We stayed here for two nights in October while driving through Southern Italy. It's off the beaten path, in a lovely setting with distant ocean views and very quiet. The couple that runs this B&B are very nice. Be sure to ask them about their olive trees, they are very proud of them. Finding a restaurant in the off season for dinner can be a challenge in Maratea. We had a great lunch a dinner at Ristorante Pizzeria Sapore Di Mare. It is very much a local place and the food was excellent.

Our family had a great stay at the B&B La Giara. The hosts go over and beyond to make the visitors feel at home, the house is in a very quiet location with a nice garden and outdoor space for the rooms. The breakfast features home made jams, kefir, cakes that add taste and family vibe to the experience. The room and the private bathroom is well appointed and spacious, in our case it was adjacent to the main house and we could hear some noise from the kitchen during breakfast preparation, nothing really bothersome though.
The B&B has its private car parking for guests, it also offers a nice communal space with shaded play area for young children and a small inflatable pool. Local beaches and restaurants in Acquafredda and the train station are all at reasonable walking distance, no more than 15 minutes considering the slope. Overall an excellent stay and we hope to visit again!
