A beautiful well kept Castle in a magical setting.

I was concerned about some of the reviews about this Hotel but I am glad to say It has its faults but I was far from disappointed and would definitely visit it again. First of all the staff are first class. They really go out of their way to help you as best they can. I can understand why other reviewers stated they were unhappy with the service but I do not believe it warrants criticism of the Staff. First of all the Hotel undoubtedly is understaffed. Which is a pity. I have noticed that two Staff working after 4pm are expected to cover the Bar, Restaurant and Check In area and they are run off their feet. From past review's management does not seem to take this on board. A single employee more can easily rectify this. Its not rocket science. They staff apologize all the time to Guests for delayed attention to guests as a result which must be embarrassing for them. The receptionist which is a lovely friendly lady finishes at 4 pm. She has a raft of local knowledge so feel free to pick her brains as she is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spotless with very high ceilings. After all it is the first purpose built hotel in Ireland and it is over 200 years old. There is only single glazing as it is a listed historical building so the owners have very little scope for making changes externally and internally. In summary It is centrally located the heart of a lovely historical heritage village and 150m from Lismore castle with plenty of scenic walks.

The room's are lovely and the hotel has a very warm feeling the only thing was there seemed to be bad feeling between certain staff members and I felt it affected service.

Had a surprisingly delicious fish and chips meal at the bar. Huge perfectly badgered fish. Yum.

Had to listen to a Nightclub under my head. Anyone over six foot means having there feet sticking out over the bed. A/c wasn't working. Your typical over rated irish 4* hotel that gets nowhere near the mark.

I'm from Canada and was visiting the Lismore castle area when we decided to stop for dinner at this hotel's restaurant. Note: I did not stay at the hotel itself so this review is solely for the restaurant. The decor was modern and the room was spacious with a bar and many nicely set tables. There was also an outside patio. The place was lovely and so were the staff. We were told it was a carvery so we expected to see a carvery when we entered but it had turned into a sit-down menu instead. We didn't mind this and tried three dishes: the roast of the day, the stuffed chicken fillets, and the tortellini. There were zero complaints about any of the dishes, they were all delicious and tasted fresh, we left completely satisfied. After driving two hours back to Waterford city, I realized I had left my purse at the restaurant (I was very tired and jet-lagged! ). Anyway I panicked because all my holiday money was in that purse along with my passport and other important cards. I called Lismore hotel and they assured me that they still had it. We drove the two hours back to retrieve it and not a thing was missing. I can only say good things about this establishment. They were entirely professional and gave us a quality experience. I give this place nothing but recommendations.

Recently stayed for double room snd breakfast. Did not sleep one minute due to rattling of old windows throughout a windy night. Breakfast verg nice snd staff also.

Great hotel, nice atmosphere and comfortable lounge.
