Al Capello Rosso is a beautiful hotel right in the city center. The location is ideal to explore the beautiful city of Bologna. Service was excellent when I checked in. The lady at the reception was very helpful in searching for a parking space, even though I had not reserved the hotel garage ahead of time. This is a definite recommendation if you don't want to search for the blue boxed parking spaces. The themed room I was in (Olivetti) was wonderful. The AC was pretty silent and the room was nice and cool while the temperature outside was 35°C. The room had plenty of amenities like a teapot with a good selection of tea, a bathing gown and so on. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast service was good as well with Italian sweets and some international options like scrambled egg. I can only recommend to eat like a local instead of opting for the continental breakfast! When traveling to the hotel by car, watch out for the road signs. There are roads you are not allowed to drive through and you can generally only enter the center on your way to the hotel. Traffic in general is a bit cutthroat in the area with motorbikes overtaking you left and right and everyone generally driving like madmen. I would stay at Al Capello Rosso again for a vacation in Bologna, but I would leave the car :)

Have been on five occasions. Twice in the hotel and three times in apartments they own. Would recommend and all the staff are great.

The only thing I can positively value is the location. When you get there and the first thing you do is put paste better not come back. Price was very small and the room was very good.

We ate very well, the restaurant there was recommended and did not betray the expectations. Price OK, quality OK.

A secular Hotel, centrally located, which you can be surprised by its modernist decor surrounded by such reverential architecture. Impeccable service. Try the lasagna, the tortellini, the famous handmade sausage or the rice cakes… Cozy, according to which location of the windows of your room you can admire the surroundings. Thanks a lot.

Place in the center behind Piazza Maggiore is an excellent and convenient starting point for a visit to the city of Bologna.

Lovely botique hotel well situated in the old city. Our room had fantastic power shower. For a person with arthritis so great not have to try and shower in the bath. Great value and would recommend.

Nice hotel. Great friendly service. Nice rooms. But the lobby and hallways feel very cramped… Also the Wi-Fi is extremely slow… It's like using a dialup connection. The Wi-Fi needs to get better.

Great location, very friendly staff helped us find the best places to eat and drink. Room was a good size, bed was comfy. Bathroom was big with a great shower. Wi-Fi was down throughout our stay which was to no fault of the hotel. Breakfast was also very good. The only thing I'd change in the hotel is a more updated TV, but that's just me.

The best hotel in the city center of Bologna. A bit expansive but I will return soon.

Service at the reception was friendly, although a little stressed out. We booked an apartment, which are near the hotel, but in another building. The room is large, but nothing special.

Great service and an awesome location.

Very disappointing experience indeed. Had booked a three night stay in November, but had to cancel due to the earthquakes in Italy as other bookings had been cancelled as well. Al Cappello Rosso simply refused to cancel and refund, sticking to the policy to the letter, showing no flexibility, no understanding, no heart and no common business. Wouldn't give them my business no matter how nice the hotel — these are bad people who run a bad business.

Spacious and comfortable …

Perfecto hotel. We have stayed for 4 nights and the staff here have been very helpful. The room was fantastic and very comfortable. Situated very close to all the amenities. Highly recommend to others.

Absolutely wonderful. I felt instantly welcome. Antonella was a huge help even though I had many many questions and was mostly uninformed when I arrived. Diego and George were super helping me store and assemble and pack my bicycle… which they so easily accommodated with pleasure… they treated it gently and carefully too… just like I treat it… something most people don’t do with oddball items. Sergio didn’t even bat an eye when I was up at dawn to ride. Marianna’s morning kindness, helpfulness, friendliness, and smile made me feel at home at solo post bicycle ride breakfasts. Maybe it was my bicycle,, though every single person there recalled my name the second time they saw me. How often does that happen? It is in a perfect location, just steps away from the Piazza Maggiore. My apartment was spacious enough for a family. The bed and pillows the most comfortable of any in Italy and superior to even some of the best places I’ve stayed in Washington DC and other major metropolitan areas around the world.

We spent only one night in this Hotel, but we should have stayed more. Our room was large, clean and quiet, with the kind of attention to details that you'd expect on a 4S hotel. The staff was extremely friendly, even when it came to guide me through around 4351 maneuvers to park my car in the tiny parking of the hotel. Breakfast was, to be fair, nothing special — one can have a better one in the bars in the city. The position, however, was amazing: literally 50 meters from the very center of the city, close to the night life, the sightseeing streets and the shopping areas: we could not have asked for anything better. Getting to the hotel by car was also a bit challenging, having to dodge in the small streets in the city center, but again we found absolutely no traffic in getting from there to the highway the day after.

Central location, staff very helpful, well cared for throughout, great breakfast, great value for money. I hope to return as soon as possible. My heartfelt congratulations!
