Lovely hotel great food friendly staff.

Here for our 25th wedding anniversary! Enjoying every minute of it so far. The staff are all very helpful, friendly & professional. The Spa is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our treatments.

I had my wedding reception at Redcastle last Friday and I could not recommend anywhere more. The staff were so helpful throughout the planning of our wedding, especially Marie and Lauren and we are so grateful to them and the rest of the redcastle staff. The food, the views and staff were all amazing. Thank you so much for the best day.

We had our wedding here in May 2022, and our experience could not have been any better from start to finish. Communication was excellent and they were so easy to work with, especially through two postponements. At different stages, both Lauren and Aisleen guided us through the whole process, and countless other staff members were helpful before and on the day. The bridal suite was beautifully presented, as was the function room. In short, nothing was a bother at any stage and we had the best day of our lives! Thank you all!

Stayed for 3 nights with my husband for our silver wedding anniversary, 23rd May, reception staff were very friendly and helpful, we were upgraded on arrival and our suite was absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. Nothing was too much bother for anyone. Ate in the edge restaurant on the first night and the food was unreal, we were also given free bubbly. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. Ate in the deck the next couple of nights and it was amazing, just want to acknowledge Alison and Zac from The Deck who were absolutely fantastic, they went over and above for us, they are a credit to the hotel. Spa and pool were first class. Staff at the hotel are the friendliest most helpful people ever. Thank you Redcastle Hotel, we will definitely be back! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a 3 night break recently with my husband and friends. We loved every minute in this gorgeous hotel. Stunning setting, very friendly and engaging staff. Food was faultless, breakfast and dinner. Balcony rooms superb. Will definitely be back 🏆❤️

Stayed here for my son's wedding on the 20th April for two nights! Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived. The wedding staff were fantastic rooms were great breakfast had plenty to choose from. The views are awesome. Thank you redcastle for helping my son and his wife have the most perfect day!

We had out wedding last Friday. 1st class service throughout the entire time! Even with 3 date changes, they couldn’t be anymore helpful and the day went so smoothly. Couldn’t recommend Lauren and darcy enough definitely went above and beyond. 100% recommend!

I stay here last week for the 3 nights. It was a fabulous hotel and the staff were amazing so friendly and very helpful with everything. Our room was so spacious. The food in the bar and restaurant was amazing. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and I can't wait to come back again in the near future.

I booked this amazing hotel a few months ago as a surprise for my family. Working through the lockdowns, like so many amazing others, we really needed the family time away.
Originally only booked one night, we upgraded our room and loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night. We have been very spoilt. The service, food, staff have been amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. Stuart at reception, Gerry head concierge, and Brid in the dinning room, you made our stay that bit more amazing.
Service at its finest. Always smiling and so helpful and friendly. You made our stay very special. Thank you so much, an amazing hotel and experience. I'll definitely be back xx.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Me and my girlfriend stayed in the bridal suite and it was perfect the whole time we were there. From the food to the staffs kind gestures, we cannot wait to be back! Everyone made our anniversary so special ❤️

Such a lovely stay I had here, so relaxing. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and it was amazing also. Lovely and accommodating staff. We went to the spa and left our bags at reception and once we came out to get the key for our room, the staff had our bags up in the room ❤️

What a wonderful hotel for an overnight stay. Food was excellent and the rooms really clean and comfortable. It was a wet day but we enjoyed relaxing and looking out over the ever changing view over Lough Foyle. Leisure facilities are excellent too. Hope to come back soon.

This hotel is amazing and so luxurious. Myself and my partner have stayed at this hotel more times than enough and honestly every time we go back we just fall in love. Rooms are stunning, food in the bar is great and the staff and service is fantastic. Could never say enough great words for this hotel.

What a great hotel everything was brilliant best overnight stay ever and food unbelievable and we have stay in alot off hotels over the years.

We had a lovely night at the Redcastle last weekend. The bedroom was fab with a lovely view and the breakfast was really good. The staff were friendly with the exception of one of the night staff. I believe his name is Raymond. He was very rude and obnoxious to everyone in our party of 4 to the point that the other member of night staff was almost apologetic for him. The other man couldn't have been nicer and made us feel welcome… a concept that seemed to escape 'Raymond'.

Just back from being in a wedding party and have to thank Gerry and Madeleine for everything. We had a fabulous weekend and nothing was too much for the staff. It was very much appreciated.

110% recommend this hotel for weddings, brilliant service from the first appointment right to the day of the wedding. Aisleen, and Chris were especially amazing, the day wouldn't have happened without them, more than helpful. So friendly, and they honestly couldn't have made the day anymore perfect! the whole staff were great, fantastic service and so friendly. The food was absolutely amazing, could not fault it at all. Everyone loved the food! best about.

Short but sweet! Had a one night stay with an amazing meal at The Edge. Restaurant which was fine dining at its best. Couldn’t fault the service throughout particular mention to the waiting staff for faultless, friendly service.
I very much enjoyed my spa treatment and if only I’d checked out of my room beforehand could have spent much longer in the relaxation room.
Not a criticism but a suggestion, when groups are using spa facilities it would be perfect to have a jacuzzi, hot tub or similar separate to the current pool area with easier transition to relaxation room. This would. Allow more privacy and enhance the group experience.

Staff are lovly made me and my husband stay very welcoming spa is amazing and food was gorgus will 100% be back.

The location, right by the shore, beautiful. The staff, so helpful and friendly. The rooms, clean comfortable and inviting. The food, well, that's just the icing on the cake, it's so good.

We had our wedding reception at Redcastle and we cannot fault it at all! The service we received leading up to the wedding day was fantastic. Aisleen was our wedding coordinator and nothing was too much to ask, she was so nice to work with! Everything went so smoothly on the day and guests were so impressed with the food and service. The location is absolutely stunning as well for photos! We can’t wait to go back on our honeymoon each year Amanda & Paul.

The warmth of the welcome and friendly staff created a lovely feeling which encouraged us to book an additional nights stay. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed for a weekend break everything about RedCastle was amazing food, atmosphere, staff but especially the spa treatment I was lucky to have experienced a back massage one of the best massages ever and a facial likewise the staff here were excellent and made you feel special would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night in September with my wife and two year old daughter. Had the 'Happy Campers' deal that included a suite with a tent and colouring books and torches. My daughter loved it and it's a great idea for kids with plenty of space in the room for her to run around and play. Great choice at breakfast and the quality of the food in the restaurant was excellent. The grounds and location are also lovely, with the restaurant overlooking the sea. Spent some time in the pool which was a good size and we didn't feel we were imposing with a toddler. Only minor snag was that the service in the bar was very slow despite it not being overly busy. Really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Spacious room, tidy, large comfortable bed. Staff helpful and friendly. Bar with pub grub but would highly recommend dining in the restaurant as is of a very high standard. 1st class service and menu.

Very nice view of lough Foyle. It is like being on board a ship with the views from the lounge windows. The service etc is good. Derry city centre is 20 minutes to parking and walking around.

High-end room and restaurant, high price but expected results at the rendezvous. The restaurant has a musty view of the sea bank, and offers a quality meal served with starches and vegetables as an accompaniment in addition to the dishes. Only flaw is the background music looped, but it remains a quality restaurant and very neat!

I have previously stayed in this hotel and found the staff helpful, the views from the restaurant were spectacular and the rooms lovely. However on this occasion we visited the bar restaurant for lunch. The staff were borderline rude, it took 15 minutes before a staff member would acknowledge me at the bar. Although the food was lovely, it was brought in dribs and drabs. I would not return to this hotel bar again.

Stayed on the 19th July on the retreat deal which included spa treatments, dinner and breakfast. The hotel is well presented, the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are all lovely. The spa treatments were enjoyable and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Was impressed with our stay at Redcastle. The man at reception was extremely welcoming and as was the person who took us to our room. The room was beautiful with a stunning view of the sea which had a lovely private balcony so we could enjoy the siren setting. Being vegans we weren't optimistic about the food, however our meal was above and beyond our expectations for both our dinner and our breakfast. All waiters made sure we were given all non dairy foods and went out of their way to change butters etc. Our personal touches was also noted and we are extremely grateful and loved our stay. We would definitely come back and hope to return for our honeymoon.

Stunning location for a beautiful hotel. Just cannot fault this place. The staff and food are excellent and the spa is on another level. Be prepared to bring cash though as tipping cannot be included in card payment which is a shame.

A brief getaway… a superb culinary experience… a definite 5 star restaurant. Accommodation is clean and well kept.

My friend An I spent Mother’s Day weekend here with a pamper package included as a huge surprise from our families. We were so excited! On arrival on the Sat we checked in and wanted to book the ‘Special’ Mother’s Day Dinner that was advertised only to be told sorry were booked out, people usually book these things in advance! Shocked by the response I did say well we’ve never been here so how would we of known it was on and also asked do they not keep a number of tables for residents of the hotel An got ‘No’ as the answer! We were told we could book a meal in the restaurant for the Sun eve which we did! The price was extortionate especially compared to the Morhers Day Special which included a pamper pack for all ladies! We didn’t get this either. Then when checking out on the Mon I was paying for our meal An there were desserts added on which we neither ordered nor ate. The room was nice, the view of a indoor play area, deserted night club left a lot to be desired An if we opened our window we could hear the kitchen staff. I myself am disabled an not one offer of help was given with our bags or anything. We couldn’t get anywhere near the front door as there was a wedding on however I assumed there would be a separate parking area for residents. We had to go quite a distance across the car park in the rain to reception. The only highlight was our pamper session! It was amazing.

Rooms are large and very comfortable. Food in the Edge restaurant was outstanding. Reception and bar staff were very polite. Great stay and we will definitely be back.

Amazing location, but could do with a refurb. Very dated and worn, but has potential and some of the views over the Atlantic are breathtaking. Service staff were quite slow. Food was amazing.

A wonderful Easter Sunday spent in a lovely family friendly hotel. Food delicious staff so friendly. Comfortable beds lovely breakfast and the pool and sauna so enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Nice place to eat with a couple or family, with a fantastic view of the sea.

Rooms were nice, clean and big with a separate living-room, there was a great selection of drinks, there wasn't many plain options on the food menu although the food was very fancy but I'm more of a plain eater, the pool is lovely. The views are spectacular and the staff are the most pleasant and accomodating I have ever met. I don't know why this isn't a 5 star hotel. Thanks for the stay, I'll be back soon.

I had a fantastic stay over two nights in November 2017. Weather wasn't perfect but its Donegal after all. Hotel was clean and staff I found to be efficient and helpful. We had the dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was one of the best and most inventive meals I've ever had. Trust their chefs, its all good. There was a few wedding parties in the hotel during our stay however they never caused any problems, couldn't hear a thing from the bedroom although we were at the far end of the hotel. Free parking, golf course, local attractions, however the spa did not live up to my wife's expectations.

Two night stay, Mid week. Arrived around 7.30pm. Into room, quite nice and spacious. Down for dinner in the Captains Bar, then it all started to slide downhill…
Put in our food order (a nice steak) at 8.50pm. Sat had a drink and waited, thought they were busy. Next the manager starts to clear away condiments and we point out that we have not had our meal yet. Waitress arrives and asked have we not had anything at all? No. She then re-orders after the kitchen has closed at 9.30pm.
I had thought, this is not going to be good.
My steak, which was really a late lunch, finally arrives at 10.10pm. A piece of steak, a few chips and half a tomato.
Luke warm, on a freezing cold plate.
I did eat it. And as we were not happy, the manager did weave the cost. But not ideal for a **** hotel.
The breakfast was nothing special either. Very greasy.
Needless to say, we didn't eat dinner there on the second night.
It's another of those places that seem to rely on the view, to try, to justify the prices.

Food beautiful and staff all lovely. Room spacious and has everything you need in it. Spa treatment very relaxing. Hotel bar/restaurant and rooms could have been slightly warmer would be my only grievance only one radiator to heat a large bedroom. Had the best sleep ever so comfy. Will definitely be back and stay longer next time.

Beautiful situation right on the water's edge with spectacular views. Rooms were warm and comfortable with iron, hair drier and the usual bathroom needs. Dinner was very tasty and nicely presented. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice… cereal, fruit and of course a cooked breakfast. Staff were wonderful… nothing too much trouble. Will be back!

Great location by the sea Fabulous views from the restaurant and your room if you ask and pay for a sea view (Worth it I think). Dinner in the restaurant is exceptional breakfast not so impressive. Overall a really good place. Spa and pool are good too.

A great place to stay. Especially enjoyed speaking to Patrick while swimming in the pool. He’s a regular customer who could not recommend you highly enough. A local man who spoke with pride as if he owned the hotel. He gave me a great endorsement for the hotel which should be honoured with a free beer or meal. And yes, he was right. We’ve loved it. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure.

Unfortunately the bathroom sink was dirty, obviously hadn't been bleached or cleaned in a while. Had to take two cold showers and the bed was awful. Food was brilliant though, and the staff where all polite and courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them. Was my first visit, if I where to consider coming back, it would be because the staff where top notch!

Beautiful location and friendly staff. Breakfast exactly what you'd want, great views from the lounge overlooking the mouth of river Foyle. Our room was nice, but bathroom let it down slightly.

Had a magnificent stay here, very helpful and pleasant staff, food was excellent at dinner and breakfast, hat's off to the chef's. Location on water front fab, great base for exploring and my wife loved it so much she's already planning our next break there again.

Have been here four times now and every time was a unique experience. Visited the spa today, heaven. Staff friendly food good and a stunning setting.

Room was very dirty stayed here few yeats ago was 5 star now its below average! will never stay again. My partner sent an email about the room and never even replayed I'm sure trip adviser will be glad to hear our story…

Myself and 4 friends had great weekend at the Redcastle Spa, and the dinner was excellent and the breakfast was the same! Infact I would have stayed longer given the chance.

Really didn't expect that today it's a poor hotel I won't be back took my dad n mam in for there 50th wedding anniversary just Barfood served it was after 4 fair enough they had carvery on but older people like the traditional turkey n ham roast beef seating area was a joke sitting on sofas a low table and it away from u my dad couldn't reach the table so he sat with the plate on his knee I was so sickend way the way it worked out if I had known I'd a went elsewere.

Had a wonderful overnight stay but was appalled2 days later dropped in for a swim and was charged 15 euro.

Another fantastic time had at the Redcastle. Great food fantastic staff. Can't wait to see you all again.

Was up at this hotel for a wedding recently. All staff were very friendly, from the very beginning at Reception Check In, Food & Beverage Staff, to check out on the sunday just gone. Room that I stayed in was very much comfortable and clean. There was a bit of noise on the Saturday night, but once this was brought to the Hotel staffs attention, it was quickly and professionally dealt with. The Golf Course on site looked to be in great condition from what I could see of it. Unfortunately I did not get to play but next time I stay again, I will take in a round of golf. Finally on the food, well… what can I say, hats off to the Head Chef and his team. Great food from Starters to Desserts overall. The Steak and Vegetable soup, were my favourite. Would definitely stay at Redcastle Hotel & Spa again in the future.

The location was absolutely beautiful, with a great view across Lough Foyle and the Irish hills in the background. The food was absolutely delicious especially the fresh fish. The service was amazing, however they forgot to serve my hot chocolate, and when I asked them to do it they brought me hot milk! Also the room was far too hot at night which made it difficult to sleep, but this was likely due to the amazing weather. The best part about the hotel, for me, was the pool; it had loads of interactive areas and was large enough to swim around in.

We stayed in the hotel for one night and had a good time there. Initially we had to wait until 4 to check in but apart from that there was no other problems. Was very peaceful and relaxing during the day. I used the spa and pool which was excellent. We had dinner in the bar and the food was amazing and breakfast was also really good. Overall we had a very good stay and would highly recommend the Redcastle hotel.

Professional and friendly, but the hotel is old and needs renovation. Room price disproportionate compared to how you preeentava (nearly 160 euros a double, no minibar, with mediocre furniture, synthetic curtain which also had a hole, shower in the tub)

I came from America and got invited to stay here with a friend to do her tattoos while was in there visiting my mother as I do ever yr for the last 4yrs. While stay there I must say tge services were OUTSTANDING everyone was very helpful. I didnt have to lift a thing. And the room was out of this world RELAXATION. Lets say this not stay here u missed out. Thank you red castle.

We stayed for 3 nights on a romantic break with dinner on the first night, one breakfast in bed and an add on couples spa treatment. On arrival despite lots of guests arriving for a wedding check in was quick and very efficient. The friendly porter carried our bags to the room where there was a bottle of sparkling wine and nibbles waiting. The room was a lovely suite with windows looking over the carpark to the hotel entrance and Lough Foyle beyond with the sun streaming into the rooms. The restaurant food was excellent and the service first class so we ate every night in the Edge overlooking the lough. The view is amazing whether the sun is shining or the clouds ever changing. We saw rainbows forming (even a double) and the reflection of the super moon on the water. The spa and pool have some of the best facilities we have come across and we wish that we had more time to stay in it. An excellent base for touring County Donegal or Antrim and an easy drive to the ferries at Larne and Belfast. We will definitely return and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed last night for the first time and couldn't have asked for more. No, it isn't exactly cheap, but it's a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful setting with really friendly staff and our room was just gorgeous with a fab view of the bay and was really clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food looked and tasted amazing. The only thing I could say is that my meal could have been hotter but that's my personal preference. Would not hesitate to go back and I will recommend to my friends.

Had another great break at this hotel. Very friendly staff who all want you to enjoy whats on offer at the hotel. Service, bar food, entertainment, spa and pool all excellent vallue for money. Setting beautiful and the golf course great for 9 holes. Hotel room had great view and very clean. Visiting this hotel going on 25 years and never disappointed. Breakfast excellent choice and setting with great view. Thankyou again.

I booked our stay at the Redcastle to take my friend away for a much needed break and rest. Your staff could not have done one more thing to make us welcome and comfortable – they were fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the gentleman who booked us in was smiling and welcoming. I had tried to telephone the hotel in advance to upgrade our room to a sea view, but had not got through. Reception arranged this for us on arrival, and brought us coffee while we waited. The gentleman came and brought our cases to our room. The meals were excellent, both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Compliments to your Chef, and to the staff who were smiling and attentive. We loved the relaxation of the pool area, and the ambiance of the whole hotel. Our reaction – my friend has told her husband that they are booking the Redcastle for their 25th wedding anniversary break next year, and I will return with my husband for a restful break in September this year. Thank you to every person who helped to make our break so enjoyable.

I dont normally leave negative reviews but felt I had to for this hotel. Overpriced at 150 euro per night, rude staff, average food (although the breakfast was good), more suited to being a 3 star than a 4 star. Would definitely not return.
