Disappointing Stay – Not What We Expected.
When we first entered the room, it seemed fine at first glance, though there was an unpleasant smell that lingered in the space. We decided to overlook it, quickly dropped off our things, and went out for the day.
However, the real issue started when we returned at night. As soon as I got into the room, I found a huge cricket (a grillo, for those familiar with Italian) on my side of the bed. I immediately contacted the host, and the response was that it “maybe came in from outside” — but that explanation didn’t really reassure me. The insect was large and noticeable — it’s hard to believe it just “walked in” without being seen earlier. This left me feeling very uneasy, and I barely managed to sleep as I kept checking around for more.
On top of that, the bathroom window wouldn’t close, which means other insects could easily come in — and unfortunately, they did. In the morning, the first thing I saw when I entered the bathroom was a lizard (سحلية), which absolutely terrified me as I have a phobia. Again, this was all just during a single night.
To make matters worse, when I couldn’t sleep, I tried to use the internet, but the Wi-Fi wasn’t working either.
This experience left me feeling uncomfortable, unsafe, and very disappointed. The accommodation has potential, but the lack of basic pest control and maintenance made our stay extremely stressful.
