Il Duca

The staff are incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent stay. The room had a tiny balcony with an outstanding view of the beach. The breakfast was excellent, the location is incredible. We regreted not staying more and enjoyed more of Trope and Il Duca.

Great location and view.
Rooms were pretty standard and were equipped with everything you’d need, including a beach umbrella and cooler bag.
The breakfast was okay.
The only really frustrating thing was that the room required the key card to power electricity which meant during the day the room would get hot as you couldn’t leave the a/c on and if someone wanted to go grab something from the supermarket the other person either had to go or sit in darkness.

Everything about this place was amazing!
Claudia was so warm and friendly and she really went above and beyond for everyone. She helped us organise an extra nights stay and had the new room ready at the same time we checked out of the other so we could move straight away! so lovely! the location is perfect too with a beautiful view of tropea. Will definitely recommend to all our friends!

We stayed at the B&B for two nights. It was the most amazing stay, we had a balcony with sea view (you can take your breakfast there), a beautiful room with a bathroom. The shower even had a massage function. The hostess was very friendly and made us coffee in the morning, she was also considerate enough to give us an umbrella for the beach. The breakfast was also very tasty with homemade cakes, scrambled eggs, juice etc. We highly recommend staying here.

Excellent location to visit Tropea. Nice room with beautiful balcony view to the sea. Good breakfast. The host was super nice and attentive. A bit of stair to climb everyday since no elevator but overall was a very good experience.

Fabulous location in a B&B that has so much character. We weren’t lucky enough to get one of the three rooms that had a balcony but our room was like a suite, still had an amazing view but couldn’t sit out and eat breakfast like we hoped to do. Claudia was just lovely, so so accommodating and helpful. Little touches like beach towels and an umbrella was an added bonus.

Had an amazing week in Tropea hosted by Claudia and the team at Il Duca. Such a good spot to walk around town and experience all the wonderful restaurants, shops and beaches in this hidden gem of Calabria. The home-made breakfast provided was the best way to start each day, and we were made to feel right at home (even after a very late check-in due to a delayed train). Highly highly recommend this place!

We stayed for 3 nights, end ofJune; we had superior room with sea view and balcony. Location was right on spot, you could get very easily to the small streets from city centre/ old town, in 2 minutes. Also, it was right where the steps to go to the beach were located. Literary exit the hotel, get across the street and you find yourself on the stairs to the beach.
Room very clean, comfy. Terrace very nice with best views.
Bear in mind that the location has no elevator, and there are some stairs that provide access to the rooms. But then again, staris everywhere in that part of the country. Bottom line, I never climbed so many stairs in my life, like we did in this trip (not only Tropea stairs mentioned here, we visited more locations in the trip, and STAIRS EVERYWHERE, hundreds and hundreds of stairs! )
A special line here, for the nicest and friendliest person, who made us feel most welcome there, Claudia, the lady in charge. She made us feel very welcome from the second we meet, always trying to help, offering an extra coffee, no matter the hour, or to provide us with some beach umbrella, etc. Always smiling, always very nice. She even offered to help with the luggage, on the stairs. We did not accept, but the fact that a rather small, delicate woman offered this, when in some hotels you see stuff looking at you and not offering any help even with an elevator available, it says much about the hospitality.
10/10 stars for Claudia! Such a lovely person.
