The house itself is nice and the view is stunning. My husband and I were very happy with it when we got there. We have zero complaints about the room itself. The Wi-Fi isn’t great but that was also fine as we were just enjoying the views and had a lovely dinner at the nearby hotel. The reason for our complaint is that the owner was downstairs talking with someone in the entry hall until 2 a. M. It’s an old house and noise travels. We couldn’t get any sleep and had a big day ahead of us. He finally got off the phone right as I was about to go downstairs and ask for some quiet after three hours of constant noise. We were very disappointed that the stay ended on that sour note.
Valentia Island is a beautiful surprise. This is a dream house. A pic is worth a thousand words.

The online description and the website belied the reality. Lack of welcome, a single fold up bed instead of a full single bed despite the two bed description on the website. The quality and freshness of the bedlinen and well used towels were disappointing. No offer of assistance carrying luggage upstairs. The property did not look inviting from the outside and had a neglected feel about it. The unwelcome atmosphere made it feel like you were imposing in someone’s home.
