Careful tricked into a non refundable rate by Expedia, in December, well Covid-19 and now flights there were canceled and they don't want to refund the room. They wanted me to pay them again for a later stay 80% of normal rate! 2 weeks in Italy and this is the only hotel that "doesn't understand"! This will be put on any review site I can find and is factual!

Beautiful hotel with beautiful furnishings. Clean. It’s own little jetty, so you can arrive by water taxi. Great location with the most helpful of staff! Highly recommend.

Don’t usually makes reviews but can’t be grateful enough for service this hotel offers. A Clean and homey atmosphere. From concierge to check out, all staff were very warm and helpful. I’m sorry I forgot the name of the nice gentleman who helped us out from check in until we checked out. Special mention to Ms. Memsie, very gracious and accommodating to our needs. She is definite a gem among the staff.

We’ve just returned from our second stay at this gem of a hotel.
The location is wonderful, it’s spotlessly clean and the staff are the most friendly, helpful people that you could hope for and nothing’s too much trouble.
We hope to stay again sometime soon.

An absolutely beautiful hotel, such beautifully decorated. The staff are wonderful, from the special ladies that clean the rooms to the reception staff all are amazing. Breakfast is just perfect, plentiful and a big variety.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet, tastefully decorated. The beds are comfortable and amenities excellent.
The reception staff are very helpful and can organise tours for you, or make suggestions on things to do.
For us, we had evenings sitting on the front balcony by th Grand Canal, having an evening drink, served by the staff wh introduced us to local cocktails.
It is a friendly hotel, so pleased we stayed there.

Really nice front of house staff but paying in excess of €200 per night for a small and cramped room that is an adjoining building, away from the canal is very disappointing! Check your room before arriving… not all warrant the price tag!

Perfect location facing the canal. Close to public water bus. Decor is beautiful, delicious breakfast and very attentive staff.

How else can the Grand Canal in Venice be described except One of a Kind? It is amazing to see and to use. We cruised the Canal a number of times during our stay on the waterbuses and also a small section in a Gondola and were amazed at how much of a lifeline this is for the city. It is the main freeway for Venice and always bustling with boats of all descriptions. There are the waterbuses and water taxis, Gondolas, delivery, garbage collection, police, ambulance and fire boats regularly using the unique Canal systems. An amazing thing to see.

This is the must place to go when in Venice. There are many ways to see the Grand Canal and if you can afford the €80 for a gondola then this is one of the best ways. If not the vaporetto takes you the whole length of the canal and you see all the main sites as well. A €20 all day travel card will let you take as many trips as you want in 24 hrs including to the islands as well.

A walk along the grand canal is a must whilst in Venice. As you wander around the alleys, you'll pass over numerous canals. The grand canal is the thick one that loops around the centre of Venice. Photographic opportunities great here.

Nice This is not a specific place to visit but when you visit lot of places it will be through grand canal. Along grand canal we have lot of tourist attractions. Never take taxi. Public transport is more than enough.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough if you want a small but immaculate, stylish and luxurious hotel in Venice. It is personal, spotlessly clean and our breakfast on the mini-terrace overlooking the canal every morning was lovely. The position is perfect: it is a couple of minutes from two vaparetto bus-stops, and 1 minute from one of the few bridges across the canal, as well as very close to the railway station. It is in a buzzy little area of Venice, at the top of S Croce, walking distance from dozens of restaurants and bars, but away from the crazy crowded area around San Marco or Rialto. Our double-aspect room (Dogaressa) overlooked the Canal and the little campo next to the hotel and was super-clean and well-serviced. The stand-out above all was the fantastic service. It was perfect. Friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. With nothing being too much trouble. The staff — from Anka on the desk, to the porters and lovely girls who served our breakfast — could not have been better. They were never stuffy, obsequious or over-bearing, but did everything needed to make our stay a wonderful one. This is a small hotel, with few facilities — hence a lack of 5th star — but if you want a well-placed, clean, friendly but luxurious hotel, I thoroughly recommend it.

The famous regatta was a speed competition between the small gondolas with two oars. The Grand Canal was the natural and sumptuous décor of this "Regatta" which is perfected over time. Now we are witnessing a parade of boats called "Bissone", with a large number of rowers. Multiple reconstructions costumed and all colors…

If you have never been to Venice, this is a must see! There are tons of boats, water taxi, water bus and gondolas on this canal. It is very relaxing to sit back and enjoy the view.

If you want to have a different view of the Grand Canal, I recommend you take the line 1 from the Santa Lucia station towards Lido.
Once you embark you can admire very suggestive views, ancient palaces and museums.
The canal ends at the San Marco stop, so if you don't want to continue to Lido you can get off here.

Very beautiful city full of water all around, its got amazing architecture, enjoyed Gondola ride through canals.

It is an incredible channel, with a surprising immensity, it is magical to travel and go under the different bridges that are found throughout the city.
I was fortunate to see the sunset from a ferry boat and it was a unique experience.

From the hotel itself, to the rooms (clean and beautiful), to the breakfast, and most importantly the staff (they actually read your room requests and try their best to honor it and even remember it! ), everything here was wonderful. The room was fit for a king. Great view in the morning and at night. I forgot the name of the woman that greated us when we first arrived (her shift ended at 11pm! ) but we knew we picked the right hotel right off the bat from the first conversation she had with us! All the staff was amazing and always had a warm, genuine smile. My fiance and I even got engaged here. I can't wait to come back one day! Highly recommended! Edit: forgot to mention, conveniently close to the train and quiet area at night which was a plus, too!

To turn both during the day with line 1 and at night, the service part San Marco (S. Zaccaria), a beautiful sightseeing tour that crosses the entire interior of the grand Canal in order to take pictures of impact. Advice however the tourist ticket from 1 day costs €20 is hard 24h, you can also turn at night on all boats including the islands.

Venezia, Venice, the great Canal is the "road" of liaison in Venice, by the way everything passes, the boats táxi, the boats of the police, the postal boats, the boats ambulances, the boats of the most diverse goods. The boats… and gondolas.

This hotel has the best location. Close to transport to/from Venice and main hub of station and vaporetto lines to most parts of the city and beyond. Despite its shabby chic exterior, we found the breakfast areas and bedrooms clean and with all the basics you might need. The staff were excellent for both their friendliness and efficiency. It doesn't have all the frills but we wanted someone well priced, convenient and clean. It was all of these things. We spent little time in the hotel as we were out most of the time. It provided exactly what we needed for a trip to Venice and I was more than happy and would recommend to anyone.

Most famous water way of Venice. Thounds of people cross this water way every day. One building more famous than the other one. The end with the big church Salute and a nice view on the doge palace.

This place is magical, it's a channel that has everything. The magic places are where the bridges that cross the canal are. Gondolas and restaurants service. They are not crowded in April, besides the weather is delicious, sunrise at 06:30 and dark at 20:00

The "beautiful calle"mas of the world on both sides can be appreciated countless palaces of great beauty I recommend taking Vaporetto 1 to tour it in its entirety.

If you are in Venice you can not take a gondola ride on the Grand Canal… although I have to say that I preferred the ride in the little canals within this wonderful city. Definitely romantic!

The Grand Canal, known as the "Canalazzo" by the Venetians, divides the city's historical centre into two parts. It is much more ancient than Venice, and the construction of the city on its banks has had to adapt to the path that the main waterway performs. The canal develops for about four kilometers and has the form of an inverted "s" having as two extremes the grafting of the Liberty Bridge and the basin of S. Marco.

Absolutely picturesque. I would advise entering Venice by train as the view exiting the station is such a stunning surprise compared to that of the bus terminal. The Grande Canale is a really beautiful spot, mind you, as is most of Venice. Worth a visit, especially with your partner.

Very culturally rich place, has magic and Enchanted, Venice is a city lost in time to enjoy calmly and without troubles.

In the winter it is a bit quieter in Venice and not so overflowing. Nevertheless, there is a lot of commotion on the Grand Canal and the numerous side channels. Amazing that everything from rubble to post is handled with the barge. The black and very lavishly decorated gondolas are always romantic. Watching the Gondolieries at work is a great pleasure. Cheaper than the €70 gondola is of course the water taxi, which in 10 min. Clock and visitors and locals quickly and safely from A to B brings.

The Grand Canal is the largest and most important of all the canals in Venice. Its four kilometres long traverse Venice dividing it in two.

Venice is a beautiful city, a maze of streets and passageways full of history and mystery.

I go there often for work and for pleasure I sail with friends of the place is always a novelty is always like it was the first time… Unique and irreproducible…

More than a canal, an aquatic museum where you will admire artistic and architectural works of extraordinary beauty.
On foot, or by Vaporetto (which I recommend), the experience is unparalleled. A pleasure for the eyes and the mind.

Pictures never set you up for how magnificent travelling down the Grand Canal is. On our first trip we took a water taxi from Marco Polo airport (I would recommend this, it's not to expensive). Arriving by Venice this way sets the scene for your trip. There is so much to see along the Grand Canal you could travel along it for years and always find something new.

Breathtaking walk to the shores of this great water highway that divides the great island of Venice in two. You can cross it in gondola by boat, in boat, by water bus, etc. But the best thing is to cross it walking over the arch of the impressive Rialto bridge. Don't miss it.

One of the many great things about Venice is the infamous gondola rides. We took a Gondola around the canals and it peaked out to the Grande for a few minutes then we went back into the city. While on the ride we noticed the bridge, not sure of the name forgive me, and we decided to walk the town later and get some great photos. First we noticed that it is a very touristy spot for photo and now gift shops. *Tip, don't buy anything here, better stores and prices off the Canal Grande. Worth the walk and it is free to take photos etc. Thanks for reading.

Just beautiful here, totally overflowing but nevertheless you have to have seen Venice once. We definitely come back!

Venice See and die… — or was it Rome? No matter! Venice is a dream! Unfortunately there was too little time here since the cruise began… a short flying visit to the Canal Grande with the vaporetto had to be but! We made it to St. Mark's Square — and the first impressions were a dream in spite of the bad weather! We will certainly have some more time to marvel at the beauty of this place.

Beautiful romantic city, nice cruises through the canals with boats or gondolas. The architecture is amazing, many historical sites, statues and museums. Lively city, full of commercial stores, cafe, bar and restaurants, one of the most popular destinations in Europe.

What is there to say except that it is magical, romantic, unique?

You have to get rid of those €50 and take the tour with the gondola because it deserves.

The best way to get around Venice.
Of course if you come to Venice, you have to navigate the grand Canal, either with a vaporetto, a gondola or a transoceanic cruiser entering and/or leaving the city.
It is a totally different experience to go through its "streets" through the canals full of water. It certainly offers a completely different perspective to the one that is walking through its streets. Obviously the best option is to take a gondola among several as the price is quite high for 2 people alone.

Dreamlike place you must have seen when you are travelling in Italy!

Venice is a beautiful city. It has amazing architecture. It's recommend to take a boat for a day to go around the city. Gondola ride is fun and a must here.

This Place is absolutely amazing, The staff are so attentive nothing is too much trouble great for information before you start you holiday.
Breakfast was everything you would need from Continental option or scrambled Or Boiled Eggs.
Rooms are comfortable and tastefully done.

The Venice motorway from which to admire the most famous buildings, palaces and bridges of the Serenissima. I recommend to take a complete tour by going up on the vaporetto: with Line 1, which makes all the stops, you go along the canal slowly and you can appreciate at best all the magnificent glimpses of the lagoon and take several photos.

There are other waterways that share its name, but the Venetian one does not fear comparisons.

Worse than Corso Buenos Aires in Milan. Unbelievable how accidents don't happen. Between Vaporettos, motorboats, gondolas and boats of all kinds amazing how they manage to extricate themselves!

Famous canal across Venice. Very touristy, the already high prices are doubled here whatever you have. You can't even enjoy the view during peak season as you'll be pushed away in no time. Locals hate tourists.

It's in Venice, it's full of boats and even more tourists. So take your pick. You can have a drink next to the grand canal but 10 metres further on, drinks are half the price. But it seems tourists like that.

Very nice canal in Venice!

If you want to complete your visit in this wonderful city you have the obligation to take the Canal Grande, with any of the nautical means available, either a gondola, a taxi or simply public transport. Is a must.

It was nice experience sitting on the dock in chilling weather with having heater on top of each table.! Would recommend to everyone going to Venice to visit this place.! Nice staff and nice food.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the room was great and the hotel is centrally located to shopping and dining. It is also very close to the train station which is convenient if you plan to travel elsewhere in Italy or just to get back to the airport. I really enjoyed the staff they made my first trip to Venice a very nice experience. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a hotel that is quite but still centrally located to the shopping and dining.

The location is great. It's in the quieter part of town, but really close to Pl Roma and the train station. So great for getting in and out quickly. But you can also easily walk to the main attractions from here, or take a water taxi. The style is unique… it feels like an authentic old house on the inside. Wifi is very slow and sometimes not available — which is a bummer when you try to get work done.

Fantastic. A two minute walk from the airport bus drop off or the train station (right across the canal). Very well kept and amazing staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They'll give you a map, directions and recommendations for anything you need. Their breakfast is extensive and we ate outside right on the canal. We only spent one night in Venice, it was the first night of our honeymoon and they upgraded us from a side room to one with a view of the canal, free of charge, simply because it was available (April 29th). I highly highly recommend this hotel.
