Waterside Guesthouse

A lovely cafe on the banks of the Barrow. We sat out and had coffee and scones, watching the world go by on the river. Nicest scones we’ve had for a long time. Friendly staff too.

It was lovely to return after a long time. The staff are very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent and our waitress, Vanda, is really efficient and concerned for our enjoyment.

Fab breakfast at Waterside this morning! Staff excellent and “Maitre D” was chatty and friendly. We sat outside and it was so lovely sitting by the river! Cake was delicious as was the coffee! We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay here last week. The setting is very beautiful, idyllic in fact, with the quay and the river directly in front of the property. It's peaceful. Our room was quaint with furniture in keeping with the house. Not modern but perfectly adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our meals there — dinner and breakfast — were very good.

We stopped into this town based on a local pub keepers recommendation. The quality of the food and service was exceptional. The ambience is family friendly and the place is relatively small but very quaint. I had the fish and chips with an O’Hara‘s IPA. Others in my group had the Guinness beef stew and the shepherds pie. All of which were excellent. Keep in mind that they do close relatively early by American standards and they may be fully booked.

Incredible staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean and modern enough. Great food and the town is beautiful… right on a river. The proprietor was very friendly and a great help. He helped establish the local rowing club. I got to take a look and it was great to see a proper rowing boat house.

Set in a beautiful location beside the river Barrow. We were meeting up with friends, so we booked a table. The staff were so friendly and happy. The service was quick, the food was beautifully presented, and it was absolutely delicious. Had a wonderful time. Will definitely be back.

Very nice premises and surroundings. Breakfast was top notch. A big well done to Brian and staff. Hopefully we will be back soon.

Amazing. We just stayed for a night, but I could have stayed for a week just to enjoy the lovely place. Very nice view to the river, delicious and big breakfast, the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was pristine. I recommend this place if you want to enjoy a lovely little village in the East of Ireland. Very close to Killkeny as well. Difficult roads though, but enjoyable.

Graiguenamanagh bicycle hire : I rented a bicycle and trailer today for a riverside jaunt to St Mullins with our six year old. Excellent service, great staff and brilliant price. The equipment was in perfect working order. Highly recommended as part of a trip to Graiguenamanagh. I will definitely be using this again.

Located in the lovely riverside town of Graiguenahmanah, this historic building has been lovingly converted to a gracious inn. Warm welcome from the owner, an ample, comforting room with an outstanding view of the river, steps from an ancient abbey, and good food at the cozy restaurant downstairs.

Such a cozy place to start the Irish journey… a lovely small town at the banks of one of the „three sisters“, the River Barrow.
The Guesthouse is a pleasant place to stay, the brakefast is grand, the staff is very friendly. Just perfect.

A superb stop for us. Hospitable. Welcoming. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Set in a Gorgeous setting. These views were either of the hotel or from the hotel window!

Have been going to this restaurant for many years, but due to illness, I am now mobility impaired. We arrived for lunch without thinking that disabled facilities would be an issue, ordered lunch and began to eat. A few moments in, I asked where are the disabled toilets please, only to be told we have none. The regular bathrooms are up 2 flights of stairs and I was advised to go down to the Yacht Club public toilet down the road. We were shocked with no disabled facilities and with their general lack of interest really. After questioning another 2 staff members about facilities or if they had a staff bathroom on the ground floor available, We had no choice but to pay for our uneaten food and leave the restaurant! My husband had to get the car outside, put me in and drive down to use the PUBLIC bathroom. If any premises in 2024 has NO disabled facilities available for customers then please have compassion and consideration for disabled people and install a ground floor bathroom or just a toilet at the very least. Not a very dignified situation to put any human being in. You never know when your own situation could change.

Stayed here recently for a weekend with a large walking group, great weekend and everyone was raving about the place.
Comfortable accommodation and very clean. Food excellent — especially the breakfast. Staff very efficient and friendly. Booked the accomodation with Brian and he was very easy to deal with. Will definitely be back, Graiguenamanagh and Waterside guest house are both gems.

Was touring Southern Ireland on a motorcycle with a mate. Stayed here for one night in April. Brian, the boss, secured our bikes in a large garage at the back of the property. Guesthouse is in a beautiful small village with stunning views. 7 pubs within 5 minutes walk. Accommodation is immaculate and breakfast of porridge and full Irish delicious. Definitely worth the lovely drive to Graiguenamanagh.

Stayed in Waterside Guesthouse as part of a group for a walking weekend. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is ideal for walkers or even just a weekend get away. The food was delicious and very efficient service.
