Absolutely perfect stay at Portecole in Tropea. The location is ideal—steps from the old town and beaches but peaceful and quiet. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—fresh, local, and made with care. Sharon and Biagio are outstanding hosts—warm, thoughtful, and full of great local tips. I felt truly welcomed. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The owners Sharon & Biagio went above and beyond to make our stay special. The accommodation was spotless, in a great location and had all you could wish for (& more! ), with extra details like a beach bag with towels and flipflops. Very much appreciated. The breakfast in their gelataria opposite was lovely & all the staff were really friendly. Highly recommended — we would return in a heartbeat!

A fantastic B&B run by a lovely couple. The B&B is comfortable, well situated and very clean! We were provided with excellent local recommendations. Breakfast is excellent. Tropea is stunning! We hope to return to both Tropea and Portercole B&B.

This is our 3rd visit to Tropea and the Portercole is one of favorite B&Bs. The rooms are nicely decorated, modern, and clean. The proprietors, Sharon and Biagio, are very helpful and friendly and help with reservations and other arrangements. Location is perfect and all sites are available within walking distance. Parking is available, reserve ahead of time. Breakfast is included and currently at La Dolce Vita (cafe) across the street, is delicious and has a lot of variety (including eggs). Great stay and great value!

I had originally rejected staying here because of its proximity to the pedestrianised town centre — fearing street noise. We pitched up here anyway after rejecting our booking at a place on the edge of the town with sea views.
We were given the attic room, which although not large and had no view it was very comfortable and had a large bathroom. The thick walls of the property and the efficient double glazing meant that the room was silent and we slept very well.
Breakfast is at a cafe opposite and was NOT the usual Italian affair of coffee and a croissant! We had a free choice of whatever and how much we wanted from the menu — including eggs.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, I strongly recommend staying her. It was great to be at the heart of this enchanting town.

Portercole B&B is perfect! The property is clean, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located near all the fun of downtown, delicious restaurants and the steps to the beach. The air conditioned room and bathroom are spacious and the bed is super comfortable. Sharon and Biagio are extremely attentive hosts that not only prepare a delicious breakfast complete with cappuccino, Italian meats and cheeses and Sharon’s homemade sweets, but are able to offer suggestions for dinner, activities, and are in communication for other questions and needs as they arise. We felt extremely comfortable and well taken care of during our 2 week stay in Tropea. We arrived as tourists and left as famiglia!

My mother, some family friends and I have been visiting Portercole yearly since 2016! We always go around the same time in August and we still love it so much. The location is great, very close to all the restaurants and a short walk to the beach. The rooms are very clean and have great sound isolation to the main street noises. The breakfast is fresh and tasty & the owners Biagio and Sharon are extremely nice! I would highly recommend booking your stay here.

We had looked around for a nice break and choose to go to Tropea. We found Portercole but chance. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile from the owners Biagio and Sharon. A lovely couple who speak several languages. We were welcomed with a drink of our choice while we did the check in then taken to our amazing room. It was spotless! I have stayed in 5 star hotels and this was cleaner and the sheets were so perfectly pressed there wasn’t even a crease to be seen! The toiletries were so good we took some home! The water pressure was perfect and the mattress was so comfortable we found it hard to wake up for breakfast. Breakfast was not only all the pastries, meats, cheeses and the usual but you could even have a cooked breakfast if you wanted all included. There was a wide selection of juices to choose from and even freshly squeezed oranges! Biagio and Sharon were available 24/7 to assist with anything we needed including advising on restaurants and excursions. We could only stay for 7 nights as we had to return home but it felt like 14 nights! We were so relaxed after our stay we highly recommended staying at Portercole! Enjoy.

This was our first visit to Tropea and we were delighted that we chose the Portercole B&B to stay. First and foremost, our hosts Baggio and Sharon were fantastic and their personalized attention and service is simply unmatchable. This B&B has 4 rooms, each of which are spacious, well appointed, modern, clean, and comfortable. The Owners attention to detail is certainly apparent in the design and cleaniness of the rooms and breakfast area! The breakfast selection was perfect and plentiful. Baggio is also the barista that will serve you your cappuccino or espresso each day. The B&B provides their guests with beach towels in room and beach umbrellas at the front door should you require them. The location of the B&B is perfect. It is steps away from il Centro and you are a short walking distance to the stairs that lead to the beach. There are endless number of restaraunts in Tropea which Baggio and Sharon can refer you to. This was a memorable trip and stay and one I would highly recommend!

We drove to Tropea from Rome in route to Sicily. Upon arrival Sharon greeted me at the door and then helped us find a park. (We found parking and driving in the town of Tropea to be quite hectic! ) The room was clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The only complaint I had is the air conditioning works too well! We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. The hosts were so kind and gracious.

Tropea, a discovery… but this little bed and breakfast even more… very friendly and friendly owners, great availability and clean and quiet rooms… I felt at home… we will certainly come back… Very recommended… Rocco and Maria Laura.
