Absolutely found a beautiful hidden gem in Salento more specifically in lovely Spongano. What a treasure is the 3 Bacili Hotel! Beautifully restored historical buildings complex crafted with extreme care into a gorgeous secret oasis of elegance and peace and quiet for the more perfect time to unwind and visit Salento without the busy life along the coast. Fantastic and genuine fresh food for breakfast and lovely swimming pool. Loved the art installed around the court yards too! Quirky elegant and genuine highly recommended.

We stayed at "I Tre Bacili" for two nights while working remotely, so we didn’t get to explore the area as much as we’d like—but we still had a great time!
The hotel is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was absolutely delicious—fresh, local, and beautifully presented. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home.
It’s also really well located, just a short walk from the sea, which makes it perfect for both work and relaxation.
We’d definitely love to come back when we have more time to enjoy everything the area has to offer!

We had the most amazing and special stay at Tre Bacilli. Filippo, Maria and Sabrina are excellent hosts and you can really feel their passion and warmth throughout the whole hotel.
The rooms are excellent, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and varied (we had coffee, fruit salad, yogurt, eggs with toast, ham & ricotta and a selection of cakes most mornings). The hotel itself is stunning, the terrace, garden and pool area are so quiet and peaceful. Was the perfect place for us to unwind and chill. Spongano is a small town but there are restaurants in the town which are good, and there are lots of towns nearby which have great restaurants and lidos to go swimming if you want to go to the sea. There is off street parking which we used during our stay.
Filippo and the team helped me organise proposing to my girlfriend at the hotel which was incredibly special and I can’t thank them enough for the thought and sentiment they put into making the moment as stress free as possible. They also helped me organise a dinner with a private chef and waiter which was excellent. Seeing how invested and how much my experience meant to Filippo and his team was really heart warming and summarised the spirit of the hotel perfectly. We can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I spent two weeks in Puglia and Rome for our honeymoon, staying at six different places in many different towns. And our favorite place we stayed was without a doubt I Tre Bacili and the perfect town of Spongano. Everyone here was incredibly thoughtful and nice! The breakfast in the garden was the perfect way to start each day. We loved our suite and loved to come home at night and relax on our private rooftop patio.
Spongano was perfect and so relaxing. We had many great meals at the local restaurants and loved hanging out in the square in the evenings!

Behind the doors of I Tre Bacili, we found a beautiful setting and peaceful atmosphere. Our room was tastefully decorated and the small details were much appreciated. We can't say enough about Maria Grazia, Sabrina and staff that went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Breakfast on the terrace was plenty with homemade items that were delicious! Our stay was a blend of comfort, charm, and authentic Puglian hospitality.

The best breakfast we had in Puglia was served in a lovely garden by the ever helpful Maria. We stayed 2 nights in the best suite and loved the hotel and the bar and restaurant in the village square. Recommended!

Maybe a truly and unique opportunity to stay in one of the nicest and authentic "house" with a rare spirit. Design is perfect, modern and contrasting with century stones in this acclaimed italian style. But there's more according to my expérience as a travel agent owner and traveller. You will meet owners and feels like you've been part of a close circle of friends. Aware of their patrimony and what makes the real difference in this modern world. Slow, local, respectful of their legacy, this place is a gem. And the best part of this is that first the village is stunning and you litterally are next to all the beauties of the Salento.

My daughter and I, who are frequent travellers to Europe, and very particular in our hotel requirements, searched for the perfect location as our home base in Puglia. We are so happy in our choice of I Tre Bacili Dimora Salentina, in Spongano.
It is a peaceful, private, and secure oasis in a charming southern Puglia village. The owner and designer went to great length in every detail of the small hotel. The room we stayed in, the Presidente, was very very spacious by European (and American) standards. The mattress was very comfortable, excellent quality linens like in a Four Seasons Hotel, sophisticated decor and accent pieces and lighting from Milan. The one negative in the room was the air conditioning system. It was too "high tech" for me to figure out. It would be helpful to leave a little directional manual how to operate it in the room.
The outdoor area our room faced onto was a charming garden which was professionally arranged by a landscape expert. It was beautiful. We ate breakfast outside looking out onto it. Did I mention this breakfast area backed up to the back wall of an ancient village church. So charming!
The pool area was equally well thought out in it's design, sense of privacy, and charm. The landscaping was just exquisite. My daughter and I sat out at the pool for rest and relaxation. One thing maybe the hotel needs to look into is a smell at one end of the pool.

Wonderful four night stay in Tre Bacili. We have been treated like family given the warmest hospitality from Sabrina & Maria.
The room & bathroom were so luxurious. Breakfast was delicious, all prepared freshly but the cakes were the most delicious we’ve tasted.
The building is beautiful. We will be back!

We spent a relaxing week at this gem in Spongano. The rooms were beautifully designed and we often felt we had the pool and house to ourselves. We were well looked after by Maria and Gabriella who served us the most delicious breakfast every day with fresh local ingredients. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

Stayed here for only one night but wish we could do more. Such a beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of a quiet town.
Our room was extremely clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Had the best sleep ever.
Excellent service too. Sabrina was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed.
Breakfast was awesome and so pleasant.
Loved the pool area, very relaxing space in the center of town.

If you want to enjoy the best relaxing stay in Puglia, be sure to stay at I Tre Bacili. The staff, Maria Grazia and Sabrina, took care of us attentively from check-in to check-out. The breakfast, made with fresh ingredients, was truly excellent, and I was also very impressed by the interior design of the furniture and bedding, as well as the eco-friendly accommodation policy. I was happy throughout my stay, and I’m really grateful to the kind staff. I definitely want to stay at this place again next time.

Amazing hotel & lovely staff — what a gem of a place. Very few rooms, so it won’t be overcrowded and you’ll get that “it feels like I own this place” vibe. Can’t recommend enough!

We have spent one night in this beautiful Design Boutique hotel in Spongano. I Tre Bacili, placed in Spongano close to the best places in Salento, is more then common Apulian accommodation, is an inside door architecture and design experience. Nothing is casual everything is settled to hand to the guest a comfy and cozy place to be. The art installation, paintings and furniture inside the rooms are something that will make your staying a celebration of senses. Barone suite is the place to be and I personally suggest this. A special regard to Maria Grazia that take care of us during our staying and last but not least to the amazing breakfast served in the patio. We will.

Fabulous little gem of a hotel. Sympathetically designed, beautifully combining the new and old. Would highly recommended for couples wanting a romantic and peaceful hotel off the beaten track.

This was our third stay at I Tre Bacili. We can not recommend I Tre Bacili enough! It is truly a special property. Once you arrive at the Mansion, you begin to understand that you are part of a true gem. From the extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable front desk, to the reusable water bottles and on demand filtered water (both sparkling and still), every detail has been carefully thought out.
The rooms at I Tre Bacili are luxurious and spacious, with ample space for storage, an in room mini bar stocked with local wine, and thoughtful touches throughout the room.
Breakfast at the mansion is memorable and varied. We thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail, creative flavors and variety. From eggs to pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice, to a wide variety of breakfast beverages. Again, the small touches such as the monogrammed napkins and place mat, to the custom designed tableware make for a unique and memorable experience.
If you are looking for an excursion, tour, restaurant recommendation, or a local spot to soak in the sun, the knowledge staff is more than happy to provide you with some of their favorites. We enjoyed the bike tour that was arranged by I Tre Bacili where we were promptly met by our bike tour guide and led on a tour of the Salento countryside from the town of Otranto to the rugged coastline.
We can not wait to return to I Tre Baci! If you are on the fence about booking, don’t hesitate to book, you will not regret.

Tre Bacili is an absolutely beautiful hotel. It is located very conveniently in Puglia and close to many areas and communes of interest. The owner and staff at Tre Bacili are incredible. They are beyond accommodating and are there for all your needs. The rooms beautifully furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were large and filled with fluffy towels! We enjoyed the full breakfasts near the pool area. All the food was well prepared and fresh. I recommend Tre Bacili highly and will certainly stay here on my next visit to Puglia.
