Review of Art Hotel Gran Paradiso 4*

Simply lovely… My wife and me spent eight days in Gran Paradiso Hotel in May 2018 and we both have been positively impressed. Transfer time from Neaples Airport is around an hour by bus and around eighty minutes if you arrive by standard train. Prices for the latter should be around 3, 40 Euros per adult. The hotel itself is situated on a small mountaineous slope at city of sorrents and boasts an impressive view over the golf of Neaples. … A shuttle service in the hotel will connect you directly with the center of Sorrento. So you have a good access to shopping, gastronomy, the railway station (connecting you to Pompeii, Herculaneum and the City of Neaples, each tour costing around three euro per adult) and the nearby harbour (where you can purchase a ferry ticket to Ischia, Neaples or Capri) Transfer time from hotel to Sorrento downtown is around 15 to twenty minutes outside rush hours. Service for hotel guests is free of charge. The shuttle bus in general connects the hotel with Sorrento on an hourly base. The reception is very friendly, kind and helps in all issues, including arrangement of sightseeing tours. The rooms either have frontal or sidewards view over the gulf of Neaples and the mountains of Sorrento peninsula. Size of rooms is rather standard, yet their cleanliness has been the best one I have experienced in thirteen years of traveling. The hotel restaurant offers continental breakfast, supper and dinner. We did not try out supper, so we can't really say something about it. The dinner consists of three courses and offers elegant and tasty traditional Italian cuisine. The staff in the hotel restaurant is enormously friendly and kind. The guest structure in the hotel was upon the time of our arrival around 40 percent English and American Guests, 30 percent German and around 25 percent Italian and 5 percent French (based on my own subjective estimations). Age structure was mainly 50 years and plus, with some younger people around. So, if you ask me if I could recommend this hotel for friends or family, I would answer : 'Of course I would recommend it. The landscape is simply awesome, the hotel lovely and the staff is enormously friendly. The food is fine too and you have a good connection to Sorrento City, to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Neaples. In fact we are already thinking about coming back in June 2019. So of course I can recommend it for further travels. '
