This is a great place to stay, very friendly and carrot cake was an amazing addition to a wonderful breakfast.

We came here in April of this year four our daughter’s first birthday. Valerie and Kathleen were absolute angels. When we arrived, we were frustrated from trying to find parking for 30 mins (as the lot was full) and I was less than kind to Kathleen on the phone. I had called to check in with her as she had emailed asking when we would arrive as reception was closing. I explained (frustratingly) that we couldn’t find a spot to park and we had suitcases and a baby. She kindly without hesitation offered us her parking space. She helped us unload our car, checked us in, treated us so so sweetly even though I was less than kind to her. She and Valerie made our stay absolutely wonderful and a memory we cherish dearly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the salmon. The grounds were stunning. They allowed our baby to see chickens, chicks, bunnies, a sweet dog, and more. We have such a special spot in our hearts for Gabriel House and it’s staff. We cannot wait to visit again.

I could not recommend Gabriel House Guesthouse highly enough. The ambience, personal touches, friendliness and courtesy of all the staff is delightful and so charming. I have stayed here three times and intend to hopefully stay here many many more times in the future. Incredible value for money, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, scrumptious breakfasts all made with home produce, skill and care. The best aspect of this beautiful guesthouse is the fabulous Kathleen, front of house and manageress supreme. You get the feeling you have known her all your life the second you walk in the front door. So friendly and makes you feel right at home! (Oh the chickens, ducks and rabbits out in the scenic garden are a fabulous addition also)

My family and I fell in love with this place! All of the ladies were wonderful — so helpful and friendly. The environment was cozy and warm. We were a short walk from the things to do in Cork. Great restaurants are nearby. Beautiful and historic sites are all around and easy to get to on walking tours or buses. If you stay here, I suggest getting breakfast added to the room. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would return every year if we could.

Books this awesome B&B on a whim, as we where not going to make it back to Dublin, it was best decision we could have made! The place is great, the staff was awesome… you will not be disappointed! Reminds me of Gideon Putnam in Saratoga, New York.

A comfortable place, the rooms are ok and the breakfast is very good. The service is attentive and is 10 min walk from the center although it has some slope. It has a good parking.
They have been very attentive and have had a picnic for the trip by having to leave before breakfast.
It has a very good value for money.

Super nice reception. The room is comfortably furnished and clean. The bed very cozy. 1 star deduction, as it was relatively audible. The breakfast buffet was very good. There was something for every taste. Pancake, scrambled eggs, porrige were freshly prepared on request. Fruit was not missing either.

Highly recommended, well located, close to the train and bus stations, with a bus stop nearby, great since you have to climb a small slope. It is a very nice establishment, the reception is very attentive, and the rooms clean, full breakfasts and good. There is a small garden where you can relax, I think all this makes it very interesting, it is close to the center, you can not ask much more.

Loved it. Comfy, clean and perfect. And I'm a vety discerning traveller. Great price. Great location and I loved the endearing Montenotte. Sorry to leave, in fact!

Beautiful view from the backyard, with my coffee. The room was comfy, and the break fast was delicious. It was an easy walk to downtown Cork.

Spent 2 weeks in Ireland and stayed at many hotels and B&B’s… Gabriel House in Cork (beautiful old town mansion on a hill, overlooking the old city) was my favorite! Handily beat out more expensive places we stayed at. From the location, amenities, comfort and service… excellent! The staff were friendly, professional and extremely accommodating. A special call-out to Valerie — such a sweetheart! She even called ahead and arranged a late dinner for us at a nearby wine bar (we arrived and checked in late, caught up in our travels and visits). was clean, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast is amazing. The full Irish plate was great. I guess it will surely be my spot if I ever travel back to Cork.

Great place to stay for a city trip to Cork.

Good onsite parking and very convenient location to Cork centre, approx 15min walk into town. Clean with modern ensuite bathroom. I was on 3rd floor which was only accessed by stairs, no lift, so had to heft suitcase up the flights of stairs.

Spectacular site, but eye to book! There are times that do not include breakfast and then comes the Lord of the Mallet to stick a good one. Anyway it is very good but something expensive. Quality/price ratio is not optimal.
They have outdoor parking right outside the door of the establishment.

Nice lil cozy spot in the middle of cork. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was awesome. Reception checked me in and remembered my first name the rest of my stay. The kitchen staff was great, they make you feel like your at g-ma house eating. Gies out of their way to make you comfortable. You may find a hotel with more amenities but never better people and staff.

By far the best guesthouse I have ever stayed in its like a mini hotel really the rooms are fantasticly clean and comfortable and the breakfast room overlooking the city is fantastic the staff are so nice they remember my name and what I eat for breakfast service is outstanding. I highly recommend this place for a business trip or a weekend break.

Very good b and b stayed one night for work had everything I needed and more. Even provided a phone with easy to use controls for anybody from elsewhere to find their way to local attractions. Reception ladies were very nice and all in all a very central comfortable location. One thing if your a nervous driver or parker just be aware the car park takes an experienced driver to get in and out of.

Great staff, recently refurbished and an amazing price. I would highly recommend this place. They even had these little computers you can use as a tour guide around down which was a great touch. You're a walk away from some of the best eating in town and there's a lively traditional pub just on its doorstep.

Nice, central location and very close to Cork City, bus and rail stops too. Staff are incredibly professional, friendly and accommodating. Worth asking for a room with a view if possible. The staff really are a tribute to good service. Breakfast was a highlight too.

They were really accommodating in moving my booking. I had to postpone my trip for a week and they obligingly moved my booking at no extra cost. The room and en suite bathroom were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. I know not much can be done about it as it is an old building but loses a star because I could hear my neighbour's conversations.

I would give it 5 stars but I can't as radiator was off for 2 days and despite asking lady at reception, it was not turned on. There was no iron or hair dryer. Plus point was good breakfast and behavior of staff. Overall nice stay as I had been walking a lot so cold weather didnt bother me as I have good metabolism.

Great location and service! Besides, by mistake we took one of the charger available for guests with us home. The management was ready and very polite to inform us and find a solution. Very professional! Per italiani: Una delle receptionist parla italiano con accento inglese che fa sorridere ;)

Have come here for quite a few years now for cork jazz and it is brilliant. We love it.

Place was ok for an quick stay, nevertheless the beds were too firm that I couldn't sleep really well.

Very close to downtown Cork, but off a quiet street. Able to walk everywhere for Cork site seeing. Hotel is comfortable, staff is friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. The shower was cold, though, and while the parking is free getting in and out of the parking lot through a single steep road was a little stressful.

Not your average B&B. Friendly staff, lovely views over the city, chandeliers in the hallway, big comfy bed. Breakfast was a small continental selection but lots of choice for hot breakfast to order. Will use this place again.

Our room for 4 was small. You have to climb on the beds to see through the window. But for one night it goes for the rest nothing to say, good breakfast.

An excellent b&b very friendly a warm welcome, rooms very nice and super ptit dej … to 10 mn with feet of the centre of CORK city. Down. But we need to go back. A bit tiring. Very close to train station and bus

Is in the high part of the city, the views are cool. Has parking. We slept great and the breakfast we loved it. A taxi to the airport from there is about 23€.

Great location just 15 minute walk into the heart of town and just uo the road from Gallaghers for food and music. Great friendly staff and comfy room. Good value for a near to town B&B. Off street parking available.

Wonderful! Our room was incredibly spacious with a bank of windows overlooking the flowering trees in the yard, waterfront and city lights — situated on the hill (and on 2nd floor) we had a beautiful birds eye views! Incredibly comfortable king size bed, great bathroom with all the amenities and top notch delicious breakfast (huge variety to choose from). Easy walk to downtown sights and restaurants and the staff could not have been more gracious. Definitely would recommend and hope to return and stay here many times in the future!

Great position over looking the city, reasonably priced, friendly-ish staff, but staff had their favourite guests and ignored new guests. Some dampness on one of the landings which was, visually unattractive! Comfy bed though at the top of the house.

Well located, less than 15 minutes walk from the Centre. Comfortable and pleasant, although without excesses. They speak Spanish.

Nice room but not a place to unpack. We were looking forward to a 2-night stay to unpack. Not a closet, dresser or wardrobe. No amenities. As with most BandB's in Europe, not enough towels. The staff was friendly. Beware of the parking! Steep and narrow entrance with an angle. Narrow parking spots. The attendant offered to bring the car in but realized we arrived when the free parking started for the weekend and we were leaving Monday early enough to avoid a ticket. So we parked on the street. Convenient location. We walked to the pubs, tour buses and shopping.

Room very small. Very old and quite far from the Center if you decide to walk around. Private parking. Breakfast not bad.

I lived in Cork for a year and for the first week I stayed here. I cannot fault them. The staff were welcoming, helpful, friendly, smiling, chatty, bubbly, like friends. My room was just so comfortable and I thought it was very reasonable price wise. Great en suite facilities, comfortable bed and great facilities. If you are going to Cork, stay here.

I have stayed here now on a few occasions on business trips to cork and each time I have enjoyed my stay. The staff are very interactive and good humored I will continue to return here to enjoy the experience.

Excellent staff and beautiful room with a nice view of Cork. The breakfast was excellent.

I liked tea facilities in the dining room available any time (hot chocolate, cookies and herbal teas). The only draw back was that after arrival I got king size room no 6 with 2 single materasses instead of 1 but they changed it for me.

We stated at Gabriel House B&B for 5 nights. The highlight was that the staff was unbelievably helpful. I was having trouble figuring out how to get to Shannon Airport at a time of day when there were no buses running from Cork. The desk attendant at Gabriel House looked up a train schedule for me and wrote out an itinerary of what train to catch, which transfers to make, and how much each leg of the trip would cost. When I decided to rent a car, they called up the car rental service to find out more information about rates. They then printed out driving directions for everywhere I wanted to go. We decided to spend a day driving around the Ring of Beara, and one of the staff members gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants, towns to stop in, and even the best driving route to get there. The location is good — a 10 minute walk from the Cork city center and nearby to many restaurants and bars, although it is on a big hill, so you'll get some good exercise when walking back at the end of the day. For me the price was a bit steep, but I'm used to staying in budget hotels and hostels, so I guess this was the going rate for this type of B&B. The Wi-Fi connection was decently fast, but it seemed to cut out more frequently than I would have liked. I loved that they had a room with free tea and coffee.
