Hotel Villa Blu Capri

Felt compelled to right a review after all the negative comments. While this is certainly not a 5 star hotel and you should not stay here if you expect 5 star service and accommodations. Located in the heart of Anacapri and just steps from the taxi and bus stations. Very friendly reception but she did offer us welcome beverages and to sit outside — only to have 3 other staff ask us what we would like to drink. The pool is not well maintained — the tiles were crumbling and we had to seek out towels to use. The room although in need of a face lift was clean, water hot and AC nice and cool. The breakfast has loads of options and very friendly and helpful breakfast attendant.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Blu Capri for our honeymoon, and it was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. On arrival, the elevator wasn’t working and there was a leak in the corridor. By the second night the Wi-Fi stopped working, then the power went out — meaning we couldn’t shower and didn’t get the breakfast we had paid for. We complained about the lack of hot water three times, were moved to a new room, and still had no hot water until a service employee finally admitted he would “turn up the temperature” on the water tank — proof the hotel was cutting costs at guests’ expense. The new room also had black mold, broken lights, and damaged fixtures.
The pool was disgusting, covered in green algae, and being filled with a garden hose that was left across the ground as a tripping hazard. Towels and drinks were not readily available, and the bar was rarely staffed. Drinks were overpriced (€17 for a Prosecco), and we ended up with a €100 pool bar bill that the hotel refused to remove, even as a gesture of goodwill. They even tried to charge us €20 for a bucket of ice until I complained.
When I calmly raised these issues with staff, I was told there was nothing they could do. I was instructed to email an address for compensation, only to be told they “do not have compensation forms. ” No apology, no acknowledgment, and no effort to put things right.
This place is dirty, unprofessional, and utterly mismanaged. I wouldn’t let my dog stay here, never mind recommend it to anyone.

Beware of false advertisement! This hotel is no where near the standards of a 5 star hotel and should be fined for advertising such. It is a 3 star hotel at the most. We had a terrible leak in the bathroom that made it almost impossible to use the vanity and had no hot water in the shower during our 3 day stay. We were promised another room and never received it. We discussed these issues with the concierge on duty and asked for a discounted rate but we were told “I am unable to do that”
If you want to pay 5 star prices for a maybe 3 star hotel then waste your money. I would never recommend this hotel and would never go back.

This hotel was a complete disappointment on an otherwise amazing trip.
This is not a 5 star hotel.
We were checked into our classic room, in the basement we. It smelled of mould and lacked deep cleaning. They spent some time on their screen and made it look like they were doing us a huge favour telling us they could upgrade us for €100 per night bringing our nightly rate to €500. They showed us the room and we accepted.
Upon closer look, the bathroom lacked deep cleaning, the tub did not drain and the Jacuzzi jets did not work. They blamed it on a recent power outage, but it’s now apparent that was just an excuse and it hadn’t worked for some time. We all know that Jacuzzi tubs have built in surge protection specifically for that.
The pool area was very nice. However, the pool itself was dirty and grimy in all the edges and corners.
After reading other reviews here, the whole upgrade thing is a farce, they offered many others a free upgrade after discovering the mouldy smell in the basement rooms. We found current rates for this hotel while we were there that were half of our booked rate.
When we addressed our complaints before checkout, we were assured that their admin department would email us a response to our request to refund our upgrade cost. We never heard from them.
Beware of this hotel. Read the screenshot reviews attached to support mine.

A once in a lifetime holiday ruined by poor standards.
No hot water.
Mouldy pool — unsafe to swim in.
Air Conditioner louder than a car engine.
Lift out of service.
Ceiling leak forced us out of room for the day with no explanation, no apology.
Despite raising all of this with management, nothing has been resolved and no compensation offered. For the price we paid, this was absolutely unacceptable and not the luxury experience we expected in Capri.

Avoid This Hotel – A Complete Scam.
We were forced to pay extra to change our first room, which was uninhabitable due to poor ventilation, mold, and a terrible smell. Even in the new room, problems continued — on the last day the bathroom started leaking.
The staff are polite but powerless. Both the “luxury” and “economy” rooms were terrible. No complimentary water is provided, and they charge €7 for a single bottle. It took two days to see the manager, who was aware of all issues but did nothing.
We only expect from a hotel a clean room, a safe place for our baggage, and a clean bed to sleep, so we can enjoy exploring during the day and night. This hotel fails completely. If you want to ruin your Capri visit like we did, BluCapri is the right hotel.

We had booked a room for 2 nights at this 5* hotel. The classic room turned out to be in the basement, but with a window/door out to a tiny terrace. The smell of mold was really bad and we could not stay in that room. To get another room we had to pay 350€ extra per night. Total rip off, as we had already paid 550€ per night.
We asked to talk to the manager, and we also asked to get our money back so we could stay at another hotel. None of these was possible.
The other room was much better, but far from worth the price. It was mold in the shower, but at least the room did not smell of mold.
It pretty much ruined the start of our holiday and we will of course never come back to this hotel or recommend to anybody.
The location is quite good. We did not try the restaurant as we wanted as little as possible to do with the hotel.

We went to eat lunch at Villa Blu Capri on July 21, 2025. The restaurant had a cute, charming atmosphere. The daily menu specials included homemade lasagna and fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The food was good and our server was friendly. We ordered lasagna, fettuccine alfredo with chicken, bottled water, coke zero, and peach tea. The shock came when our bill arrived. The service fee was $19. This is a 35% upcharge! The meal cost $41 and then we had a $19 service fee. A mandatory $19 service fee is ridiculous. What a ripoff! Think twice before eating here.

Extremely bad experience at the restaurant. In a bill of 350 euros they overcharged us by 150 euros, totaling 500 euros. They charged each beer 15 euros (standard 400ml size) while the price of the beer is NOWHERE mentioned, neither in the food menu nor in the drinks menu. They also charged a cover of 5 euros per person, while this is also NOWHERE mentioned in the menus or anywhere in the restaurant as a label. On top of that, they charged 2 extra beers. Seeing this absurd charges, we tend to think that this was not a mistake, they were just hoping we will not see the extra 30 euros they charged. We complained and we told them we will follow all legal procedures. At the end they removed the cover charge of 60 euros and the two beers, reducing the bill by 90 euros. About the food, the fish was good. But the pizza we got for the children was very bad. Extremely bad experience, trying to make money from tourists.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Anacapri, walking distance to the chairlift, restaurants, public transport and retail shopping. We were there for 4 days and fortunate to see local street markets and celebrations where we amassed with locals singing and dancing and ate pizza and gnocchi. Highly reccommend this hotel, welcoming staff, fabulous artwork, a beautiful full breakfast, bar, restaurant and stunning pool. Our room was in the basement which at first we ere concerned but when we found our little outdoor nook we werd very happy as ut privided some much needed shade and coolling area. What more could you want?

We did not stay here but stopped for snacks and cocktails a couple of times. Staff very welcoming Manuela was terrific host both times we stopped in. The potato salad was light at tasty, the burrata with peaches was also a nice touch. It for me the experiment with a couple of cocktails was my highlight. Guilin created some nice drinks for us. — Whisky sour was delicious and then I tried a Midori melon sour. My fiend had the local lemon spritzer.

We had lunch at the restaurant in the Main Street. It was lovely, good music, excellent staff and service. Craft beer, lasagne and ravioli caprese. Very enjoyable. Good prices considering it was a hotel too. The head waitress was very personable and professional.

We were relocated here from a hotel in Capri, which we were fine with. I had specifically booked a room at the other hotel with a jacuzzi for my pregnant wife since we were planning on doing a lot of hiking. They "Upgraded" the original booked room from the other hotel to a" junior suite with partial sea view". We were fine with it since it was going to have a jetted tub and AC as stated on their website.
The tub did not work and we called reception to help. They came up and said "sorry it is not working and the handy man would not be here until after you leave" since we were only staying for one night. We also asked her about the A. C since it was hot and humid in the room. She responded that the island does not turn on the A. C until mid May. Which is not advertised on the website or we would've waited to come until then since my wife has a hard enough time sleeping anyways. There are also no nets on the balconies so when we opened the door to cool off bugs started flying in and it was really loud/bright being next to the street. For that kind of money the room does not reflect the quality you would expect from a "5 star hotel" with barely no view of the sea it was wild. Upon check out they didn't ask us anything and just informed us that we paid in full and we were set.

We have a room reserved and they are saying we have to do a wire transfer for anything over $500. Is that right? We have given a credit card. I am skeptical to wire money internationally. Has anyone had this happen? We don’t know whether this is a scammer.

We couldnt make it from sorrento or anywhere on amalfi to capri due to bad seas and ferries being cancelled, they wouldnt reimburse cost and neither would insurance company Safety Wing. Front desk was rude as well any time we tried to communicate.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Blu Capri a few days ago for a long weekend 9/26-9-29.2024 we had reserved a suite capri con roof top vista mare was printed on our reservation at a cost of 3, 744.33 US dollars including tax. For this price point we received a subterranean room 106. It measured 14 x 12 feet with a bed a tiny table and a refrigerator. This suite opened up to basement level that after climbing 4-5 stairs you were looking at the pool and the entrance to the wait staff entry to the Kitchen. Where every waiters that walked by would glance in as it could not be helped and the kitchen staff is working with their door open so along with the club music the pool plays loudly you also get to experience and hear the daily conversation of kitchen staff.
This location was absolutely not what we booked. When asked where the hot tub outside area that we were sold was. We were then walked out of the room down the hall and up an elevator to the rooftop, back down another hall and to our surprise they hung another room number of 106 outside a makeshift partitioned room on the roof. The rooftop space was split into 3 different partitions and unbelievably one area (in the back next to the hotels areas of supplies were there were was not a view except other roofs and this was actually unbelievably labeled as part of our suite.

One of the best hotels I've visited in terms of service, guest care, and providing top-notch amenities, with a motto of "Guest satisfaction comes first. " The staff was incredibly polite, starting with the manager who welcomed us, and the reception team as well. I would give it seven stars, not just five. 👍🏼
