B&B Hotel Modena

I want to start by acknowledging the front desk staff, who were kind and genuinely tried their best to assist during my stay. Unfortunately, their efforts couldn’t make up for the numerous issues I encountered at this location.
My experience was marked by several problems, starting with the TV in my room not working on the first night. Then, on Christmas Day, I returned to my room only to find it filled with the smell of marijuana, clearly coming through the vents from another guest's room. While the hotel relocated me to another room that night, the smell returned the following day when I was moved yet again due to availability issues. This meant I had to change rooms three times over a four-night stay—an incredibly inconvenient experience.
In the third room, the marijuana smell once again came through the vents, making my stay unbearable. While I understand the hotel cannot directly control every guest's behavior, I believe more could have been done to address the issue promptly. If I could smell it so clearly, it seems reasonable that hotel staff could have identified and stopped the source.
To make matters worse, the showers in all three rooms were a frustrating experience. The water temperature fluctuated constantly, alternating between hot and cold, and never staying consistent. Additionally, the poor design of the shower in my third room caused water to leak out onto the bathroom floor, leaving it flooded after each use.

Limited stay choices in Modena, came across this one and it’s 60euro without breakfast and excluding city tax. Room unlocked with passcode, nice view from window. Location isn’t exactly walking friendly unless you don’t mind walking 30 mins from town centre, there’s a bus stop in front so you’re good too but check the bus schedule on Google Map. We arrived half an hour earlier and reception kindly let us check in before 2pm. However the previously used towel still remained in the shower. Other than that the cleanliness is good. My only complaint is that the bed sinks so deep in the middle part I suspect is the bed is losing or missing structure. I wouldn’t say I got a good sleep during my stay, unfortunately.

I traveled to Modena on a work trip with 17 other faculty and students from the United States. The hotel was conveniently located, clean, and filled with staff who went out of their way to be accommodating. I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and currently teach the subject of customer service. I could not have done it better myself.

The rooms were great. Bed was comfy. The staff had great recommendations and a lot of the stores/markets were within walking distance. We grabbed food across the street at a local Italian shop and it was amazing!

This B&B hotel is not typical to the chain, instead it is a conversion of an older 4* hotel where the rooms were styled in a sort of art moderne format. My room was very large, with a large bathroom down a small hallway within the room. Jokingly, with all of the built in cupboards and closets, you could almost play hide and seek in the room. My room was quiet, clean, and used good quality linens. When I arrived, parking was not available in the free lots, so I used the parking garage. If you arrive later in the day, there will be plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast was OK, but not noteworthy. It is a short walk into the old town from the hotel.

A nice place to stay, not too far from Bologna where I was attending Cersaie, well located, clean with friendly staff, Room was a good size, clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good with a selection of drinks hot and cold food. I have stayed in hotels in Italy many times and this was definitely one of the better stays. Hats off to the staff who were all friendly and efficient. The only thing I didn’t like was the late check in process, which was slow. When you’re tired after a long day traveling it was quite frustrating.

**Good First Impression, but Rooms and Hallways Disappoint**
The first impression from the outside was positive, and the helpful, friendly staff made the check-in experience pleasant.
I especially liked the small “kiosk” at reception, offering snacks and various hygiene items. The breakfast was also good, and the dining area felt inviting.
Unfortunately, the way to the room and the room itself were less appealing. There was a very musty smell in the hallway, likely due to the old carpet. The room itself was dark because of the wooden paneling and also had an unpleasant odor.
As long as the rooms and hallways are not modernized, I would neither return to this hotel nor recommend it to others.

To be honest the service is impeccable, I love this hotel.
I did the reservation for a twin room without realizing that it was a room with two separate beds; the staff was incredibly helpful and helped me to change the reservation to a double room without any extra charge.
The room was clean, big and quiet!
Great Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
The prices are low considering the quality of the rooms.
They have a private parking, they charge 5 euros per day, which is actually pretty cheap for a private parking.

For the price it’s.
Worth it. The rooms are dated and there is slight mould in the bathrooms but this is usual in Europe.
We enjoyed our stay, it was a 20minute walk to city.
Service was impeccable though, the reception staff are wonderful!

Hotel is nice, rooms are bit small, but at the same "level" as in other hotels in Modena. Also shower is a bit small ;), but again, the same compared to other hotels I've stayed. Breakfast is very good and everyone find something for himself (cold dishes, warm dishes, sweets and some vegetables as well). Close to the hotel you can find few restaurant and walking distance to the city center is 20-30 min (depend how fast you walk). For me good solution was underground parking (it is paid, but I had rental car with basic insurance). As weather was hot I can really confirm that there is good AC at the hotel.

Hotel very eco friendly and modern — no room key just a code. Bit of a walk into town and excellent ice cream place in walking distance. Good breakfast. Free parking. Walked to Ferrari museum but didn’t bother to pay €30 to go in. Had lovely meal in Modena. Lovely square with lots of restaurants.

I had a good stay at the older, but well-maintained B&B Hotel Modena. The room was clean and the bed comfortable; the large window could be opened, which was nice. The only thing I would mention is about the shower: while it was quite spacious and worked fine, a pretty high step is required to climb into it, and there are no bars to assist. I’m 70 with no mobility issues so it wasn’t a problem, but it certainly could be tricky for someone who does have them, and also a safety consideration for a small child. Nothing a step stool couldn’t fix. The hotel has kind of a hostel vibe, but the front desk staff were great, assisting everyone with information, directions and dining suggestions. I was solo, but my wife and young daughter would have been fine staying here. Can’t really comment on the location; it was fine for me, as I was specifically in town to go to the Maserati factory, which I was able to walk to.

It is a hotel near the center with a large and convenient parking.
The rooms are well furnished, equipped with all amenities and very clean.
The breakfast buffet is very rich and varied.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
Very reasonable prices and content.
Highly recommend!

Friendliness / hospitality and a lot of order always with care.

Room for 4 large, practically two communicating rooms with the bathroom in the center, salty or sweet breakfast of your choice, excellent welcome, perfect cleaning, TV 40 '', warm room, we will definitely come back because we really liked the city.
