If you are planning a visit to the Vatican, this hotel is an excellent choice for accommodations. It is conveniently located within a 6-10 minute walk to the museum and a mere 2-3 minute walk to the Cipro Metro station. There are also many nearby cafeterias, the hotel also offer breakfast and brunch options. The receptionists are very kind and helpful, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay.
While we enjoyed our stay at Mama Roma, no access to the pool and the dirtiness of the reception area were a big disappointment. Our bill should have been reduced since the pool and spa were closed. But there were many great things about this hotel:
— good gym.
— clean, comfortable room.
— great location for subway access and site seeing without being touristy.
— fantastic breakfast: healthy, abundant, and great variety of foods and drinks.
— helpful staff.
The decor at Mama Shelter was delightful, but the comfort even more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet offered all anyone could desire. We enjoyed the rooftop bar and the dining experience at night. Amazing hotel with super helpful staff. The cartoon motif is whimsical, and the photos of soccer stars in the elevator intermingled with ancient greats is interesting. Most unusual hotel.
