My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Currane Lodge a couple of weeks ago, during our first trip to Ireland. Whereas I was a little reluctant to stay at B&B's for the majority of our trip (we've heard some pretty crazy stories) I am SO GLAD we got the opportunity to stay at a home w/ not only an UNBELIEVABLE VIEW but also with one of the loveliest families I have ever met! This home is right outside the main town of Waterville (a very charming little seaside town), situated between beautiful green landscapes and gorgeous water views! We arrived late in the afternoon and were greeted by Anne and her ADORABLE younger son, Finnbar (who was HANDS DOWN the highlight of our stay — what a little gentleman! ) They immediately offered us something to eat, a ride into town and an opportunity to play with their new baby lambs! Our stay at Currane Lodge was, for me, the perfect embodiment of everything I had imagined Ireland to be; gorgeous landscape, rich history (there is an island not far from the house with 5th century ruins you can visit! ), wonderfully generous people and an overwhelming sense of security. I couldn't recommend Currane Lodge more. It was most definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
