Our Experience at Casa Stranges – An Attempt at Objective Feedback.
Writing objective reviews isn’t always easy – impressions are often shaped by how well the experience matches your expectations. In our case, Casa Stranges was a disappointment, but I’ll do my best to provide a fair and balanced review.
When we booked we mainly relied on the photos, which showed a rustic but charming house close to the sea. Once we arrived, we realized we had missed several important details in the listing: there’s no hot water in the main house kitchen, no dishwasher, no AC in the kitchen/living room, and no TV. That is according to the description, so that’s on us.
However, there were several things we couldn’t have known in advance:
The house felt generally worn down and not very clean. It looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time.
Hot water in the shower worked only occasionally – and during the last two days there was no running water at all.
The pool was in a condition that no one in our group used it during the entire week.
The house is part of a larger building shared with the host’s family, and the garden is also shared with an elderly relative whose overgrown section you pass through daily. We hadn’t picked up on that beforehand.
The host did his best – he was friendly, helpful and offered great local tips. He also tried to resolve the various issues that arose during our stay.
