a headdress as there are not many trees there and it is possible to get a sunstroke easily. There are several drinking fountains On the territory of the complex.

A place full of history, of thousands of years, of incredible things and especially that still stands. It broke a lot by the fires but it is kept pretty and touring those places is magical. Come with time that takes about 3 hours to go around as it is very big.

I haven't been back in nearly 20 years and I have been very pleasantly surprised. The uncovered exhibits and the history of the place are fascinating. The routes are quite clear, many drinking water fountains and WC are available. Still to be improved: the weeds — there are still so many around the monuments (allergy take me away…! ) ; The numbering of the monuments/remains — there are three different and it takes a while to understand what to follow.

I loved it. In the various blogs I could read people said it was bof but actually you have to make this visit. In addition, it is included in the ticket you buy for the Colosseum and is integrated into the Roma Pass. Very nice walk to do with the children among the ruins of the Forum. There are still beautiful remains. Take a guide or an audio guide, we didn't do it and we really missed it to understand the history of the place.

The absolute highlight to breathe, feel, let yourself work in ancient Rome. Beautifully spacious, wonderful surroundings, relatively quiet, despite the many visitors. Great view of surroundings including Coliseum. Kombi ticket with Colosseum and Palantino cheap. Amazingly quick re-emergence. Old ruins get imagination going if you're a bit interested in antiquity. A place where you can and should linger longer.

Very nice, you should visit in the afternoon when it is not so hot. Very nice in the evening. Although it really is only a few ruins, the view of the city is fantastic.

We also got into the Roman Forum quickly with the Rome Pass. Many visitors in fine weather. Worth seeing.

This place is huge and you have to walk it with care and time. Careful it's all stone. It is not suggested for people of low mobility or wheelchairs. No elders either. But it's spectacular. Always see well the exits PQ is great and if you want to leave fast, it is complex.

It was from this small area that the Romans made the decisions that molded their empire, and thus influenced the history of Europe, the languages we speak, and so much more. The site is absolutely beautiful to behold, and there is so much to see. From the Curia to the arches, to the mind-blowing temples. Don't forget to visit the upper portion, where lots of people don't bother going. You get a spectacular view of the forum and the surrounding parts of Rome. On a personal note, this place was, along with the Colosseum, the most important thing to visit in the city, and I hope to return one day and see even more of it.

Wow… Beautiful especially if you cross the streets illuminated by the magic of the sun and the colors of flowering plants… The paving stones are very well kept… Watch the imposing monuments… I suggest you do the cumulative ticket with the entrance to the Colosseum… Rome is wonderful… You can not visit them even for one day.

It was very hot, and there is no shelter from the sun practically. What liked it is of course the detailed descriptions of where where to go. In General, this place was not of much interest to me, but I still walked everywhere and looked at everything. The Impressions are generally positive.

Charming already only admire these remains of ancient Rome, walking on Via dei Fori Imperiali. Even more so is walking through the avenues and the inner paths. Beautiful archaeological site placed immediately in front of the Colosseum. It is easily accessible by subway or by bus. Surely it is one of the places that you can not visit in Rome. The site is very extensive and you can walk quietly inside breathing the atmosphere of ancient Rome. From the highest points you can enjoy a beautiful view of the historical centre of Rome.

There is nothing to add to the interest that the forum raises. Personally I always prefer to visit the cultural locations supported by a guide as in this case. This time we turned to the association Romolo and Remo and the guide was very good. In three hours bore, Palatine and Colosseum. For those who were really interested in knowing every single piece of advice, however, 3 independent visits.

Unique archeological site in the world, located in the centre of Rome, under the Platinum Hill and Campidoglio. They were built in the Republican era, later reorganized by Julius Caesar. Today only the ruins of ancient temples and columns remain. Particularly in the forum of Tito there is the Arc de Triomphe dating back to ancient Roman times.
You can enter the internal area of the hole by paying the ticket.

Loved it. If you are planning to come here please leave a lot of time for the whole archeological area because it is enormous and it takes you several hours to go through it. Pack a lunch (they don't take them away at the entrance so you can take a break and sit down on the grass and enjoy the day), and if it's sunny bring sunglasses. There are also water fountains inside so don't worry if you drink all the water you have with you.

This place is massive! It's easy to find yourself wandering around ancient ruins and suddenly several hours have gone by. We took a tour of the Colosseum and it ended with a brief overview of the forum. From there we figured it would be a brief walk around and then we could get lunch but a brief walk through a garden revealed a whole new section to explore. This happened a few times as we walked around. Overall I would say it's best to go without a map and just go wherever looks interesting… It definitely makes it feel more like exploration which goes well with the sites.

Beautiful, but hit in no better weather. There was a terrible wind and an air temperature of + 8. So it's a lot of spoilt! In general, everything is interesting, take a walk, take a photo! The entrance was chosen from the bus stops (which are circular, excursion). No queues! The overall feeling of an ancient place with a great history! But no more! once to see! So you decide!

Awesome place! Definitely don't miss it! You can get a ticket for this and the Colosseum for the same price as just the Colosseum (if I remember right). This place is HUGE and there is so much awesome history to see!

Although we left this sight for the last hours of our trip in Rome, it totally worth the visit. The queue to get in was long but the brilliant ceiling was stunning. What surprised us and made our wait felt shorter was the live street musicians outside at the square playing beautifully the song “Imagine” and the crowd was singing along while the water in the fountain was running quietly on the background. Unforgettable experience!

Very nice place. There are many destroyed buildings but some things are also well preserved. The entrance fee is 12 euros and it is really worth it. There are also very nice views of the colossus, St. Peter's Basilica, etc.

An absolutely breathtaking experience. The pure beauty of the ancient Roman Forum is a stunning experience. Something everyone should see at least once in his or her life. To see how big and old these buildings are is in one word amazing. I will certainly visit this place again in the near future.

We really liked it because the terrain is very spacious and you can move around freely. You can also take some nice snapshots of the Colosseum from here. However, despite Roma pass, we had to queue for over an hour. Contrary to announcements, there is no "Roma Pass Pass past the queue" (at least at the entrance towards the Colosseum). Have left the site later via another exit. Maybe you can get in with this one faster.

Lovely place. In Rome I would give the 2nd place right after the Vatican. Warning: The area is very large. Get tired of walking. Prepare morally. Even if you just run all 2.5 hours to go without stopping. 4 hours.

The Roman Forum is an exceptional place, full of history and anecdotes.
Unfortunately the place lacks a sign with explanations, diagrams and reconstructions to locate itself … which can be quite complicated at times.
Think of having with you a little guide book with some pictures to locate you as well as to see the impressive Temples that were erected at the time or watch you today!
The audio guide sold at the entrance is pretty handy too! Have a good visit!

This was probably my favourite place in Rome. A sprawling collection of ruins that formed the splendid centre of Roman life. The buildings are fairly sparsely labelled so I would recommend taking an audio guide or a good guide book to help you make the most of your visit. It’s worth making the walk up to Palatine Hill as you’ll be rewarded by some spectacular views of both the Forum and out over the city. The ticket is included in the general entrance ticket to the colosseum and you can use them over two days. I would definitely give yourself at least half a day to explore this wonderful historic site.

In order to be able to marvel at everything in the Roman Forum, you should plan a whole day, the complex is very spacious. There are also some quieter corners off the "main paths", which are still worth seeing.
Also in the rear, higher part of the area you have a great view into the surrounding area.
Quiet niches with seating among the numerous olive trees are also suitable for a short break.

A very impressive place. The terrain is quite large and therefore at least 1-3 hours should be planned for it. With the combined ticket you can (and should) definitely visit the adjacent colloseum.
Around the site are a lot of traders and tourists.
The whole area is definitely worth a visit.

It's beautiful. Stunning views and beautiful vegetation-although we were in the winter. A huge number of interesting monuments of the past. And sadly, because you imagine what countless people knew this place have long been underground. And how much beauty has ruined time.

Very picturesque ruins. A piece of history. Some surviving details 2, 5 thousand years and even more. The complex is huge. If you are planning to visit the Roman Forum and Palatine, plan for it at least three hours. Tickets are purchased simultaneously with tickets to the Coliseum (ticket offices are open from 8-30 to 15-30, cost 12 euros). One day you can go to the Coliseum, to the other here. We have come all the legs, but we do not regret.

An open-air history book. Allows to imagine the atmosphere of life in the ancient Romans. A sign of an ancient power and architectural genius of that time.

The forum, located in the valley between the Hill Palatinom and led from the south Side, the Hill Capitol in the west, Jeskvilinom and the slopes of Kvirinala and Viminala. It used to be a desert moorland area with numerous sources and Brook Velabr. Until the middle of VIII century BC this place was used for burials, while the settlements were located on the nearby hills.
The place was drained during the reign of Tsar Tarquinia ancient thanks to large-scale works on construction of sewage ditches and laying of large venting connected with drainage system. After the drainage of the region began the construction of the Forum, one part of which was intended for the stalls, the other-for public ceremonies, religious holidays, elections in the office and magistrates, for orators and sentencing Convicted.
The most ancient objects include: The altar of vulkanal, Black stone (lat. Lapis Niger), the foundation of the Sanctuary of Venus-Kloakiny, the foundation of Regia.

Historical site must in my opinion, to understand the lives of people at this time, do not hesitate to take an audio guide or guide any short. A pleasant flashback in the daily life of this people, and also appreciate our life today! Times have changed! Life expectancy is no longer the same, it has more than doubled!

The real navel of the world. Vestiges of history between small marble remains. As between columns and bricks that tell of the empire that was this city. Certainly the archaeological pole has been ennobled by interventions that have made it better usability and understanding. Impossible not to photograph even just by lambendone the confinement or from the terrace of the Victorian.

As a leap back in time the Roman Forum of Rome will revive you moments of more than 2000 years ago. Unfortunately to us today there is not much, but also see those few remains is a crazy emotion. It Is kept really well and all along the way there are signs with detailed explanations, although I personally always recommend going there with a guide to living at 100% experience. It is a stone's throw from the Colosseum, which is the reason to visit it. If you go to Rome you can certainly not miss the Roman forum! Super recommended.

The Roman Forum is a place with more or less well preserved buildings. The basilicas have completely disappeared. Only the façade of some temples remains. On the other hand we can still enter the Curia. There is a lack of explanations on the site to locate the buildings.

A walk back of 2000 years spectacular! Beautiful Walk in these places where the history of the Roman people was born! Pity that in some cases the tables are ruined and in other places would be the case to put some more. Nice Hole both day and night. To Visit Absolutely! Visited Sunday 3 December, was also open the underpass in the cellars of the district of Alessandria that allows access to the Imperial Forums.
For Those who are passionate, between the hole and the Palatino I think it takes at least 3 hours!

The Roman Forum is something fabulous! Walking in the avenues along which the city of Rome has developed and the Roman Empire breathes an air that is not equal anywhere in the world.
Then You can see the Colosseum that alone collects the millenary history of the capital. Since It was innugurated by Emperor Vespasian who succeeded Nero in ninety after Christ.
Here we understand the strength of Rome.
In Short everything around the Roman Forums, it is a millenarian story that makes us proud to be part of it.
Anyone in the world knows Rome and its fantastic monuments.

The offer of the tickets seems excellent: for €12, you can buy a ticket to visit the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine for two days. But The reality is not so great: last Sunday I bought the ticket in the afternoon and I visited the Colosseum. Then, the next day, at the same time, go try say access to the Palatine… But the entrance was already closed (even if there were people inside), so I couldn't get in. In the end, the morning of the next day, I went to try to log in again, but tell me that I can not enter because they are not 2 days (48 hours), but 2 consecutive days, so the only solution was to go back to the ticket office, queue and pay again. For all: You want to take advantage of the offer, you better go to it all the same day for the morning, to avoid any problem.

A good visit for adults and children. We went there with 3, ages 2, 5, 7, and they enjoyed the chance to climb the stairs, play the "crossing" of the cobcobbled, take pictures of the ancient world… There are toilets, but only 2 cabins in the same place, and the tail can be long.
Panels on the history of the Forum help to identify what we see, and also to get out.

Really great, feeling back to the ancient Roman Empire. It was really great, and it felt like it was back in the days of the ancient Roman Empire.

Reading about Roman Ruins and seeing pictures of them in textbooks didn't prepare me for what I experienced down in the Roman forum. The parts of temples that are still standing inspire awe, as do the still readable inscriptions and dedications on the building facades. Truly unforgettable.

A great historical place to visit while in Rome. I only wish they had better signs and pictures of what it looked like in its glory days. I recommend you purchase a good book with the history of the site with pictures. Even when you go through a guided service they don't do a go job of showing pictures of what it once looked like.

Lovely historian place. Not to crowded. Think twice if it is worth the extra euros to skip the line. They said it would be an two hour line, but we got in within twenty minutes to the coloseum. And there was no line at all to get in to the Forum.

You can spend hours here. Such history. We used Rick Steve's Rome book to navigate our way around, but I would also recommend a tour. Great way to find our all the interesting details. We also did 2 evening shows here about Caesar and Augusta. Fascinating!

I adore this place. So much history, you could spend a whole day here easily. Though many of the areas are unfortunately not well preserved, there is still so much to see and the paths and trails are really easy to follow (just make sure you have a map, otherwise it's easy to get lost). I used the audio guide and I highly recommend it — the one I got (at the Palatine Hill entrance) had a map that tracked my location and showed me the audio segments for the areas I walked by.

Awesome, magnificent … what else to say! The scale and amount preserved will leave you feeling in awe and imagining life two millenniums ago. In practical terms recommend you buy tickets at entrance to Palatine Hill (at 11ish on a weekday we waited only about two minutes to buy tickets). Only option is to buy a ticket that covers Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill, €12 at time of writing. We walked around and from the hill down to forum as we'd seen Colosseum already, nice route. It was pretty busy especially in Forum, early AM is likely better as it will be cooler if in hotter months. Water fountains to refill bottles are available at a few places throughout site, which was great. Not well signposted and we couldn't get a map, but there are maps placed around to find your bearings. Reading up on it or a guide likely very useful, there are quite a few informative plaques in Italian and English but not as many as you may expect. Amazing in any case!

The Colosseum. It's a staple of visiting Rome. However, this means that the Colosseum is always busy — from 8:30am till close there is a constant stream of people. Both tourists, pedlars and thieves. Be especially careful of pickpockets and tourist scams in and around this location. There are people trying to sell overpriced water, tickets and photos. The ticketing system is atrocious. You pay €12 to access the Colosseum. The Roman Forum next door is not included. However you can get access to both Roman Forums (there are two — not mentioned on their website) and the Colosseum for €14 of you buy online or from the Roman Forum. What I do recommend is visiting the Colosseum in the late afternoon when many tourists have left. You can get some lovely photos! I visited at a peak time of year (July) and this may not be the case all year round.

The Colosseum was amazing! The monument was so huge and tall! It was an amazing experience! If you are going to rome, this is your number one spot to go! I would highly recommend. There are a variety of your guides you can choose from, not sure if we had an official or unofficial tour guide, but she was O. K. She spoke English well, but could not answer questions. To make the experience even better, find an excellent tour guide!

What can I say that hasn't already been said by others? A beautiful amphitheater built by the Roman empire that inspires the imagination. To get the cheapest non-guided entry tickets I would recommend buying tickets on the official website. This will allow you to skip the very long lines of people trying to buy tickets at the Colosseum. If you wish to have a guide, there's plenty of options to choose from online, but they are at least four times the price of a regular admission. To save money I simply read up on Wikipedia while I was there and eavesdropped on the guided tours as I walked by ;-)

What an amazing peace of history. To think they where capable to construct such a amazing structure back then. I would like to imagine when I walked around the Colosseum all the crowds cheering. People arriving from all over to see the fights. Amazing. Don't just go for a photo. Go to take in how amazing humankind is!

While in Rome there r many places to visit but I found the coliseum full of history and probably the one place I will remember forever! I booked the night tour which started at 845 pm and went close to 1030! It was hosted by a gentlemen named Setefano. His knowledge was outstanding and the views were awesome. We started our tour from the basement and it's quite amazing to see it from the ground up. We travelled in a small group of around 20 + people. The group asked a lot of questions and he had information from start to finish. What a great tour!
