Hostel

Very clean high quality hostel. I stayed here both in a private room and a 4 bedroom co-ed shared room and had a good experience both times. It's right next to the train station which makes it easy to get to. The neighborhood it's in isn't the greatest but it's next to some decent food and an amazing gelato spot. The hostel also has a cool little bar. Note that they charge you 5 euro if you need a towel.

Clean and well-maintained, but lacks soul. I enjoy backpacking because of the chance to meet new people, often by bonding in the kitchen over cooking. This place does not share this philosophy. There is no kitchen. The only things free are Wi-Fi and soap (not even coffee! ) The advertised pasta night is a dish ordered like in a restaurant, and we are the only ones eating it. The bar is mostly empty, except for some lonely people glued to their phones (the 8€ amaretto sour is good. ) You are quickly ushered into the elevator that leads to private rooms. Then one night suddenly the bar is closed for a private function nobody warned us about so we go to bed hungry. The rooms are clean. You are not allowed to bring your own food. I no longer wonder what is meant to be generated.

Terrible service, poor food, sketchy location. Book somewhere else there are better places in Rome for this price!

Quite well located, close to the Colosseum. Very nice décor. We stayed for two days and everything went well.

A place with a claim to "modernity", but too complex things work too poorly. Air conditioner allows you to configure anything, but only does not turn on, the registration site Wi-Fi is very red and stylish, but resets the session in 10 seconds after entering, the input cards, including/turning off the light in the room, when entering or exiting one of Tenants wake up all the neighbors with a sharp sound and the inclusion of light… All this is expensive. Stay for one night with a strong need you can, in any other case it is better to look for something else.

Great place. The few adjacent streets won't make you feel perfectly safe.

Location is close to termini station, pretty convenient. The room is bare bones but comfortable and well-equipped. Do bring your own toiletries if you want more than a shampoo/body/all-purpose soap. If you're a light sleeper, bring good earplugs — with the windows open for airflow, you will need to block out the constant street noise.

Old, bad housekeeping, and general ill-humour of the employees. Good location Metro next door and relatively central.

Common area is pretty swanky. On the main Venice island. Hostel is clean, Beds are super comfortable with charging Points and lamps attached in the bed. Little cramped though.

Hotel is well located. You quickly come from A to B. Besides, you don't hear any street noise. Good Wi-Fi is also available and the breakfast is also very good. The small lounge is very nice. I liked it and can recommend it to people who have no high demands.

Bare rooms, no TV and no fridge bar. There are no power outlets, especially near the bed to turn on the lights. The cleaning lady started making loud noises at 7am. Never again.

Bar, clean rooms with the bathroom inside the room. I loved the decoration also. Very good reception.

Good place to stay, location, it's a place that looks not very safe but we had no problems.

Juvenile place, I loved the retro style of the bar present inside the property. The staff is very helpful and courteous (special thanks to Vincenzo). The cleanliness of the rooms is excellent and the prices very cheap.

Room is good. Were two in a room with 3 beds. So there was plenty of room. Bathroom clean. Location could be better. Bit outside the centre.

Great place to stay at a low cost and with quality!

We only used the bar, very particular high prices at the bar but instead we saw that the rooms were really cheap even though we were not interested.

It does not have a kitchen and they do not allow you to bring your own food. To eat your food you have to go to a little room with only 3 chairs. They also charge you for locking your stuff, even if it is for a short time. Despite that the place is great. Comfortable beds and clean bathroom. Beautiful bar.

Excellent value for money. The staff are always available and smiling. Young and dynamic, especially Hayat, he always responds with a solution to our questions! The room was very clean and modern. I would love to stay at this hotel again. Oops, I did not mention the Super breakfast… Well, you'll see!

Photos on the website are much nicer than the actual stay. Basic rooms in a somewhat average neighbourhood. Perfectly fine for the price but nothing special.

More of hotel than a hostel. So if you are BackPacker who is looking out to gel out with like minded people, its not a place for you. Cleanliness wise its really good. Has a small pub indoor in which the first drink is free. Location wise not so good. Overall average.

Fantastic hostel! Were given a free upgrade from a 4 man to a 2 man room on arrival which was the best thing after a being on a bus tour for 16 days. Staff were all very helpful and happy and often went above and beyond. Really clean and the whole place is decorated well. Very close to the metro station (2 min walk) and about 10 min walk to the train station/bus to the airport. No guest kitchen available which was a bummer but hardly detracted from an overall fantastic experience.

Generator Rome was nicely decorated, clean, staff was friendly. Spacious rooms, pillow and mattres not great but ok, huge lockers. Location is very good near the subway station and bus station. You get charged to leave your luggage.

Very comfortable beds. Cleanliness very well. Atmosphere very well. The staff mostly don't speak Spanish. Internal showers in the shared room, very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast pretty bad and expensive.

I had a private room and I was very good. Even the breakfast at 5 euro was a great offer. Friendly staff.

Close to the station, in a not really residential area, but still apparently quite safe. The rooms are soundproofed well, although the doors a little thin. From the ground floor there is still little noise and music. The rooms are nice as in photos, clean but lacking a bit of maintenance. Nothing bad and great value for money.

About a ten minute walk from the main train station. Some would say the location is a bit sketchy, but I never felt unsafe. There's a metro station around the corner that will take you to the Vatican. The food at their cafe is average. No major complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

I had problems with the key to the room for 2 days and I always rewarded the inconvenience.

Nice accommodations with friendly staff and tidy rooms. Stayed for only one night, so I didn't really get a good idea of the whole Generator experience though. But I liked what I saw.

Rome is good, there's only one detail. If the room is quadruple they charge you separately for each towel. Breakfast at 6 euros for something modest and within what is cheap.

Very well received, very nice decor though it could have been a warmer hair in the room. The bar and the organized evenings very nice, good cocktails. A very good stay between the tourist districts and the student district, everything is easy to walk from the hotel.

Another great stay at the Generator. Clean and comfortable. Just don't expect to get an early night — they generally have DJs playing in the bar until late.

I just stayed one night but the staff was really nice. They had quite a nice breakfast and the whole price was pretty inexpensive. The only negative thing is that the neighborhood wasn't that great and the metro wasn't working at the time, so it took a little more patience to get around to the city. Other than that it was good!

This hostel is very nice, but I think it's overpriced. I've stayed in hostels all across Europe and was charged a lot less for more. Don't get me wrong, the hostel is nice and it's located in the city center. If you stay here you'll get a clean room and shower. However I think we should get a lot more for the price. For example we other hostels have included breakfast, dinner, and towels for no extra charge. Here you pay for everything.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Great location! Close to the Metro both Termini and Vittorio Emanuele. So clean and quiet. Great staff! I'm a big fan and can't wait to come back and stay again.

It was awesome. Everybody was so nice. The bed was great. And also the shower! I will come back, when I visit Rome again! :)

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are very good. The double room is spacious, comfortable and well-organized (hairdryer, towels, locker). Central area, a stone's throw from the station and the subway.

What do I have to say. Perfect in everything. This was our first hotel in our Europe tour and the first experience itself was mind-blowing. Simple loved everything they had in offer. Staff is very cooperative. This was the only hotel in our whole tour which had proper number of staff and waiters and people to work about. Whatever we asked was made available in our room. Good spread at the breakfast. It has all the amenities which you can think of. Perfect cleanliness and everything properly placed. The room we stayed in had a small balcony which had a great view. Internet, water heater kettle and such small small things really made things good for us. Simply loved to stay here and would love to come here again and again.

Location was a walking distance away from the train station, which was nice, but this part of the city is a bit shady. Shower water pressure was very low, not too clean, definitely not a 4 star level.

The hotel location is good, close to Termini at most 10 minutes by walk. The breakfast varries with different kinds of alternatives. The staff are professional meanwhile friendly and helpfull. The rooms have been renovated and clean. The room service is good and the rooms are kept clean. The building's fan works fine and keeps the air fresh but during the night you may feel cold during summer. So if you tell the reception they would shut down the fan for a while automatically. As a conclusion it is a nice hotel to explore Rome.

Hotel has good staff and gives you a nice feel of the place. Breakfast was also good. Big drawback is the location of the hotel, had to take a cab back to the hotel on the last day as we did not want to take chances on the location at all.

The receptionist was very nice. When we arrived at the airport, he told us the maximum expense for getting to the hostel, preventing us from being cheated. The room was great. Everything was perfect.

Middle of the night to the airport, the front Desk said we could only get a taxi to the hotel, and a reminder to us, the most expensive is not more than 55 euros, when in the room the air conditioning has provided for our good, room, space, Super, fully equipped, and clean. The hotel provided free Breakfast, plenty. Also, checkout time to tax, this is Rome, and the hotel.

Recent stay.
The location leaves much to be desired, in front of the entrance there were 2 cars burned.
In the evening around the hotel there is poor lighting and everything around is littered with human excrement especially liquids giving off a foul smell amazing. Bandits multirazze stationed in small groups threatening especially at night. It is not well connected to public transport.
The room was very small, barely could walk between bed and furniture. The Chair of the desk was unstable and dirty and I was afraid to sit down. The TV did not work well and the few visible channels were very disturbed. In the bathroom there was no Bidet (essential health for Italians) and the shower faucet was not working, the small trash can in the bathroom had the lid blown off. The racks were not secured to the wall. The temperature was not adjustable and starve to hot and I rested at all. For breakfast the vending machines were not hot enough and of poor quality. I protested because I was there (luckily) only 3 nights. The staff were adequately available. For me this is not worth more than three stars.

Good hotel when I was there, Summer 2013. Rooms were ok, AC, fridge and ok bathroom. Staff was helpful, breakfast was great. Location is on the edge to slum-area, but only 50-100m downtown it's all ok. Had no problems with the surroundings.

Sure, the location is not exactly the most desirable. And that matters, in the evaluation of a hotel. The fact that not all rooms comply with stated standards is another fact. That the rooms themselves could receive a more consistent and accurate maintenance is true and it would happen. However the fact that personnel wherever deployed (whether reception who dela restaurant or room service), is always available and friendly without ever becoming pushy are qualities that make a difference and that you feel comfortable in a structure, despite its location not 4 stars. Opinion: very positive.

The bar and maid service were very good and helpful. The staff behind the reception desk were very rude and arrogant and were not helpful at all. The hotel was located in a unsafe area and the bathrooms were far to small. Would not suggest anyone to stay there.

Although Hotel 4 stars, but the class is not very felt. I still one disturbing at first, then you get used to. The Italians only. Breakfast, like service, Italian laconic. For tourism to take Hotel closer to the Center, but for travel on the rail fits perfectly. Cons still slightly more than the pros.

Environment how multiple transport — Metro said not so pretty, but central location, 2 min, Termini station 10 min. And also the Carabinieri time directly on the hotel parking area absolutely safe despite some slightly dodgy figures. The House is well maintained and is expensive as actually not out — a better ambience deserved — then about probably but a lot
