A beautiful hotel with very friendly, knowledgeable & professional staff. Rooms very well maintained. Would highly recommend.

Bad experience here. Bar food was shocking. Salmon had a really sour taste, sent it back and wasn't charged which is fair enough. Bar Staff weren't very helpful and I feel could do with a bit more training. Hotel itself looks nice and was relatively clean. Was just expecting more.

Really nice place where to stay when in Clonalkilty. The room was comfortable enough.

Dropped in this evening for a quick snack. Great choice of starters, main courses, lovely open fire in bar area. Service and staff excellent. If you get a chance try any of the food with their special in-house chutney. Worth a visit for the chutney alone.

Fantastic place to stay in clonakilty. Staff are exceptional. Booked last minute and they were very accommodating. Nice and relaxed hotel to enjoy an evening meal and a few drinks. Highly recommended it.

Comfy bed, smallest towels ever, not the cosiest on initial impression. But friendly staff and ok breakfast.

Stayed here for three weeks in January 2018. Very cosy, friendly hotel. Great staff, really make you feel welcome and more of a guest than a customer. Food very good, tried most things on the menu over the course of my stay and enjoyed every meal, especially the Irish stew. Good choice of beers from the usual Guinness and Murphy's to locally brewed ales. Tended to be very quiet during the week and bustling at the weekends. Live music in the bar, usually Sundays and Mondays. Great place to experience the Irish craic!

Nice, quiet hotel although I believe there's a night club at the weekends. Breakfast really good. I was upgraded to a family room. Lucky me.

Search for the best Steak Sandwich in Co Cork part 1: So here we are. We've ordered our first Steak Sandwiches in our bid to find the best, most memorable, Steak Sandwiches in the County of Cork. On purpose we start somewhere where we've never had a Steak Sandwich before. We place the order with a lovely young lady and settle in for a bit of a wait. When the sandwiches arrive mine is as ordered (blue) and I'm happy to eat the lot but the Gardener isn't as satisfied. In fact for the first time ever I watch him send back his plate. I'm sure it was all a big misunderstanding and it did get rectified straight away. A new sandwich arrived after another wait and he happily ate the lot. Misunderstandings aside we have decided this sandwich can and will serve as the average of what we can expect. 1 being the lowest and 5 the highest this is what we made of it. Service : 3 Service was friendly and when the problem was identified and brought to the staff's attention it was dealt with immediately. However I've never seen the Gardener send back a plate so that has to be taken into consideration. And the 3 (not 4) is for the not checking it was all in order before the unlucky plate hit the table. Bread: 3 A point of discussion for me. Is Ciabatta 'the' bread for a Steak Sandwich? The Gardener says yes. Me… I'm not so sure but I'm willing to accept that many will agree with the Gardener and so the Ciabatta is ok.

Excellent Hotel Family run. Very child friendly. Toys and beautiful sun garden.

I stayed here November with my friends. My friend had booked it for me. When we arrived the staff at front desk showed us to our room. It was lovely and there was work been done. We had great night. All staff were just brilliant so friendly and helpful hope to return soon. Thanks to all.

I booked to stay here on Friday the 17th of September because I was attending a wedding in Clonakilty. Nobody told me that the hotel is locked up at about 1.30 a. M. And it is not possible to gain entry after this time. When I arrived at the hotel after 1.30 a. M. I was surprised to find that it was locked. Although I tried phoning I could not get through to anyone to gain access. In the end, I slept on the floor of a room which my friend had booked in another hotel. Although I returned to the Emmet Hotel the next morning to complain I was not refunded. A disgrace. Do not stay here.
