Not leaving the people who have booked at home, for example. Having an unexpected in the clinic, I'm going out with suitcase in hand to get to the hotel and calls me (I guess) one of the managers wondering where I am. I explain the unexpected in the clinic and that I am making sure to arrive as soon as possible. I am told to cancel the reservation and not to leave either. Moral: thank God I have a place to stay tonight or I would have found myself on the street. "He could have warned" was the response of those who called me to my dismay. Following this statement I apologize saying "he's right: I didn't think about it but I had a mishap and I was making sure to get there as soon as possible". No answer, I add: "so you don't wait for me and I can't come despite having booked? " "That's right. " "Congratulations" I say shocked to those I had on the phone who responds sarcastically with a "thank you to her for her kindness". The room, with hospitality refused, I am paying anyway because the possible refund is "at the discretion of the manager"… I repeat: thank God I have a place to stay for this night.
