Review of Grand Hotel Salsomaggiore 5*

We booked for Grand Hotel Salsomaggioire incl, breakfast, spa access and a spa package. But unfortunately only the breakfast was included and not the spa for 30 euros per person per day. This turned out to be a nasty situation that ruined the holiday for us. Hotel staff said we had to pay for the sauna, but I had proof that did not have to. We had contact with Secret Escapes and they told us they were working on it. Meanwhile, they once again insisted that we had to sign and after 4, 5, 6 times they told us that Secret escapes could do nothing else anymore and that we had to pay it ourselves. So yes, I had no more argument not to sign. Then I called secret escapes and I was told I should not have signed because secret escapes was still working. Either way Hotel staff had lied to us and we experienced this as very unpleasant. Then I returned to the hotel staff, calling them the person. She came and she literally said she was lei e dramatio and she scared because of me standing there. I understand enough Italian to understand what was said. After this deception we went out of the spa (paid). The fun was over for the day following three days. After this unpleasant and annoying situation we have not been to the spa anymore while we were delighted to have picked the hotel for it. I understood that there was a problem with the booking regarding spa access + spa treatment package, but the way in which this was done, I wasn't charmed by. The problem was between secret escapes and the hotel but we got the trouble! Something which in my opinion had not to be our problem. We were on holiday and the hotel was having a problem with secret escapes, we had proof that we had booked for a complete package incl, breakfast, spa access and a spa package.
