Blu Tropea Maison

We really enjoyed our stay at Tropea Blu Maison. It’s set in an original, rustic building full of charm, located right on a beautiful piazza overlooking the beach. The location is ideal — the piazza has plenty of great bars and restaurants just steps away.
We highly recommend opting for the ocean view upgrade — it was absolutely worth it and made our mornings and evenings feel extra special.
A special mention to Orlana, who made our breakfasts something to look forward to every day with her warmth and hospitality.
Just be aware: this is a very basic accommodation, so don’t expect a 5-star experience — it’s all about character, not luxury. Also, travel light: you’ll need to carry your own luggage through the town and up a few flights of stairs. There’s no car access to the property.
All in all, a great stay if you’re looking for charm, views, and location over creature comforts.

I recently stayed at Blu Maison Tropea, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst B&B experiences I’ve ever had. The combination of outdated facilities, lackluster service, and the overall poor condition of the building made for a deeply unsatisfactory stay.
Im not sure where to start…the room had no air conditioning or air conditioning that failed to cool the air, which was unbearable given the hot summer weather. The fan provided was broken, and no replacement was offered. To make matters worse, the only functioning air conditioning unit in the building was leaking, leaving puddles of water on the floor—a serious safety hazard that the staff didn’t seem concerned about. Rather stuffing a towel under the unit to soak up the water.
The room was also poorly equipped, with no shutters or curtains to block out the bright street lights. As a result, the room was fully illuminated throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. One of the rooms was directly opposite the town square with basically a night club underneath!
The bathroom was another letdown, with a shower so small that turning around without hitting the walls was impossible. There was no room to properly wash yourself.
The general state of the building only added to the discomfort. The property was old, unclean, and clearly unmaintained. The walls were peeling, and there was a musty odour throughout.

Wow! What a beautiful spot. Ornella was kind, understanding and extremely helpful.
Rooms were clean and breakfast was lovely and she made us the coffee the way we liked it. A/C can definitely be improved.
Giorgia was available 24/7 with all our queries and even picked us up on arrival. She made us feel very at ease.

We have traveled all over Italy and the views from this place are the best we’ve seen. It was so beautiful that it looked fake. Shower worked great, breakfast was nice. The downfalls were that the A/c really didn’t work, the bed was hard and the roof was cracking a bit on the the floor. We kept hitting our shins on the corner of the bed.

1 love this B&B in the city center, we had an incredible weekend in Trope. It is located in the most centric area of Tropea near to restaurants bars and beaches, Ornella and Kona were taking care of everything and they were also able to arrange a perfect gluten free breakfast. To get 5 stars they should adjust the high humidity inside the rooms. I recommend this B&B to everyone!
