Review of La Residenza Capri 4*

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the view, which was great. However, every other aspect of our stay here was miserable. Couldn’t pay me to stay here again. The worst part of our stay was the noise —Walls are so thin that I couldn’t get any sleep. Could literally hear the guy in the room next door snoring all night, people upstairs moving chairs around and could also hear conversations through the walls. The bed was a California queen (two single beds put together) that was very uncomfortable. Paper thin sheets and no comforter. Breakfast was eh… everything left out uncovered and lukewarm. Had an ant invasion on our balcony. Staff sprayed all the ants, but left the dead ants on the balcony. People upstairs smoking cigs and throwing butts down to our balcony. Cleaning staff gave one knock and barged in the room at 9:15 when I was still in bed trying to actually catch some sleep. Had to carry my bags up to the room (not that I’m stuck up and can’t do it myself, but if I’m paying as much as I am for the room And the hotel touts itself as being a 4 star hotel I would expect someone to assist with our luggage like any other decent hotel). No key card, just a 5 pound block of steel w a key attached to it you have to lug around. Not sure how this is showing up as a 4 star hotel— other than the view I have nothing positive to say about this place. I have stayed in grimy motels in the middle of nowhere in the US that were more enjoyable than this experience. Save yourself the trouble and money and stay in sorrento for the evening. Just an absolutely miserable experience. I’ve never given an online review for anything before and this experience was so poor I felt it a necessity to spend the time to write this so others don’t have to go through the same ordeal as we did.
