This is not the hotels fault but getting a good night's sleep is next to impossible. Traffic outside is constant and the locals use their car horns constantly. Bottle collection at 4am wakes you up, the church bells at 7am wake you up. The hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful, the coffee in the morning was very very nice. The hotel is perfectly situated however could do with a few improvements. Only one of the plug sockets in our room works. The bed is rock hard, some people like that. Our room had been broken into in the past, and the door jam poorly repaired, as the safe is only screwed to a wooden wardrobe we took our valuables with us. You can only get in the hotel by being buzzed In so I guess only guests and staff can get in. The breakfast is nice, lots of local pastries, some fruit and cereals… and local coffee and juices. Overall a nice honest hotel but extremely loud.

Staff. Nice, clean room. Great location for excavations and sanctuary. Private and free parking is very convenient. Recommended.

Friendly place, friendly staff and fairly served breakfast, the only flaw: they are the beds, uncomfortable, but to stay there one night I would recommend it. Consider that there are rooms located outside the hotel, which are reached through the parking lot. The hotel is located in the right place to reach the "digs of Pompeii" and the "church", along a boulevard of small shops.

Wonderful and perfect location as it's situated in the city center and on a main street. For those who are light sleepers, weekends may be too loud with cars passing and honking and people talking late into the night. But for heavy sleepers like us, it wasn't a problem. In fact, it was nice knowing that there were so many people around (couples, families, groups of friends) because as a result, shops and eateries stayed open quite late, the street was well lit and due to these things, we felt quite safe (that is, in our room or if out, staying on the main street). It's just a few blocks from the train station which is very convenient. We stayed in the 1st floor suite and it was very clean, good sized with a living area with a (wobbly) table, armchair, and couch, a sleeping area with a springy comfortable bed, a desk with a mini fridge hidden within the cabinet area, a bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower, lots of towels, hair dryer, automatic foamy hand soap dispenser, a small balcony, air conditioning, TV, lots of lighting, an armoire, mirrors. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices were good and varied, but may seem a bit underwhelming for American/Canadian guests. No eggs! (The few) Drawbacks: the noise may be a problem for some, no real rubbish bin (we used plastic bags, not pretty, but it worked), no bar soap (the dispenser soap can't possibly be used in the shower and the body/hair wash they offer is not practical without a loofah).

My family and I spent a week there, I have to say that the hotel is very clean and cared for with prepared staff and very friendly, good breakfast and ideal location to get to the various sites, recommended place.

The staff at Hotel Santa Caterina Pompei were fabulous, Christina was especially nice. The rooms was clean and breakfast was very tasty.

The staff were very helpful Very cozy room. When we return to Pompeii we will definitely stay at this hotel! Great!

I put 2 stars and not one because the breakfast is very good.

We have just got back from a wonderful 2 days in Pompeii can recommend this hotel it is one of the best I have stayed in. Rooms clean n tidy complimentary toiletries n staff are brilliant couldn’t do enough for you. Car park is brill n sun lounge’s are comfortable n private. Breakfast although contentinental sets you up fir the day. Highly recommended n thankyou for an amazing stay Hotel Santa Caterina.

Lot of noise from the street if you are on the side of the street, but I was there during the week end, before the new year, so it's probably like that everywhere in Italia. The hôtel was nice overall and the breakfest was excellent. The people working there are FANTASTIC!

Nice hotel ideally located in Pompeii (between the ruins and the city center), perfect for a stay to 2 or family. Parking is a plus not negligible, especially in the middle of August when the city is storming. The reception was very warm, especially thanks to Cristina who was very benevolent, good advice and helpful. I recommend the establishment; I will go back myself with great pleasure!

Noisy and no frills. Was provided with a small hand towel as room service forgot to supply bath towels. Little things to disappoint and not much to counter that.

Great rooms for the price. Friendly staff. Right across from the Pompei ruins. Plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. Great bakery across the street.
