Domus Clugiae - Residenza dEpoca

We had absolutely great time only thanks to Signora Sandra at the reception. She is the "soul of the residence", she is kind, smiling, helpful, open-minded person, who responds every question and do all possible for guests to feel well. Why I am writing this is the reason, we had completely different feelings talking to the manager/owner, who surprised us very negative way (after viewing reviews on the internet) Also the staff at the breakfast was bit strange, no smile, no interest.
As I saw/hear complaints of other guest at the reception, I think it's a pitty for this place with sooooooo great potential.
Anyway the location of this place is strategic and we enjoyed atmosphere of the town.
Rooms were simply but well furnished. The beds were comfy. Room service was above average.
Breakfast first day was really limited compare to next day when we finally could enjoy also continental breakfast and wide variety of seasonal homemade cakes.
It's not our first stay in Chioggia, so hope to return soon and I am opened to give the second chance to Residence Domus Clugiae.

Our room was filled with hot, stagnant air during the last few days of May. Large open windows did not bring in a breeze and couldn't be left open at night due to mosquitos. The AC was obviously working in the rest of the hotel as the common area outside our hallway was about 7 degrees cooler.
Our thermostat seemed to be working but the air would not kick on. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told the AC was not working because "it is May. " With no ceiling fan, I was forced to go to a local hardware shop and purchase a stand fan for 35 euros. Even with this rotating over us at night, my daughter and I had trouble sleeping on top of the covers.
FYI, we are from south Texas and are not wimps when it comes to heat. I wish I would have known when booking that it was up to management whether or not I could have air flow in my room.
On a separate note, their TV menus are locked so that you cannot switch the audio or subtitles to another language; they are permanently set on Italian.

Quiet place clean nice staff, feels like home, we will be back for sure 🥰

Friendliness and kindness are the qualities of all the staff together with the great cleanliness and the convenient location to everything, make this hotel the ideal place to spend happy days.
Also excellent tips for eating in restaurants in the surroundings.

I have been there several times and coming back is always a pleasure. Low prices, recent rooms, cleanliness, hearty and tasty breakfast, very friendly staff. I recommend it to everyone!

Centrally and easily located, the Domus is OK, but not what I was expecting from the pictures I saw. I made reservations well in advance for a specific type of room and confirmed 20 days before arrival, and still, "they made a mistake". OK, it happens, but it was disappointing. I wasn't told there was parking at the hotel until I got there but I found good space on the street. Breakfast was good. Be aware that there is no heat after April 1, and it was very cold and rainy this May. Lots "what can we do? " The room costs here are very reasonable, and the rooms, albeit plain, are clean. It is well located, but they need work on organization.
