We stayed at Garnish House earlier this month. Everything about the place was impressive. Upon arrival, the folks at Garnish House sat us down for tea. It was a great way to unwind from our travels. The tea was great, and the breakfast the next morning was excellent.
The rooms were nice and spacious. There was tea service in each room, so we had a late night tea before retiring for the night.
Everyone at Garnish House was so friendly. I would recommend it to all my friends.

The breakfasts are fabulous. The staff was helpful and courteous. The residence was homey.

Never had a breakfast like it. Really friendly staff.

Food and service have been amazing. And the bath in the room is huge!

Lovely bed and breakfast, staff could not be more welcoming or helpful if they tried. Rooms are immaculate and have all mod cons for a stay. Parking is limited but available. Location is good.

B&B very nice. Very nice staff, welcome with a good tea. Not so close to Plunkett Street (10 mins), we stayed overnight in a decidedly small room (difficult to handle even just a carry-on bag) with a bed too short and narrow for two adults. The bathroom, small but compact, would require a little more maintenance, especially for the decidedly intrusive noise. I mean, it wouldn't have been bad if it hadn't cost 139 dollars.
Breakfast is excluded, but definitely valid and to try.

Best place in Cork to stay! Also I recommend the Garnish Chocolate Fudge cake! The staff and owner made me feel like I was part of their family.

Really nice place … on arival I was met with a really friendly reception. Was give a pot of tea and a fantastic solection of home made scones and cake … Was so welcoming. Really good old Irish hospitality at its best. Really nice big room and shower in a really central position. Brilliant place. A home from home.

This is a quaint hotel on the outskirts of Cork. It is easy to walk into the town centre from here, and there is parking on site so you can leave your car and do almost everything on foot. The rooms are small, but also quiet and warm. The staff are friendly and attentive, making for a great stay.

Myself and my friend stayed in this place for paddy's weekend and we were not expecting a such nice acomodation. Really clean, close to town, friendly staff, overall really good. I would stay here again.

Beautiful room, friendly staff, fantastic food, excellent service, and lots of extras to make you feel appreciated and pampered. The welcome tea and pastries started our stay off just right. I wish we had planned more than one night in Cork, because it was a memorable stay, but we’ll be sure to book there again on any future trips. And it’ll be our recommendation for family and friends when they travel to the area.

A Victorian house is pretty in a photo, but spending a night in it is much less glamorous.
Arriving in the apartment is cold. In the room, 2 fixed Radiators HS, and the extra radiator gives a blow of juice.
The walls are Victorian too, you can hear the neighbors whispering!
No hot water, it flows from the tap of the bathtub of "yellow water". In the bathroom, the sink is 80cm high, so to shave or brush your teeth you have to bend down.
Less serious but terrible, free Wi-Fi is for the main building, if you are accommodated in annexe too bad.
And at check out, we tell you about the rain and the good weather, we insist on making you have a breakfast at 12, but we do not ask you if everything went well.

Booked for breakfast for four of us. Just beautiful. The staff could not be friendlier, nothing was too much trouble, plenty of extra tea and toast. Really astounded at the quality of food and service received. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

The rating for this is mostly on location. We are a couple travelling around Ireland and chose middle range B&B for our choice of accommodation. We paid a low rate for the time of year of €58. This didn’t include any breakfast which we thought was fair enough. However this is a place that seriously needs some TLC. We stayed in room 20. It was small, with a tiny bed (double booked). The bed was so small, and really uncomfortable. The room itself smelt of mould, and there were signs of this all over the blinds. The shower was in need of repair and as a whole just not worth anywhere near €58. A real shame as the location is great. Really disappointing. We had zero sleep, the hot water boiler must be above the room and kept us awake all night. Walls are also so thin you could hear people in the room next door coughing. I wished I’d of read honest reviews prior to booking as we wouldn’t of stayed.

Welcoming staff, bright & spacious traditionally furnished room in an old converted house. Great location right next to UCC, short stroll from the centre of town.

We come here annually and it is always a great experience. The accomodation is comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast to die for. Looking forward to next year!

Garnish house was great! Tea and scones on arrival. Very friendly welcome. We got upgraded to a superior room. Breakfast was exceptional and very well priced for what you got! Beds very comfortable! Big shout out to Ryan who was very accommodating to us late at night and being very sweet and helpful. Thank you for an awesome place.

Absolutely recommended accommodation. 10 minutes walk from downtown. Excellent reception with a complimentary snack and recommended to try Breakfast.

Probably it is a matter of personal preference but for me it was a very surprising experience of such a comfort and hospitality for a true budget price. I highly recommend, you will not regret.

I literally can't rate them higher — the service is amazing, the food cheap but plentiful and delicious (the breakfast's a five-course! ) and the rooms are very clean and warm. I'm not in any way affiliated with Garnish House, just absolutely delighted with my stay there.

I had originally been booked for a double room, but since I would be staying for 4 nights they upgraded me to a king-size room with a sitting room and kitchenette! All the employees were very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was delicious! Literally across the street from the gates into UCC. I will definitely recommend this to friends who visit Cork.

Garnish House was one of our favorite places to stay in Ireland. Conveniently located close enough to the center of Cork to walk there but far enough out so as not to have to deal with center city traffic. Parking is free and off the street. Best of all was the wonderfully gracious staff that greeted us warmly upon arrival with a welcome offer of tea and scones. The staff clearly worked hard to make guests feel at home and the owner made a point of speaking with guests to be sure all was good… and I haven't even mentioned the amazing breakfast items offered to guests. If we ever make it back to Cork, there is no question that we will book again at Garnish House.

Wonderful guesthouse. The staff are so kind and go out of their way to make you feel at home and welcomed. The welcome tea is a treat, and the breakfasts superb. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Awesome Hotel! As soon as we entered, they offered us complementary coffee and snacks. They were absolutely delicious. The breakfast there was fantastic too. The room as large and comfy. It was able to house my family of four comfortably. The staff was kind and helpful. They helped us find many great restaurants. The only complaint was we were housed in a another hotel/house that had two another people living in it.

We did not stay at the hotel but in one of their apartments. It was spacious, clean and well equipped. The service was very good and we were greeted with a delicious tea accompanied by scones and cakes.

If there was a 10 star option I would tick it! Absolutely fantastic hospitality to be had here in is perfect location. Staff Staff Staff are utterly amazing We felt we were at home in Granny's kitchen with tea always on and ready with homemade scones brown bread and other yummies. Food is simply exceptional The Breakfast Menu is endless. We will definitely be back here many many times in the future.

I was very happy with my stay here. I stayed for business and it was ideal for my needs. It is very conveniently located and has all I needed: a bed, breakfast and Wi-Fi. The staff here are very pleasant and welcoming. You are made to feel at home from the first time you enter the door to when you finally leave. There is a very good selection for breakfast with all hot food made to order. Freshly baked scones, brown bread and jam is available at all times throughout the day too. I couldn't speak highly enough of the hostel having stayed there on several occasions and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at the Garnish House and we have a lovely memory of it. Our room was big, with TV and a big bathroom en suite. The bed was very comfortable. All the buildings of the B&B are smart and elegant. I liked the detail of the fresh flowers in the hall. The breakfast is just awesome! The best I ever had. But it is not included in the price: 10€ per person. The location is good, just a few minutes walking from the city center. I will definitely recommend this B&B to anyone. :)

Very nice B & B. The late check in (2:00 am) was not a problem. Also a room swap was immediately implemented and we got a really completely quiet room. The breakfast is wonderful and you miss the service immediately after the check-out. The boss personally asked about well-being every day. It's all very personally and quickly. You erläuft the city centre quickly and already the University, which is certainly also a tourist attraction, and various parks in the vicinity. At any time. I think it's the best b & b in Cork!

Super guesthouse! Best service with very warm reception. In a small, sweet rooms with fireplace was before the check — in coffee, tea, cake, Brown Bread and scones served! Room was on the first floor in the next building opposite. Room was small but comfortable, generously cut bathroom and shared kitchen and living room on the ground floor possible. The breakfast was plentiful and offered a selection of cereals, fruits, daily continental breakfast and a la carte choice of at least 20 different dishes (full Irish, oatmeal, pancakes, omelettes…). Location to the Center in 10-15min walk, the first pubs and restaurants in about 5-10mins walk.

You've got to stay here! The people are really friendly and helpful. The room was more than expected. And the breakfast was over-the-top! I'll definitely stay here next time I'm around.

Wow — very friendly staff. You are then offered tea/coffee and scones which are great. Our room got upgraded for free to one of the apartments which was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic too and they brought it to the apartment which is 2 min walk from the reception desk. Can't recommend highly enough! AND I know I've already mentioned the staff but they deserve a second mention due their friendliness and professionalism :)

Big B&B in Western Cork City. Nice welcome and we had a good, big room on first floor. Everything worked, and very clean. Beautiful full breakfasts from extensive menu. Can get very full (there are several buildings which seem to share the breakfast room). Our room, at front, was a little noisy owing to commuter traffic in mornings.

I've stayed here 3 times now when visiting family and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff are so friendly and helpful, such a welcoming place to stay! The rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The last time we stayed here our entire family stayed in the house across the road from the main site and it was like our own little house to stay in which was so lovely. The food is incredible, there is so much to choose from at breakfast I find myself wanting to order so much! Their traditional Irish breakfast and the fruit taste amazing, oh and the cinnamon pancakes are the best pancakes I have ever tasted — ever. If you're on the fence about staying here, just book it! You won't regret it (and don't forget to order cinnamon pancakes for breakfast! ).

Not worth the money: Needs a renovation! Window was broken. Bath (and everything else) was outdated. Breakfast was nothing special/ not worth its (extra! ) price.

Fantastic property with a wonderful staff that is very helpful and courteous. If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Cork, you can't go wrong staying here. By the way, breakfast is superb.

We walked in, off the street for tea. The host was welcoming, the food was excellent in both standard and price. The living areas were clean, and very homely. Greatly enjoyed the entire experience. Would love to stay a night.

Not only was the afternoon tea and 3-course breakfast unforgettable, the staff at the Garnish Guesthouse was warm, inviting, friendly, and exceptionally helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great location and nice rooms but the service is the standout feature — free tea and scones to welcome and an amazing breakfast. Try the french toast.
