SOLMARIS TROPEA City Center - Rooms & Suites - Private Parking

Very nice hotel, just a short walk away from the old town of Tropea, bars, restaurants and beaches. The breakfast was great and the rooftop terrace offers a nice view of the sea and Stromboli volcano. The rooms and the restaurant were clean and the staff was friendly.
Although, on saturday night, the local kids were going around and around the hotel on loud motorbikes/scooters and they were EXTREMELY loud until 1 AM. Even with the windows closed, we could’t sleep beacause of them so the soundproofing is not the best. I am not sure if this happens every weekend, but during our stay it was very disturbing, as you can hear in the video.

We stayed in another property from the same owner, Holiday House Nuvola Tropea, next to Solaris. We found bedbugs in our room, and when we told the owner, we received disrespectful and dismissive treatment. No one apologized, and they refused to refund the remaining three nights so we could stay elsewhere.
Their only offers were a small, almost windowless room 20 minutes away or to fit five people into a two-person room here at Solaris. They even asked which bed had the bugs so they could probably treat just that one, suggesting a temporary fix instead of proper pest control.
Sadly, this experience ruined our stay in Tropea. I strongly advise avoiding Solaris and the owner’s other properties.

What a great hotel! Bright, clean and excellent location… just a short walk into town. Front desk staff Mimma & Dorothy were great! So helpful with answering questions and recommendations! The breakfast was 10*. Francesca was so attentive. She had an amazing spread of freshly baked goods and accommodated all our requests. Would highly recommend this property!

A stunning hotel with immaculate rooms which are modern, clean and show little signs of use. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Sunset from the rooftop terrace was a nice bonus, there is no bar up there so you can take your own drinks. Breakfast was excellent and featured local specialties as well as more common breakfast items. All were fresh, tasty and plentiful. The car park was a little tight, and the rooms a little noisy. A partition or door between the first floor and the stairs would be beneficial as noise from reception can be heard on that floor and not all guests are considerate. I would definitely return but only on quieter nights to avoid noise. The hotel is very well located within Tropea and within walking distance of the main attractions. The Solmaris is a beautifully appointed hotel with every amenity you could want. We stayed for 10 nights in June and loved everything about the hotel, it's location, the room, the facilities, the staff, the breakfast, the rooftop terrace, it was all more than we'd hoped for and we'd definitely stay again if we return to Tropea.

We loved this hotel. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet. There was lots of attention to detail often missed by hotels. It was in an excellent location to enjoy both the old town and the beach, Maria was a joy, nothing was any trouble. I would not hesitate to return.

The staff at Solmaris were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They tended to any questions and needs we had. The hotel is simple, but very comfortable, clean and stylish. The breakfast was delicious! Also in a perfect location close to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located in a very nice location. The town is easily walkable. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They also have a rooftop seating area that was great to see the sunset and have some wine. Parking is available on site. The bedding is very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Solmaris was great. The location was excellent, the staff very attentive, the bed very comfy. The room was big and we were comfortable.
This was not a regular hotel — it was something between a hotel and a b&b but it was new, clean and modern so this did not bother us.
The TV though was quite small and hard to see. That was annoying. And the parking was challenging for a large car.

The Hotel is located in heart of Tropea. We stayed 3 nights and used parking garage. The breakfast each morning had plentiful options. We enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice each morning and cappuccinos with our meal. The superior room has a good amount of space, the bathroom is very nice. Beds are very comfortable. There is a rooftop lounging area with a jacuzzi, but this was not set up during our stay. The only thing I would note is that we could not adjust our room temperature but we were able to open windows to help.

We appreciated the central location and the walkable areas near the hotel. There were plenty of nearby restaurants and coffee bars to choose from. The staff were also very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Excellent rooms, well designed and fitted out, everything you need, a few steps from the centre, a useful shop just across the road. Very good value for the price.

This is a great property with excellent staff. Breakfast was very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. There's a mini mart right across the street and cafes very close. Easy walking distance to main parts of town. Definitely recommend and would return.

Everything about this hotel is absolute perfection! It is in a great location just minutes away from the center of town. The rooms are lovely and incredibly clean. Breakfast is also very delicious.

Our experience at this hotel is absolute perfection. Modern and clean rooms, welcoming staff, really nice breakfast, and a great location. It's just a few minutes walk from the hustle of the historic center, yet far enough away to feel less crowded. We had room 101 which was first floor, with a private terrace area, and right next to the breakfast room.
For beach access, you can find a less daunting set of stairs (especially coming back up) that are around the corner on Via Libertà, going left on a street directly across from the Villa Adua restaurant. Follow the street/path that takes you around a church to the right, past a great place for sunset aperitivo, and you'll meet the stairs that will take you down to the lungomare. There you'll find several beach clubs, and free public beach below the Santuario de Santa Maria. (I found a small stretch of free beach access that ran down a path between two small RV parks on the way to the public beach. )
Loved Tropea and really loved the Solmaris Rooms and Suites.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel in Tropea Beach. Sparkling new, clean and modern. Every detail is looked after. The rooms are large and so are the bathrooms by even American standards. The staff is friendly. Especially Meema.
I am definitely staying here again.
