What a wonderful stay we had at Palazzo Guido! We were originally booked for 4 nights but loved it so much we stayed for an extra 2 nights. Our host and owner Geltrude was lovely. The Palazzo had been in her family for generations. She gave us history on the palazzo, very interesting. The room was spacious, comfy bed, quiet and decorated with a lot of unique pieces of furniture. There was a nice seating area, nice clean bathroom and my personal favorite, a heated towel warmer😊
The common areas were so thoughtfully done, Geltrude told me when she remodeled she tried to preserve the integrity of the Palazzo and she did a great job. Lots of old interesting family photos, books and more beautiful antiques.
There is a rooftop with seating area, perfect view of the cathedral and a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset.
The location is perfect, close to all the cathedrals, museums, historical sites and restaurants. Geltrude was so helpful with restaurant recommendations, making bookings for us.
We plan to go back next year!
Absolutely fantastic "base camp" for your journey to Puglia, located the beautiful historic center of Lecce. "Palazzo" means Palace in English and the owner/host is a descendant of the first owners from the 16th century. She made us feel at home during our stay and at times, we felt like we had the whole palace to ourselves. The breakfast selection included traditional Italian pastries as well as a variety of cereals and even eggs made to order. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our vacation, the bed here was the most comfortable. Our room overlooked a piazza so there was never a lack of people-watching opportunities. There is a delicious pizzeria just below the balcony that was a bit "rumoroso" until about midnight each night, but since we were night owls it didn't bother us and the host also warned us during check in with an offer for a quieter room. So if you're early risers, reach out and reserve a room away from the action. We would absolutely stay here again.

Lecce has a stunningly beautiful, pedestrian friendly, old town filled with Baroque architecture. It is a pleasure to explore the streets and shops while admiring the surroundings. Our B&B, Palazzo Guido, was built in the 19th century and has been owned by the same family for 3 generations. It is conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from Porta Napoli (which is the beginning of the ZTL pedestrian area). Pay secure parking was located 3 minutes from Porta Napoli.
Our hostess and owner of the property, Geltrude, was delightful and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Our "Studio" suite was spacious, beautiful, comfortable and equipped with everything imaginable, including bottled water. On arrival, Geltrude provided a tour of the property. We would have loved to spend time on the roof-top deck enjoying a cocktail (they have an honor bar). However, Puglia and Basilicata was experiencing extremely high winds during our stay. Breakfast was a treat and served in a beautiful gathering room. The "pasticciotto Leccese" was to die for. The variety of high-quality, delicious items for breakfast would satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Our hostess was also more than happy to assist with dining reservations.
We will gladly return to Palazzo Guido.
